that mary worth has got to be an edit

    right?

Yes, the first panel I posted is an edit.

sadly it doesn't seem too much of a stretch!

Oh god, I read it on the website too and didn't notice!

I feel like she's addressing the audience in that last panel. "That's right, slurp it up you filthy addicts. You love to hate Wilbur, don't you? Well, now our suffering has become your suffering."

You know what? Nanowrimo's cancelled on account of the world is stupid.

    Cambiata only edited Estelle's response

Yeah this is the important bit, Mary Worth's words are straight off the cuff, pure, 100% Mary, no editing needed. Her demonic nature comes out any time you give her a little breathing room.

As for Estelle's words, I just wrote down what she meant in place of what she said.

honestly we make a lot of jokes about mary worth but mary herself is a very realistic portrait of that kind of "don't rock the boat keep the status quo" middle-aged middle-class white person who cannot deal with conflict between people or the idea that their evaluation of someone might not be fully accurate. a lot of "oh he didn't mean that" in a darker storyline. her most consistent politics is not wanting to talk about politics. changes the subject when you ask why wilbur has a nameplate that reads nancy pelosi

So, Mary Worth is actually the titular villain of the comic?

    That's Wilbur.

So, just curious here, how long does it take to have a person declared legally dead after they're seen drunkenly stumbling off a cruise ship?
I don't think Mary would have legal standing to do so (though the eldritch law of the elder things may say differently)
I'm guessing Estelle would be out too.
But his daughter would count as next of kin, right?

    As with many legal questions

    "It depends."

If I give you a dollar that means I'm your client and you have to make a wild-ass guess, right? My Paypal is waiting.

Mary Worth is Loki. Wilbur is Tony Stark.

I was more thinking Mary Worth is the Emperor, Wilbur is Darth Vader.
