Just give simple names for options. No reason to have cutesy difficulty names and whatnot instead of simple names like easy, medium, etc. with pretty simple explanations for each
The back half of this year is just so ridiculously loaded with games... Sunbreak, Three Hopes, Xenoblade 3, Bayonetta 3, Splatoon 3, uh... anyone seeing a pattern? Also Pokemon. Still need to grab Kirby too at some point...
I sort of dislike the message it gives that they spent time limiting the view of flesh but leaving the violence intact. The exposed skin wasn't even that bad in prior games (it was there, but I'd even be hesitant to call it nudity when I don't think any true bits and pieces were shown on camera). Meanwhile, you could kill enemies with guillotines and meat grinders in a horrific fashion. If you want your game to be more accessible to all ages, it feels super half-assed to only worry about the chaotic glances of sideboob and butt the games provide.
you don't have to be misogynistic every time there's a hint of titties on the forums
it makes me feel creepy when video game women are made to show off while the guys don't. It's unequal and unfair and fells super gross. I like that I finally have an option to make it equal in a game, admittedly it would have been much more fun to have sexy outfits for the men too.
if you want to call that mysoginistic well then absolutely fuck you

say what you want about the functionality, but i think it's hilarious they decided to name that function "naive angel mode". it's like - you don't want nudity? ok sure but we'll take the piss out of you in the menu toggle.

so it's unequal and unfair for women to be displayed that way when men aren't,
but also it's gross for a woman to be portrayed that way,
but also it'd be cool if men were portrayed that way,
but now it's equal because you're still not getting men portrayed that way?
do i have that right? equal representation isn't about increasing it to match, it's about decreasing representation to match?
also, maybe when a woman says "hey you're being misogynistic" you don't say "no i'm not, fuck you". might i suggest reflecting on why people might say you're being misogynistic??
also also, i don't feel like looking up more of your posts to see you going "ew gross" at the sight of women

the context is that magic pink has a history of saying misogynistic things when female sexuality gets posted and i got tired of seeing it so i'm calling it out

nope, you absolutely don't.
you are right tho, it would be much much better if it was raising the bar to match. I grew up in a time when ANY equality, even a shitty kind, was still considered a move forward but, as you rightly point out, that's not acceptable or even good anymore.

again, quote them. i don't like seeing female sexuality when it's overdone objectification and 90% of the time in the movies and games I play it is. If that is considered mysoginistic then yes absolutely i'll stop now
at a bare minimum you're dismissive of things that aren't made for you; i can't count how many times you've done either this or 'ugh, STORIES in GAMES'
and like we're all guilty of being dismissive of shit
the problem is that it's way more loaded when it's about relatively harmless cheesecake

yes, i'm way too dismissive of things people like. you are right and i need to work on that because no one wants to hear that stuff, it adds nothing to a conversation
if it is relatively harmless cheesecake then i guess i would be ok with it? but it's really hard for me to tell when it's that and not another drop in the bucket of "women have to be sexy in media there is no other option"
i think there's an argument to be made for bayonetta as female empowerment through sexuality, even if it's being made by a man (the character design is obviously famously done by a cool lady, which I think gives that argument room to breathe)
so I think that nobody was saying 'women have to be sexy' but there's definitely credence to 'bayonetta kind has to be nasty with it a bit'
like it's gotta be pointed out that (considering its relatively small niche as a character action game) bayonetta has a HUGE following among women/queer women and there is definitely a reason for that

yeah, i see what you're saying. i'm stuck in loop where seeing sexy women in media triggers my manipulated by men red flag leading to women being sexy as their own expression in media triggering the same flag.
plus never being ok with sex-anything in media as a result from being so closeted about it has ended up with a really shitty outlook? or i'm just jumping to easy conclusions
ok, this has given me thinking subjects. thanks all.
one of the boxes we put ourselves in sometimes is that when we learn what is 'wrong' with regards to representation is we think only the very polar opposite can be 'right'
which, for example, would invalidate decades of incredible black exploitation cinema made by black creators for black audiences

to be clear, i don't think you're actively choosing to be hateful towards women. you come across as old school gay man "vaginas? gross" type of humor, which is at its base level, misogyny
i understand it might not feel that way, that it feels more like celebrating your own homosexuality. i definitely took part in it when i was a gayboy and finally felt comfortable enough to be open about it in the face of people assuming i was straight, but it was still internalized misogyny and transphobia

I have to say I agree, but not for the same reasons.
I'm super happy Nintendo is dropping the money to back Platinum making these. But the Switch is an old system at this point, crippled by even older mobile hardware. I'd give anything for this to be a switch successor launch title, but I also know electronics are still in short supply.

Bayonetta was Sega published and Platinum developed. 2 and 3 have both been Sega publishing, Nintendo providing the funding, and Platinum developing. But who knows, Nintendo might give up one of their high profile older audience aimed exclusives that literally everyone begged to be in their 1st party mascot fighter... maybe.
It was a pleasant surprise when The Wonderful 101 Remastered got to be a multiplatform release, but I don't have particularly high expectations of the Bayonetta sequels leaving Nintendo platforms.

I was rubbish at Bayonetta when I played it, but I do wish it was an option on other consoles if it's going to end up on PC anyway like the other two, even if that's delayed. Bayonetta is not the kind of game I want to be playing on the Switch, or really most character action games where lots of enemies are onscreen doing stuff and you're slowmode dodging with particle effects everywhere.

yeah only bayo 1 got a PC port because that was purely a sega-published joint, 2 and now 3 are bankrolled by nintendo so they are keeping them exclusive forever
Yeah bayonetta 1 was, by and large, a flop. That was going to be the end of the franchise. Nintendo came in and funded the sequel, so Nintendo gets to keep it.

And I still hold out hope for Scalebound, or some other game where you do that kind of action with a dragon buddy.
... In fact, we need more games with dragon buddies.
Also, I won't say Never. I never thought Sony's stuff would end up on PC, and yet here we are.
Okay I went digging in my library, effectively a cupboard right now, and it was Bayo 2 on Wii U. So I'm not actually sure how much my lack of skill was because of my lack of skill or because I had to do rapid button inputs on a controller half the size of the universe with the battery life of a soap bubble.

Bayo is essentially a Nintendo exclusive brand now.
Bayonetta 2 is not on PC.
Bayonetta 1 is on everything and even got a remaster for X1/Ps4. Bayo 2 is on Wii U and Switch, Bayo 3 will only be on Switch.
