Lotta card changes. Can't wait to see how many pop up when I search my collection for "refund". Although a good number of them are core or that new twist set that I didn't waste gold on (hopefully I got some hits in the couple of free packs they gave away).
Interesting that they're buffing those DK cards by loosening the rune restrictions. Not sure exactly how much better Plague DK will be by not being chained to frost, but at least there might be more than one way to build the deck now.
I’m not sure sindragosa was really a full buff, considering that blood DK is probably the deck that wants to discover it and can’t now.
Yeah, I was considering putting "buffing" in scare quotes but didn't bother. Also, fuck Blood DKs anyway.
Got about 4k dust from all the refunds, so nothing too crazy. 1600 from Tony was the biggest haul.
God i love this dumb deck. I always was a control priest main but this is hilarious.
the t5 blowouts are nice but the best wins are the sunwell + astalor wins tho. All running out of gas and then BOOM: handful of spells, 8 armor and a 14 dmg burst. Which aggro deck has access to that?

Wow, they took one look at Tony Druid post-patch and said uh-uh, no way:
Hearthstone Update
The Jailer has been temporarily banned from Standard and Wild
Dev Comment: We’re putting The Jailer in jail for his crimes against the meta. When we made our last set of changes, Druid was still developing as a class following the Mini-Set. After our changes were locked in, Tony Druid appeared as a top archetype in Standard. We know that we want to adjust something in that deck in our next balance window, and we also know we don’t want this deck to warp the meta in the meantime, so we’re temporarily banning The Jailer until our next scheduled balance patch.
The Jailer will be released on bail (unbanned) in our next scheduled balance patch. At that time, we’ll make other adjustments to address Tony Druid and anything else that needs tweaking.
I'm glad they rushed out an emergency fix for that. The deck is toxic as hell.
Although ever since the Jailer was revealed, it was quite apparent that it was one of those cards that was going to be generally bad, but you knew there were eventually going to be some shenanigans decks (Druid all time #1 shenanigans class thanks to ramp/armor/draw) that would be cheating it out early or comboing it in unintended ways.
I tried using the Priest titan to wish away some immune enemies and nothing happened. That is, I could select the two enemy minions to remove from the game but there was no effect.
Yeah Immune does not permit targeting. It has to be non-targeted removal
Shard of the Naaru, the mass non-targeted silence, also does nothing. Which doesn't make sense. Immune should either allow Silence to remove Immune status or Immune should not allow any removals to work.

Piracy Tony is a bad card and I have decided that, pretty art or no, I can use 1600 dust elsewhere.

Well the Immune is not an attribute placed on the cards, it’s an aura on your hero

As emnmnme describes it, they were able to target the minions with Aman'Thul's effect, but it just used the ability and did nothing, which isn't how I'd expect the "no targeting" thing to go. Like you just straight up can't cast a targeted minion battlecry/spell against immune minions. I would have expected Aman'Thul to get an error message trying to target for removal, similar to this:

Dang, Jailer jailed. Good on them.
I'm not even seeing that deck in the dumpster ranks. All I ever get are plague and / or unholy aggro DKs. And I'm pretty sure 90% of those are bots. So right now I'm just trying to farm them with control mage. I haven't been able to put together anything better, but it seems to be working.
How abusive is playing standard or whatever the ladder is these days? Are there still a good amount of people or does everyone just play autobattler. And has the f2p been absolutely gutted? Been like years since I've played but might give it a shot.
I'm not 100% sure what you're asking, but for me Standard queue times are very short and I don't generally notice myself facing the same opponents multiple times.
Battlegrounds is still f2p, but you only get to pick from two heroes instead of four unless you pay for the season pass, so it's been partially gutted.

If I wait 15 seconds in the Standard queue, I've waited a long time.
Wait times are way worse in battlegrounds. And matches are terrible, often with only 4 players because the others quit since they didn't get the hero they wanted.
Sic transit gloria mundi.

Can't say either of these happen for me. I'm guessing quitting is more rampant in the lower ranks?
Personally speaking there's a lot of anomalies that I'm not really super interested in playing. Stuff like Little League is a novel little experience once. Sure my rating might drop, but so what? I'm here for fun and some of them just don't land.

I had one the other day where the "everybody is Denathrius" anomaly popped and six other players immediately resigned. Free win!

Probably. I always quit if it's a boring hero/anomaly and am f2p, so my rank is in the dumpster.

I do have to revise this a bit, because from basically Gold 10 to Platinum 10 I fought nothing but bots. Some of them may have been Blizzard bots, but the vast majority of them were definitely account farmers. All unholy DKs, identical decks, all making the exact some plays, taking 45 seconds to do the most obvious shit, and absolutely flummoxed by a secret or a taunt. I wanted to hit 1k wins on my Druid, but the deck I had just wasn't suited for those bots, so I put together a casino mage deck full of AOE and removal. Eventually I'd just win with a bunch of skeletons or Yogg.
Now that I'm out of gold I seem to be playing actual people again but holy shit these account farmers are out of hand.
I don't care about autobattler at all. Mostly I just wanted to know if f2p was nerfed to hell if I want to play standard. I don't really want to have to buy a shit ton of packs to dust cards to buy all the legendaries.
I don't know when you last played, but overall I would say Standard F2P isn't particularly nerfed vs. what it was, say, 5 years ago. You need to play pretty diligently to get a decently robust card collection without spending cash, but that's how Hearthstone has always been.

VS report is up this week and it's got a Boogie Earthen variant in there.
I was messing around with your copy and then found this one early in the week and have bounced around to D10 with it. All games feel competitive minus the absolute nut draws from the occasional Druid or Warlock.
Druid, Death Knight, or Warlock is easily 50 percent on my end.
I was playing pretty regularly to push into Diamond, hit Plat 1 with 1-2 stars to go and dropped all the way back to three because it seems that no matter what I cannot find a deck that has a reasonable matchup against all three. Druid and warlock feel like absolutely dogshit to play against. DK is a little better because I feel like they can't answer literally everything I do all.
I was running over a druid who did nothing all game. Turn 8, at 7 life, the druid refills their entire hand, gains a bunch of armor, plays Yogg for 0 mana to clear my entire board, and then plays five 4/6 taunts. Fantastic.
Every druid deck right now just does some crazy explosive bullshit from hand around turn 7-8 that either kills you outright or gives them an insane board while clearing yours that kills you next turn unless you've got your own bullshit.

Contaminated Lasher refreshing FOUR mana is just a depressing thing to watch.

It's a very fun deck! The way you just keep recasting your Titan and powering up your minions with free buffs is very, very rewarding.

That's interesting. I'm getting more mileage out of Tears bringing Earthens/Disciple back vs. aiming for Amitus. He tends to be instant stabilization/lethal vs. multi-need.

I think we mean the same thing as the tears bring those back alongside the Titan. He is easier to get in the pool with this deck thx to the deck ordering, which is why he pops up more in my games.

Boom: priest, shaman, mage and rogue all at 1000
Meanwhile my warlock sits at 125 lol.
edit: even worse i had to switch to miracle rogue D; the skill ceiling of mech rogue in current meta taps out at plat 1
edit 2:And back to mech rogue with a yogg prison and a dr boom. Pff diamond has never been this hard. But i'm a final boss away now
