Galv was a crucial component to the Charge variant of Control Warrior (being that the OTK required him or Smite), but I can see why he wouldn't necessarily be an auto-include in a deck without Battlemaster, Faceless, and the minion cost reducer.
Edit: Now that I've had a chance to look at the Warrior section of the report...
The Galvangar OTK variant is weak in Warrior mirrors and is also weaker against the rest of the field, except for a few fringe matchups (Boar Priest, Naga Mage, Curse Warlock), so we struggle to see any justification to playing it on ladder.
This is the primary source of confusion
The Galvanger decks that were based around Galv and exploiting him are bad. Galv himself is still good enough to make the 30 (but he's far from the BEST card in the list and is the sort of card that might wind up cut if the deck continues to exist later in the year, with the new cards printed in later sets) (and also he doesn't make the 30 if you play the list that's focused on Kazakusan, as mentioned)
I needed anime to post. on

they specifically stated that the eledragon kazakus build is the best variant of warrior currently and that don't run no galv
The Dragonmental build is almost as powerful against the rest of the field as the Elemental build but is far better in the mirror.
To me, "almost as powerful" means there is at least some trade-off to making your deck better in the Warrior mirror. Which is the better deck basically comes down to if you're going up against enough Warriors.

I played 8 games of ctrl warrior yesterday and 5 were mirrors, all 5 won by dredging for a discounted brann mutanus and getting kazakusan down once we were topdecking
The secret to dodging mutanus on your dragons is to hold the 1 mana nagalings
I can confirm that VS's casino mage is fun and not that ineffective. It's likely not good for hardcore climbing, but if you've still got stars or you don't care and are looking for something different, it can pull out some crazy wins.
My favorite win so far was against a ramp Druid, me on the coin. I played a mailboxer dancer on turn 2 or 3 so I had two coins. They played Guff on turn 4, so I figured they really wanted to commit to ramping, and I chanced playing Brann on my turn 4. Sure enough, next turn they ramped some more and didn't have enough damage to kill Brann (Wrathed my dancer). My turn 5 I double coin Mutanus and eat a Ysera and Raid Boss Onyxia, right before their 10 mana turn, giving me something like an 18/26 Mutanus.
Not exactly a win off the primary cheese mechanic of the deck, but it still felt great.
Playing Naga quest Druid really throws people off.
They mulligan like I’m going to ramp, and then don’t know what to do if I can pull off an early quest completion and start hitting them for 8-16 damage a turn.

Hearthstone is a completely different game than it was back in the day. Making value plays in a standard environment is almost completely unimportant now thanks to how much draw and other generation there is, as well as the insane strength of removal and win conditions. The mana cheating that goes on in particular is just getting absolutely disgusting, given that non-Druid classes have tons of potential for things like T4 Nellie, Mountain Bear, or Swiftscale Trickster (enabling some BS off of Jackpot).

Tar Creeper wasn't a value play, it was a tempo play for aggro decks. But now you've got infinite mana cheating for better tempo.
As someone who plays a bit of Classic ladder, it's not particularly value focused either. You can get CWar mirrors but overwhelmingly it's Miracle Rogues and Druids trying to do 15+ damage from hand on turns 7-9.

I still run a copy of Tar Creeper in my Wild Shaman Elemental Synergy + Bloodlust deck; it's cheap enough defensive play that powers my "If you played an Elemental last turn" effects on turn 3+.
I'm sure there are better options but I just got back into playing after sitting out for a few years and my options are limited, to say the least.
Nellie's Pirate Ship - text changed from "Deathrattle: Add Nellie’s Pirate crew to your hand. They Cost (1)." "Deathrattle: Add Nellie’s Pirate crew to your hand. They Cost (1) less."
From The Depths - now costs 4 mana instead of 3.
Caria Felsoul - now a 7 mana 7/7 instead of a 6 mana 6/6.
Battleworn Vanguard - now a 2/1 instead of a 2/2
Wildpaw Gnoll - now a 3/5 instead of a 4/5
Lightforged Cariel - now costs 8 mana instead of 7.
Spitelash Siren - now a 5 mana 2/6 instead of a 4 mana 2/5
Earthen Scales - now costs 2 mana instead of 1.

