This isnt really about the Pokémon game, because I would never expect this of a Pokémon game, but I’m getting really sick of games having wildlife basically be a few animals spaced out evenly from each other like we’re all still in WoW looking at mobs. I get that this is sometimes because of the limitations of game engines, but animals in the wild tend to group up! Especially herd animals and herbivores! And pack animals!
Again this isn’t really about Pokémon, it’s just always been a Bugbear (new Pokémon to) of mine and seeing that footage reminded me of it. Pretty much all games are guilty of it, even AAA big budget stuff on next gen consoles

That's also frequently a gameplay thing. Like if the animals are actually the monsters you are facing that's kind of gotta be a concession to gameplay.
Not always, but plenty of times. And concessions to realism for the sake of gameplay and fun is usually an a-ok thing.

It would be fairly easy to render a whole herd of animals, then when you get close the females and young ones flee leaving you to fight the leader. The player would soon learn that herd = 1 or 2 real encounters, and besides that would give some more verisimilitude without sacrificing gameplay.
Oh I agree and it’s not really something I’d want or expect in a Pokémon game necessarily. Just seeing the wildlife in an open world game footage reminded me of my longstanding complaint
Often it’s technical, often it’s gameplay, but I still feel like it’s something that not enough games even attempt, even big AAA blockbusters.

The Witcher 3 absolutely has packs of enemies and monsters that should be solo are solo (EG they don't like anyone else in their territory). Running into a large pack of wolves is never fun in Witcher 3.

It would be really fun in a game with a lot of wildlife/monsters to see that classic couple of giraffes and a herd of zebra imagery, or even everyone begrudgingly shares the same waterhole action.
In a world of monsters in particular I’ve always thought it’d be cool to see a huge bird swoop by with a flock of little ones riding behind on its wake.

The Xenoblades do this so well, the huge bronto monsters sharing water space with countless other creatures, things having different day/night behavior and territory and whatnot.

yeah the creatures are all very well distributed, make a lot of sense.
First boss in SMTV just checks if you're paying attention.
you can use one <element>-block item and beat the fight in 2 turns, or even 1.
Yeah I somehow was steamrolling everything up until then... Which I knew was a problem. I picked up 3 of those block elements. But the poison ended up doing me in.
Second run was better. Gained a few levels and found a couple more Ice demons to help out.
I feel like it's pretty much just par for the course that the first run goes rough, then you go do a fusion montage and come back to kick the boss's ass.

Yeah it was just such a thorough ass kicking that I had to get up and walk around a bit. I think I got him to like 80% HP lol

Xenoblade is excellent at making you feel completely insignificant against the scope of the map.

I’ve heard it referred to as theme park methodology. Where no matter where you are there’s a significant point of interest in the distance. Like you can always see the Matterhorn or Space Mountain or Splash Mountain if you’re in the right Land, you can always see a Great Beast in Breath of the Wild, and always see something huge and eye-catching and most likely plot vital in Xenoblade.

I've noticed my shiny new white OLED Switch's left joycon has a weird springy noise to it. Like gently moving it around will make a sound like spring tension. I don't seem to have any ill effects / drift from it, it's just weird, none of my other joycons do this. Anyone else have this happen? Is it a newer, stronger design or did I just get a loose spring or something. :P

Being able to see the Bionis and Mechonis from basically everywhere that isn't a cave is kind of cheating though.
Is "Integrum Masterpiece" a brand new Kingdom Hearts title (like literally a name, not a new game)? I haven't heard it used on the other consoles. I think it's very chef's kiss, primo KH stupid.

It's the name of the entire collection if you want them all together. Also that's the sale price. It's normally going to be $90.

I went and checked Epic store, since that's the second newest place to buy them, that name is not there. So presumably they invented it for this. And I love them for inventing a brand new, deeply stupid name for every new sale. People wouldn't be as mad at Skyrim if they bothered with this basic courtesy.
After binging smt v and the nocturne remaster I wish some of the ds titles were available on the switch . I could always Download them on my 3ds but it would be more convenient on the switch.
Yeah, I started playing the Artful Escape because I had a Game Pass deal still going, and I liked the style and atmosphere enough, but I got tired of waiting for the game to start, and uninstalled it.

Yeah I am absolutely considering playing SMTIV but for whatever reason it feels like a giant undertaking to boot up the 3DS.
But SMTIV had a way better story that I never quite finished and I need to.
I really wish they'd worked out porting Banjo Kazooie on the Wii U, so that it could've been on the Virtual Console. The lack of an easy way to own the game digitally without an Xbox system is frustrating.
I'm lucky enough to have a copy of the two games and a working N64, but that's an option less and less people are gonna have as time goes on.
Still pretty salty about no Virtual Console on Switch. That was one of the best things that the Wii, 3DS, and Wii U had.

You want to price it like a mid-tier game? Actually do the work to port it and give it to me on a cart. I've got a museum to run here. :P
