My Genji has landed at like 45% win rate in QM, which is acceptable for me. I'm also routinely top damage.
If you are good at auto attackers, you can make Genji work. That doesn't mean Raynor isn't a better choice for 90% of how you'd use him.
Where I'm at, people never actually finish kills so he's been my stab at solving that.
I'm actually really struggling with 45% winrates on my best ranged assassins. They're all super squishy, and this is QM. I'm wondering if that's normal for other people? I'm usually crushing stat-wise, and my Hanzo clobbers people in draft games when I decide I can tolerate the queues.

I think ranged assassins are just at the mercy of QM rng so I wouldn't think about your winrate that much or what it "means". In a mode where what 60%? of the ppl queuing are ranged assassins - your effect on your teammates winrate is kinda washed out. So you did more dmg then there ranged but you got rexxar for a bruiser on your team and they got leo/imperius, who are secretly tanks - it now becomes much harder to do meaningful dmg

Oh man let me tell you though that Fun and Interactive gameplay where a player can just single-handedly stop you from capping an objective for literally 30 seconds while getting XP in another lane and never putting themself in danger boy howdy let me tell you such amazing design that isn't toxic at all it's not like they literally named the ability toxic or anything like that gee whiz what's irony nobody knows who would've thought.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but... I'm pretty sure he could've just ignored the mines and capped it. The mine won't be primed in time. It's very close, but still.

Right at 2:57 when he starts his first cap attempt, a mine is dropped at almost the same time. The mine goes off first by a few seconds. Pretty sure that triggered some PTSD for future cap attempts.

I don't think so. The mine arming time is less than than the capping time by a second or two. Unless Abathur delayed significantly on dropping a mine under each of his cap attempts, he wouldn't have been able to finish. But each of the mines came up pretty shortly after he started the channel.

As long as Abathur has mines, you need 2 people to cap on opposite ends in order to succeed and then both have to move and try to cap again immediately after he drops his mines. Because he has 3 charges so you have to get him to burn all 3 before you can cap.
Like, the amount of coordination required from random players to avoid his bullshit his just stupid.

You also need two people to cap as long as Tyrande has an owl or Deathwing has meteors or whatever. Etc. Like, yes, if people have a way to stall you you either outlast their cooldowns or have multiple people cap.
Don't let your Abathur racism make this out to bigger than it is :P

Tyrande's Owl is on a very long cooldown and doesn't pierce unless you talent for it. Deathwing drops meteors but otherwise can't interact with the game at all.
At the end of the day the fundamental truth is that Abathur is a Fun and Interactive Hero.

Couldn't the second person just pick off the mines while the first caps and the whole thing is done in 6 seconds? Like in that video there, if Nova had just come back into range at the start, couldn't she have shot the nest before it interrupted the initial cap?

Yeah but then Inq wouldn't be able to be as grumpy at Abathur.

Abathur can talent into like 5 total charges on a 2-second cooldown. With just the minimum cast timer, he can spam multiple mines under the same target and interrupt the channel unless you happen to be playing a hero like Tassadar who can cast an AOE that will help to kill the mines over time. The only guaranteed way to channel an objective with minimal downtime is to have multiple heroes channel.
With just two heroes you cannot reliably stop him from stalling for at least 5 seconds, if not longer, unless you do the thing I said and dance around his mines to force him to burn multiple charges trying to stop two people at once who are constantly relocating, instead of being able to concentrate his spam under a single target whose ally may or may not be able to kill them in time. Like, pros in the HGC have gotten stalled out by Abathurs doing this bullshit for far longer than the amount of time it takes to "just kill the mines lol".
This also doesn't include him burning a M.U.L.E. and putting a hat on it to stall even further.
And to bring it back to my original point - why does this one stupid fucking character require such intricate counterplay? Especially given the player never has to put themself in danger to do it? There's literally no risk involved.
I will admit to memeing a little bit but honestly Abathur is trash design from a player balance perspective. He might be "fun" for the people playing him, but he's absolutely toxic for everyone else, often including his own team.
I'm glad they decided against Rag being the same as Abathur.
Speaking of...do you actually need to press D as Ragnaros? I was sidelaning and throwing Lava Wave down whichever lane was open at the time.

Hey, don't get me wrong; I actually like Nova a lot. I think she's secretly very strong.
But you can't deny that the community stigma that she faces is justified.
QM Valeeras and being trash, name a more iconic duo.
