Capital One Card - Online Payment
Magus`The fun has been DOUBLED!Registered Userregular
Ok, I recently got a Capital One CC. All has gone well, but I've not gotten a bill yet!
I can pay what I owe online, but I don't wish to pay the full amount (as I have 0% APR and I wanna pay off in 3 payments to increase my max credit limit).
The problem is, the thing online gives no minimum payment amount (it reads at $0.00) and the first payment is due today (June 1st)! I've already made one payment, but it still says a payment is due on the 1st.
I'll probably have to call them, but this is very annoying. Anyone else use CO? Any reason why I haven't gotten a bill in the mail?
I use Capital One, and get a regular bill but know that there is an online option to stop paper statements.
Just guessing: it probably just says a payment due on the 1st because that is the next due date, but since you already made a payment the min. due has already been covered.
You should also be able to view your statement (any of the last 6, actually) online with one of the tab options.

Not sure about the mail statement, should probably get one next cycle.
Yeah, the on-line thing for cards is always a little off. As Tomanta said, since you already made a payment, it counted that as the one due the 1st.
I would recomend either sticking to solely paper or on-line record keeping, as the dead tree version will always be behind the Intertube version. I just set Auto-Pay for a day before it's due and forget about it.
They may not bill you on the first month, additionally if you elected to only get e-mails, you won't get a mail statement.
I'd say if there is no "payment due" then that pretty much answers itself. If you want to be safe, it seems that no matter what I have it say my minimum is between 10 and 15 dollars, so just throw 15 up there.
I agree that you probably owe nothing this month. But I'd definitely call if I was concerned.
When I pay my credit card online, it tells me how much I owe for the month, the minimum payment, and the total balance of my card. Note the total balance != how much I owe for the month.
If the billing cycle ends on the 30th, we'll say, and the payment is due by the 20th of the following month... any charges I make between the 30th and the 20th will appear on my online statement, but aren't due until the next 30th... thus it will say current balance $850 (for example). Statement ending balance $500 (example) and minimum payment $20 (examples still)...
so I always elect to pay the 'statement ending balance' ($500). This ensures I pay no interest while still paying the least amount possible.
It only says a bill is "due" is because that is the next due date. If your amount owed is 0.00, then you owe nothing. Don't worry about it.
I know credit cards can be scary at first (I'm assuming this is your first...), but you get used to it. And CapitalOne specifically has a one-late grace... So, you can be late once and not have your APR raised.

Thanks everyone, you guys were right. I called them and they told me (after I asked them to repeat themselves like 3 times cause I could not understand them) that I didn't owe anything until July 1st and my minimum amount due will show tommorow.
