That’s where Terrion Arnold found himself at exactly 10:30 Saturday night, up 24-20, three seconds on the clock with Texas A&M at the 2-yard line. The Alabama cornerback sensed the stakes.
And he knew it was coming his way.
Looking to the Aggie sideline, Arnold later said he locked in on A&M coach Jimbo Fisher.
Speaking of Gameday, they’re back at Tennessee for the first time since… two weeks ago.
Fuck off, ESPN.
Fox has been at our game for four straight weeks so.

There is a decent chance of JMU being undefeated and the highest ranked G5 (depending on if Cincy also wins out in this scenario)
I….don’t know what that gets them in 2022 but in 2024(?) it would mean a first round matchup vs either Bama or Michigan (not sure if top 2 or top 4 get byes in the proposed playoff expansion)
Edit: in Europe right now so I just threw some random picks in at, like, whatever time they went up here while sitting on a train. Didn't even get to watch the games with the time difference
And I would have gotten away with it if it weren't for those meddling Tide!
One of Tennessee's starting safeties was arrested last night for felony aggravated assault. Haven't been following them to know if he's a major contributor though.

I am happy to announce that either Nebraska’s new HC, Iowa’s new OC, or Saban’s next disgraces coach reclamation project is on the market as of this morning
Baker Mayfield is now on his 6th HC in 5 years

The Pac12 has upheld the bogus targeting penalty against WSU G Grant Stephens, so he'll be out for the first half against Oregon State.
Because the LA schools running off to the BIG10 is apparently no reason for the league office to stop simping for them

I've never noticed the Cheez-It Bowl National Team of the Week before, but it's kind of hilarious that for 3 weeks in a row it's gone to the team that just beat Oklahoma. The Sooners are ridiculously cheesy
Hey y’all, I’m on a school trip today (last minute got sent on it, but at least I get to go to UCLA for a bit) so I would not be able to get to the write up until late tonight. Do you guys want me to just post the games now, or would you want to wait for the whole show?
Minnesota @ Illinois (ranked Illinois!)
Kansas @ Oklahoma (Kansas still dogs, lol)
UConn @ Ball St (UConn going for a third win in a row, I know it’s shocking)
Bama @ Tenn
OSU @ TCU
(ranked) NCSt @ (undefeated and ranked) Syracuse
Arkansas @ BYU (this just seems wrong)
(ranked) James Madison @ Georgia Southern
Wisky @ MSU (this is possibly a sickos alert)
LSU @ Florida (also a sickos alert because the fan base of the team that loses is going to have some problems)
Utah St @ Colo St (no clue is it a rivalry game?)
Miss St @ Kentucky (still don’t trust Mike Leach in the SEC but I’m also a dipshit)
USC @ Utah (let’s see if the 2nd best team in LA can beat the Utes too)
New Mexico @ NMST (rivalry!)
UNC @ Duke (…..)
Wazzou @ OSU (sure why not)