Shield Shatter - now deals 4 damage instead of 5. - pretty substantial nerf to ctrl warrior, a lot of stuff has 5 ass
Tidal Revenant - now gains 5 armor instead of 8. - needed nerf, card was way too good
Nellie's Pirate Ship - text changed from "Deathrattle: Add Nellie’s Pirate crew to your hand. They Cost (1)." "Deathrattle: Add Nellie’s Pirate crew to your hand. They Cost (1) less." - dead, RIP in piss
From The Depths - now costs 4 mana instead of 3. - would have liked to see a further nerf like bottom 3/4 cards instead of 5 but this helps
Caria Felsoul - now a 7 mana 7/7 instead of a 6 mana 6/6. - eh
Battleworn Vanguard - now a 2/1 instead of a 2/2 - pretty huge hit to DH early game now that this can be pinged/dies to a token
Wildpaw Gnoll - now a 3/5 instead of a 4/5 - lmao they nerfed it again after unnerfing
Lightforged Cariel - now costs 8 mana instead of 7. - doesn't change how ridiculous the card is
Spitelash Siren - now a 5 mana 2/6 instead of a 4 mana 2/5 - nobody plays naga mage anyway
Earthen Scales - now costs 2 mana instead of 1. - fairly big change, means you can't chain scales from moonlit guidance on the same turn unless you have ramped a lot, and gives the opponent an opportunity to remove the fatty
Lightning Bloom - text changed from "Gain 2 Mana Crystals this turn only. Overload: (2)" to "Refresh 2 Mana Crystals. Overload: (2)." - massive change, cards probably dead
Mr Smite - now costs 7 mana instead of 6 - reminiscent of the leeroy nerf
School Teacher - now a 4/3 instead of a 5/4. - i called this one, would also have liked to see 'nagaling can only discover a 1 or 2 cost spell' since some 3 costs are very powerful (at least it can no longer cast from the depths)
there's enough nerfs that it's possible some weird decks that were being held down by their CWar or FDH matchup can come out and surprise us, but i feel like the winners here are naga priest, beast hunter, and holy paladin
i really feel that the format needs a real aggro deck. aggro lists are so fucking bad right now, you can tell that they were afraid of Drek'thar and pulled down on how aggressive 1-3 drops could be. now we're in a drektharless world and midrange soup is on the menu
it's annoying that there's basically only one DH deck. the class isn't getting the diversity of strategies that the others get
cariel nerf might matter if there were more aggro decks like i mentioned but i'll be surprised. the weapon is so warping.
people are going to be furious if mine rogue comes out of this patch actually good

well mine rogue barely got dinged so i think its going to be problematic
decks shouldn't be able to kill you on turn 5 with the only counterplay being 'be ctrl warrior or holy pala'
I think I have every Legendary in that list except for Cariel. And the School Teacher nerf is some nice redemption for me getting two from packs. 800 dust there (I've already got the two undustable golden ones from the rewards track).
Wildpaw Gnoll would have been a fine "thief" payoff card, but the problem is that Maestra of the Masquerade makes drawing your own class cards discount it instead so you get 0 mana fat rushes offering easy board control T3 or 4 without even having to play an outright thief card in your deck otherwise.
Yeah this patch seems like Questline Priest's best chance so far to shine and make people ragequit. I hope it doesn't become prominent after feasting on the initial post-patch jank.
lol there still tons of people WHO JUST DON'T KNOW. They be making boards after i snapped off a grave-whatever after having played xyrella. I'm like no dude you gotta mutanus. And then theres people who play mutanus before i complete the quest 0_o
edit: coming in with the 1k priest win portrait and legend cardback does help intimidating wise
double edit: wtf is that watch post doing there that need to be a tuskarrrr. (although it did help in the pala matchup)

Where did you see that? They said Galv is good and put him in their non-Kazak build.
This is the primary source of confusion

"Why would anyone do drugs when they could just eat an opponent's quest reward Tavish with Mutanus on turn 7?"
I recognize that Big Beast Hunter is supposedly tier 3 right now.
But wow, it's eating everything in my path so far this season.
I love STOMP STOMP so much.
I think it's very dependent on how its built. Its hardly a refined decklist
simpler days
They mulligan like I’m going to ramp, and then don’t know what to do if I can pull off an early quest completion and start hitting them for 8-16 damage a turn.
sludge belcher?
Amusingly, Tar Creeper is a Core card now and I don't think I've seen it played once this year. I guess a solid 2017 card is just junk now.

Typical. The authorities never forget to cut Education's budget.
Tar Creeper buff!
I'm glad I didn't bother crafitng Rokara for Warrior. Can't imagine Warrior is going to be too good for climbing now.
