If Imp zoo is good, then this is a nice payoff card, but man it's a bit hard to envision it competing with some of the bullshit flying around right now:
Gargons are just reskins of the normal Hunter Companions:
Hey that's a neat card. It's fucking terrible, but it's neat. On a tech level I like that it can "remember" the 3 that died
e: thinking still bout tech - it's neat that it only checks attack, because theoretically, right, it can't remember the health as anything but 0 because it snapshots at that moment. Neat! Just a little card that probably took some guy a decent chunk of work to properly code, that won't get played.

It's an extremely conditional Do Nothing Big when there's way better choices and much easier options for Bigs. Cheaper, too.
The conditional itself is atrocious! It's not like you're gonna exactly plan out playing Big Stat minions just for this Do Nothing 7 drop! You're playing shit on curve so like maybe that means you get stuff like some 1 drops and 2 drops dying instead and then it's Even Worse

Casting all three is random order, but does carry the bonus so that the third one cast is +2 vs. the first one.
If it's consistent with other self scaling cards like schemes or the rank spells (I know, consistently inconsistent) it will increase the digit numbers and ignore the text numbers.
So Extinction would do n+1 damage twice, Phantasms will make two n+1/n+1s, and Dimensions will draw two cards and lower their cost by n+1.
I get why they're not Fel spells for balance reasons, but also, it annoys me that they have like zero synergy with the existing spell-based demon hunter deck because of it

Consistently inconsistent indeed. Conviction, Imp Swarm, and Wings of Hate already don't work that way.

Wait what, Unity is merging with the company best known for its malware delivery system, so popular that it has its own entries in VirusTotal, was blacklisted on Windows by MS, and was used to spread fake flash installers through the Equifax site?! What??

If any set was perfect for their first neutral spell, this would be it. Feels like there should be a neutral quest with steps that simulate solving the murder

I still don't understand how you murder someone in the afterlife.

As I recall, they didn't figure that out until the series finale and it took a considerable effort.

That's how you actually murder someone in the Afterlife.
The writers invent a state or death which combines a religious death (you go to the Afterlife) with an Atheist death (you cease to exist).

It's going to be interesting to see how much of an impact Infuse has on the meta (as the cards are now, without any nerfs/buffs).
"Powers up in your hands from your minions dying" cards have historically been terrible and unplayable. Now, infuse is different in that the base cards aren't nearly as shitty (5 mana 1/1, 5 mana 1/7, lul), a lot of the Infuse payoffs are more instant and useful than "you played a big overstatted minion for 5 mana because you had a bunch of tokens die early", and they seem to be trying to support them with a fair number of new cards that try to get minions down on your side (e.g., exploding skeletons for Mage).
But as a whole, Infuse cards are still bad topdecks unless you happened to start the turn with a lot of board to trade, and even then not in some cases. It's a bit like the Corrupt keyword in that way, where a Corrupt card generally was not useful when drawn, and would have to sit in your hand for at least a turn to get powered up. And Corrupt did see a pretty good amount of play.
Pfft, not against MY quest priest deck with the mega healing. My last game was against a Prestor Druid and I burned through all of my opponent's cards while always staying above 20 HP.
It's worth noting the sacked minion goes back in hand. Not sure that makes it better or worse.

I'd be delighted if the single-player adventure for this expansion is an earnest murder mystery with clues and multiple suspects to accuse.

Well what specifically I find interesting is that it's snapshotting on-board stats. Frostmourne and Sivara remember the literal cards.

I'd say Extinction is also bad for its first cast unless your opponent has a couple Peasants or a single 3/2.
So Extinction would do n+1 damage twice, Phantasms will make two n+1/n+1s, and Dimensions will draw two cards and lower their cost by n+1.

And for what it's worth, Prestor Druid is favored in that matchup anyway.
it's always strong to cheat secrets, but cheating secrets for 4 mana is a lot worse (twice as worse!) than cheating them at 2
But
Rogues don't have any secrets anymore!
edit: This implies we are getting at least 2 secrets for Rogue this set, or else this card is not great until next set.
Pretty much Cat Trick. Effective, but yawn.
Now here's something new.
They're also getting some other Secret support, including one of their legendaries(!):
I don't know if 4 total secrets in deck is enough to support trying to play all that, though.
I miss the old rogue secrets
