Hey if your face does melt off make sure they scoop it up into a jar and save it

On Sunday it started feeling like I got stabbed in the ribs in one small spot on the right side of my chest. Serious pain every time I bend, twist, cough/sneeze/deep breath or do anything that causes the muscles there to tense.

No clue why. I don’t think I bent or twisted weird. The pain has partially subsided at this point. No other symptoms of anything either (fever, nausea, cough, etc.)

I already have an appointment on Friday for my annual physical so I will definitely be asking about it.

How long was this going on for?

I sometimes get that feeling in a spot in the ribs and it is generally a stress reaction for me; my doctor at the time it started happening presumed it was an involuntary spasm of muscles between my ribs, though of course getting opinion from your own doctor is probably the best call

Basically my whole family on my moms side has had their gallbladders removed so that was my first instinct too.

But the pain has been off and on since Sunday evening, and when it hits it HITS, but when it’s not bad it’s still present but barely noticeable.

In case it is the gallbladder I’ve been eating bland foods and the like to try to reduce stress on it.

I’m thankful that I already have this appointment scheduled. If the pain had stayed as bad as it was the first night I would’ve probably gone to an ER (and honestly maybe I should’ve that night)

Day 3: swollen lymph nodes, bloody/incredibly chapped lips, and I'm halfway down on litocaine. The hospital called and wanted to know how I was recovering at home and would I be so kind as to rate my visit to their facility the other night?

I tell ya folks, I'm about thiiiiiis close to calling them up and giving them a piece of my mind, if for no other reason than their decision not to prescribe me painkillers has resulted in the most painful three days of my life!

If you're still suffering after 3 days of antibiotics and the lidocaine isn't doing anything for you, call them up and let them know. Ask if they can get you an actual pain killer prescription instead of an OTC topical anesthetic for the pain.

Please do, it's the only way anything changes. Be thorough and clear why your are unsatisfied. Patient evaluations are one of the only few ways we can make positive changes.

And yeah with that much pain please contact your provider for some relief.

I can't remember the last time I was like, really sick.

I'm sort of a baseline sick all the time, so I never really notice illnesses except like "well slightly warmer today than usual."

sometimes though, I get a mean one that breaks through and just wrecks me.

I kinda like when it does happen though, my body wants to sleep as much as my brain does, I get to act all pathetic "bloo bloo I'm sick abloo bloo"

My daughter brought home a GI bug and I was off so I stayed up all night holding her while she puked every few hours.

Sixteen hours later I got sicker than I have ever been as an adult. I would vomit, feel great for about 45 minutes and try to drink fluid and then vomit again. This continued for like 36 hours. It was almost supernatural in how many times I threw up. I couldn't walk I was so dizzy.

Though I weighed myself when I was past it and lost 9lbs so that was wild.

I had an infection under my teeth that I just took the last antibiotic for

it was mostly ignorable, but if I was eating something dense, when I'd bite down on that side of my mouth, I'd get this itching sensation that was only relieved by biting down really hard to apply pressure to it, which felt great.
