Speakers (monitors) for Music Recording

Hello all.

I'm looking for advice on good recording speakers. From what I understand, it's important to get something that replicates sound accurately, and, flatly.

I want these to interface with my computer. However, would a $100 cheapo pair of monitoring speakers really be worth it? Or, would a ~$100 pair of PC speakers like BOSE do my bidding?

Thanks.

Those M-Audios aren't bad but they'll require a power amp. The Behringer TRUTH actives are a great value at about $280.

I personally use a set of Tannoy Reveal actives and I'm very happy, but that might be a little much for you.

    Stay away from the BOSE.

Yeah, stay the fuck away from bose, you're better off mixing from headphones than with bose.

Behringer is actually a really good company in general for starter equipment, it's almost always a fantastic value.

Thanks for the brand suggestion. These look nice:

Again, those are passive so you'll need a power amp, which will run you another $100. You'll also want a power amp that's matched well with them, which is why at this level you're really better off getting the actives.
