So I am looking at a new gaming rig, I have not built a computer for 2-3 years. Currently I am looking at a barebones from tigerdirect and adding my own Drives, What do you guys think about it as a gaming rig? I want to be able to play EQ2 and some other graphic intense games and have it last awhile.

is this barebones any good?

That package sure does include a lot for something claiming to be "barebones." In any case, it meets the recommended system requirements for EQ2, but you're gonna want to buy a video card (of course). I wish I knew more about the RAM. Your board supports up to DDR2 800, which might be nice to have.

What operating system are you planning on running?

Not sure how comfortable you are with building, but...

    Athlon64 X2 3800+ $80
    Asus M2NPV-VM Motherboard $90
    Antec NSK4400 Case $80
    Cheap Corsair RAM - 2gigs $60

That's $310 for the same processor but a better case and a non-crappy PSU.
