I think they need to get their major new content drop out to keep people at all engaged and before everyone leaves for the holidays, which pretty much means the next few weeks. I'm super curious to see if they put more info out about what's coming next week in the [email protected] today or if they just leave it a mystery.
Also for anyone who doesn't follow Bungie's twitter, space horse!

No actual details on the 30th aniversary, but some big deals in here - No more glimmer or other costs for switching stuff on armor and weapons, whcih means it's been opened up to third party apps to work with, which means you can actually make loadouts now. Hot damn! (Now if they'll just kill the cost for swapping affinity on a masterworked piece...)
There was a lot of good lore that season that everyone forgot about/missed because the rest of that season was SO SHITE
The invitations of the nine are chock full of weird lore and hints at shit and I think a lot of it we still don't fully understand or know the implications of it.
I somewhat suspect the Nine are going to be a big deal in the post Light vs Dark showdown world.
It’s super interesting to have this release the day before infinite. Like are they just banking on players playing both?
Weird to lean into your biggest competitor when you have competing releases.
more interesting that Halo is releasing on the Wednesday when MS usually release their games on a Tuesday. really feels like they chose to make a lil room for this one.

ok the new Twitch sub emblem is pretty great (btw the name means Thirtieth in german)
give 2 gift subscriptions on a participating channel that has the extension enabled, so $10 minimum
go to a channel, click on the extension, and then the gift sub option should be there
So how exactly does Moments of Triumph work?
I've been away for a long time and the blog doesn't really explain what it is. Is it a timed event with some special bounties to complete or something?
That emblem is super nice!

It's varied over the years but generally you'll have a set of Triumphs with rewards for completing X, Y, Z, etc. count of them. Like "Do 3 of these and get the emblem. Do 7 and get the sparrow. Do 10 and you can go buy a t-shirt."
Generally the triumphs are a bunch of things over the past year. So you'll have ones specific to whatever new content was added that year plus some general "Do a bunch of each playlist" ones. I'm fairly certain that every past Moments of Triumph has been concurrent with the Solstice of Heroes event, so unlocking your Solstice armor would be in among the Triumph list. The fact that it's not makes me wonder if they'll still have that Triumph and you just won't be able to complete it unless you did so during the Solstice or what.
In terms of time-limits: yes, it's a time-limited event. In the past, as I said, it's normally been at the same time as Solstice of Heroes so the two events were (I think?) the same length. Since Solstice is already over this year, maybe not.
I haven't really kept track of what's going on in the anniversary celebration stuff but I'd guess whatever that is will be tied into the MoT Triumphs list. I think there's some kind of special event grind going on?
Given that we're coming into December at this point it wouldn't surprise me if they tie MoT into the Dawning celebration as well, with a "Bake X cookies" or "Deliver Y gifts" Triumph.
Hoo boy, yeah, definitely play through the Beyond Light campaign first to get all of your Stasis goodies and good luck getting through all of the various seasonal tracks!
We know at least one is apparently complete four lost sectors on Master Difficulty, which is a little rough, but not too bad.
At least there will probably be a lot fewer raid-oriented ones than last year. I'm guessing the usual 4 or 5 low-hanging fruit ones like 'do bounties' and 'do ordeal strikes', reach rank 100. Probably one for Trials, one for VOG and DSC. Get the quest-based exotics for the year. Something to do with the seasonal activity like 'finish a hard-mode shattered realm run' or 'kill X champions in shattered realm' and 'rescue however many witches there are'. Maybe something with The Dawning? Have they announced anything Dawning-related yet? And probably a couple about whatever the anniversary activity is going to be.
Solo-ing them can be rough but is possible with methodical play. Mods can play a big part in making them tolerable and we've got some silly stuff going on with them this season.
Master Lost Sectors don't have Challenge Mode, right? So the long season should let more than average number of folks build up artifact bonus light (as well as just reach pinnacle cap.)
Are there still folks running Prophecy on a regular basis? I haven't done it but would like to go through it with people that know what they are doing.
We know at least one is apparently complete four lost sectors on Master Difficulty, which is a little rough, but not too bad.
It's probably not solo though.
Solos the intended experience (given you only get loot if solo and they'd be a joke otherwise), so that seems an odd claim.
Guess we'll find out. I'm not stressed - warlock shenanigans are always there if you need em
Solo is how they want you to do them but I would not be surprised if they let you do them in a group for the moments of triumph checklist just to make it easier for people to do it and to stop complaints.

Hit up the discord and there's a very good chance of someone wanting to come along.

I still haven't done it. Find one more and we're on our way.
Maybe wait for Tuesday so if there's a Triumph that doesn't back-date itself it'll count.

plus if you get a few folks running them as a fireteam who wouldn't have bothered with them otherwise you might encourage some of them to give it a try solo.

It isn't super complicated but does some stuff with mote collection that doesn't show up elsewhere.

My initial thought was that Prophecy isn't that complicated but, well, it kind of is? The cube section would be real weird if you've got nobody who has done it before. The rest is built up pretty well and/or pretty cool and not that complicated to figure out.
Either way, if y'all pick a time I'd be up for helping if I can make the time work.

I'm in if you guys are interested; I haven't done it at all, so it'll be totally fresh content. Tuesday works for me.

Weekend is over. What time zones you folks in? I can do basically any evening EST this week except, maybe, Tuesday. Or next Saturday evening or any time Sunday.

Weeknights tend to be difficult for me to wrangle gaming time into so weekends are better (pretty much whenever). I'm on Mountain time.
Possibly stupid question but all the marketing materials are confusing. If I buy the big dumb 30th anniversary combo with witch queen, does that also include the seasons in that year?

Yes, the bundle is the Deluxe Edition of Witch Queen, which includes the Season Pass, the two additional dungeons (which are not in the season pass this year), and the exotic weapon.

Yup! If you're viewing Destiny 2 as your mmo-equilvent (Assuming you have one), and don't mind putting the money down ahead of time (and, to be fair, it's totally understandable if you're a bit buyer beware), then the deluxe editions are very good value. You can often pick them up on special too.

It would be nice if it could look at completed master list sector triumphs for this, but they probably won’t.

Looks like rihgt now you can get it for 65 USD from game billet. Which works out at 5.40 a month, so seems like a decent return on investment.

Yeah I figured the whole big $100 isn't any different than an mmo as long as it comes with the whole years worth of stuff.
