Gameworks, the big arcade near the convention center and a mainstay in Seattle since 1996, has suddenly closed permanently. So have the other locations across the country.
Damn shame - Gameworks was a great place to keep the PAX vibe going with games, food, and booze. But it's probably a miracle Gameworks lasted as long as it did, since the former owner set a massive amount of money on fire on Oomba, a cloud-based social gaming tournament thing. (Content warning: he's also a sex pest.)

I tried three days this week and they aren't able to open for whatever reason. I will keep trying. ... Because I want to. ... It's like a game!