SE++ PICK'EMS WEEK SEVEN: BRYAN HARSIN STILL NOT FIRED
Straight Up
#8 Oklahoma State @ #13 Texas Christian (-3.5) - Welcome to Week Seven, aka Bangers Only Week, because this week is filled with a bunch of bangers and also a game with New Mexico. Let's start in the Big 12, with a game that could be a preview of the conference championship game. Both of these teams are still undefeated and have similar resumes, with TCU having perhaps the best win among the two teams after beating *checks notes* the Kansas Jayhawks football team. That's where 2022 is, because TCU has also beaten Oklahoma and that win doesn't look anywhere near as good at this point. This should be a fun Big 12 classic of "Full Send Offense, Defense Optional".
#15 North Carolina State @ #18 Syracuse (-3.5) - Ah yes, another game featuring an unbeaten team, and also NC State. Syracuse definitely feels like the most surprising undefeated team, not because they've really overcome a difficult schedule (their toughest opponent was probably Purdue?) but because they've managed to look competent for most of this season. There are times where they look really good on offense or defense, but never at the same time. It makes it weird that they're the favorites here, because I don't know why you would trust Syracuse at this point. That said, we also just watched NC State beat 2022 Florida State via the same bullshit they would use to beat 2012 Florida State, so I can understand not believing the Wolfpack are a good team either.
Western Kentucky @ Middle Tennessee State (-7.5) - 100 MILES OF HATE! THAT'S RIGHT THIS IS A RIVALRY GAME FUCKERS! Middle Tennessee State beat Miami, which meant we all kinda just forgot about that automatic contract extension Rick Stockstill got at the beginning of the season. Western Kentucky is not as good as they were last year, but when you lose an NCAA record holder and current NFL starting QB, you're going to take a step back. The surprising part is that Todd Helton looks to have stabilized things here? That's an interesting wrinkle as C-USA gets ready for changes.
#4 Clemson (-3.5) @ Florida State - Did DJ Uiagalelei figure it out? The former 5-star had a much-maligned year last year but seems to have put things back together, which is a good thing because the Clemson defense is trash trash trash trash trash. Florida State decided they did not want to beat NC State last week, probably cause they were looking ahead to this one.
#7 Southern California @ #20 Utah (-3.5) - In the preseason, this looked like the conference's marquee regular season matchup, but the shine has come off it a bit. Not because of Southern Cal, although the Trojans have not been as dominant against a weak schedule as you would expect, but because Utah has been merely good instead of the CFP contender they looked to be in the preseason. Also doesn't help that they're coming off an ass-kicking at the hands of UCLA, but that might make this game more intriguing, as Utah really cannot afford to lose another game if it wants to compete for a Rose Bowl bid.
Against the Spread
#10 Pennsylvania State @ #5 Michigan (-6.5) - It's time for everyone's favorite game show: Which Team Is Actually Good? In one corner we have Penn State, a team that has been pretty pedestrian but has a very funny win over Auburn, which feels like it should count for something. In the other corner we have Michigan, a team that feels better but always feel prone to a random explosion (see: last week against Indiana). This game feels like one Michigan should win, and should win comfortably, but we are starting to get due for the random Penn State win that James Franklin uses to justify his continued hostage-taking of the program.
North Carolina (-6.5) @ Duke - Every year we put this game on here, and every year I do a basketball preview, but not today. No, I'm not doing it because I have too much respect for Coach K, and know that the program will be in good hands under *does a quick google search* Jon Scheyer. After all, Coach K possesses too much integrity to have held a year-long funeral procession for his career if he wasn't planning on staying away forever and not meddling in Duke's affairs, ultimately leading to him taking over the team in February as Blue Devil sources leak that Scheyer has "lost the team". And after all, it's not like Coach K has a desperate need to right the greatest wrong he's ever felt, as North Carolina officially won the rivalry forever by retiring K and beating Duke in the Final Four this past year. Coach K has too much integrity to let that fact eat away at him until it ultimately kills him. I have faith that we have finally heard the last of Coach K until at least November.
San Jose State (-8.5) @ Fresno State - THE VALLEY CUP! Can you imagine if I just left it at that and moved on?
SICKOS GAME OF THE WEEK
New Mexico (-6.5) @ New Mexico State - THE RIO GRANDE RIVALRY! Also known as the Battle of I-25, I have newfound hate for this rivalry. I visited New Mexico last year as part of a two-week trip with our graduating seniors, and the entire state is full of gorgeous landscapes and excellent food. No state this pretty should have a rivalry this bad, let alone two teams this bad. I get why they're bad - the state of New Mexico does not produce a lot of football talent in general and these programs do not operate with a ton of money - but at some point one of these teams should have figured out a path to being decent. Alas, in 2022, both of these teams are still awful.
GAME OF THE CENTURY OF THE WEEK (AGAINST THE SPREAD)
#3 Alabama (-7.5) @ #6 Tennessee - WELCOME TO THE MOST CONSEQUENTIAL THIRD SATURDAY IN OCTOBER IN DECADES! I don't know if that's actually true, but based on what I can remember about recent Alabama and Tennessee history, this feels right. Alabama QB Bryce Young is currently a game-time decision, and it really feels like the result of this game hinges on whether he can play or not. If Young is available, Alabama would have an offense that could feasibly keep pace with the high-flying Volunteer attack. If Young is not available, then the Alabama defense may need to play the game of their lives; having seen the Young-less Alabama offense in 1+ games this year, I have zero confidence in them. Though it feels unfair to focus this almost entirely on Alabama, but that's because I feel way more confident in Tennessee in general right now. They have a ridiculous offense led by a Heisman candidate in Hendon Hooker, and that's enough for me to look past their perfectly fine defense. This one should be good.

Fuck off, ESPN.
Top 10 SEC matchup? Never a doubt.

Biggest Jumps: UCLA & Mississippi State (7 spots); TCU & Syracuse (4 spots)
Biggest Drops: Utah & Kentucky (9 spots); Alabama (2 spots)
Joining In: Texas, Illinois, James Madison
Dropping Out: BYU, Washington, LSU
# of Undefeated Ranked Teams: 14 (15 teams overall)
# of Week 7 head-to-head AP ranked matchups: 6 (season high!); 3 matchups vs. unbeaten teams; 2 matchups vs. Top 10 teams
So somehow that means Rutgers will end up ranked next week
(For those curious, the 2nd longest streak of unrankedness of a p5 school is OSU, then Vanderbilt)
Also I think Homefield needs a James Madison shop and we all need to pitch in to make it the biggest debut ever
Sure they're undefeated
They ain't played nobody, Pawwwl
