I’m out pulling up stakes for the ruinous legendaries. Two of my yellow stakes just… aren’t there. One of them is even somewhere super obvious so I shouldn’t be just overlooking it. I’ve tried restarting the game to no avail. Any ideas? I even went to the seal to see if I’d pulled them earlier and forgot, but one of the chains is still in place.
One of the yellow stakes is underground, so if you're just following a map, that could explain that one. Here's hoping the second is one you pulled earlier and just forgot about.
I personally haven't heard of anyone having issues with stakes not spawning or something, but knowing this game, it wouldn't surprise me.
I’m following a guide, I know I’ve been to all the right locations (found the underground one). The one that’s gone is behind that gym, which I could have found just through normal play. The other is on the southern waterfall, and I’ve been all over it and nothing. That’s one I may have pulled before following a guide tho. I’m reading that if you happen to pull stakes before actually finishing the history classes, you can bug it out. Or so it seems. Probably no Icerend legendary for me
FYI - if you go to the doors you can see how many locks are still left on them. This would be a good way to double check what the game at least thinks you're missing (like if you forgot pulling one).
If this really is a bug, I wonder how this is treated if you visit a friend's world? Like, could you potentially get credit for the bugged stake if you (if possible) pulled it out on a different world where it still existed? That's sort of a long-shot hail mary play if there's actually a bug here, no idea if it'd work.
There’s one chain on it. If I visited someone else, wouldn’t that just bug theirs maybe?
It’s ability capsule you can buy, that switches between two non-hidden abilities. The Ability Patch (to switch to a hidden ability) can’t be bought, only earned in raids.
Ahh, so there's only one you need then. Must have gotten the other one and forgotten (or something, the game thinks you got it :P). I honestly have no idea if it'd bug another person's world. TBH I suspect the stakes are probably tied to the world specifically so all you'd be doing is unlocking that stake for the friend, but I don't know.
You might also want to check your guide - maybe it's just wrong about the location? People throw these things up the day the game comes out so it wouldn't surprise me if there are errors here and there.
No, I don't think so. The guide I followed had screenshots even, and was correct with the other 31 stakes. Luckily I hadn't pulled any of the other stakes, so at least I got three of them (and one is the fish, which is the one I really wanted). Maybe I can get a touch trade of the last one to at least get a pokedex entry.
Has there been a consensus around what the most OP type|type/teratype is? I've been curious if there was an agreed upon "best" theoretical combo, whether or not it exists or is achievable
Seems like it's gonna be a case by case basis, I'm typically looking for the ones that'd give an immunity, so like ghost, steel, fairy, etc. Especially if they're otherwise weak to that type. Ghost Tyranitar for instance, instead of being 4x weak to that fighting move you were about to use, what if I'm instead completely immune
I don't know how technical you wanna get but I think the motorcycle dragon and other 2 starters are the only actual trade required required entry. Doing co-op with the opposite game will let you catch all the other exclusives. It's a technicality but it counts!
Ceruledge/Armorouge I think too? Unless they show up in raids.
I've seen online Armarouge raids in my Violet game
OTOH, is a Grass type gonna wanna switch in on a Sun-boosted Lava Plume? It’s something to consider, at least. And it’s neat that Torkoal could swap its weakness chart entirely that way.
Sun teams have interesting potential for type variety too, now, with Protosynthesis being a thing.
I’d say the biggest knock against Torkoal as a Sun setter is the very existence of Koraidon. Not only is Orichalcum Pulse just Drought but better, but Koraidon has a typing that resists most of the counters to fire types on its own, and he doesn’t need to worry overmuch about stealth rock.
But I guess that’s not too fair, since Koraidon’s a friggin’ box legend.
Well it depends on format. Ranked for example doesn't have access to the legendaries, and stealth rock isn't very good in the doubles format, so neither of those features really matter. What's usually gone well for Torkoal is that he's one of the best options if you want to exploit Trick Room strats, on account of his being so slow

Did the Fire base mission. Clearing out the grunts was trivial, but the boss's Varoom was tankier than I expected. Klawf managed to clutch out a victory.
Now I'm grinding up some Ground types for the Levincia gym.

Another big thing with Torkoal is that he is very slot efficient in a doubles format. Most good doubles teams have more than one mode or gameplan they can go for and having a Sun Setter + Sun Abuser + trick room sweeper all in one pokemon means he's really easy to slot in to a bunch of different team comps as a backup plan.
Now that i have collected all of the Scarlet Paradox shiny i shall hunt the Blaze breed Tauros exclusive to Scarlet!
Narration - Zunde was found trampled to death in a field. Because Tauros are massive jerks and accidently getting into combat with one of them means you're probably going to end the battle surrounded with 30 of them on top of you
Is there a Slowking someplace to catch, or do I have to trade evolve one if I want to complete my Dex? I'm looking through the last ~50 Pokemon I've got left to find, and I think that's the only non-version exclusive that requires a trade since there's that person who'll trade a Haunter.
Is it wrong to assume the storywriters intended her to function in combat essentially like a Swiss Eevee Knife? I guess she only ever uses Umbreon, but in theory she's got a bunch of them to help out with

You can actually pull Slowking and the other trade evolution pokemon out of 5 star raids so keep an eye out.

I think that was a plan at some point
I wonder if Star bases were originally all double battles and she used a different Veevee for each one

I found a team for competitive that I have enjoyed messing with in ranked (beginner tier):
This is singles, right? I'm not really in a position to offer advice, since I'm purely a spectator, but I'd be curious what pokemon are giving you the most trouble. This team is really off-meta (Garganacl and Breloom are the only exceptions), so it's hard to expect how well it does. I don't know that I've seen a Veluza or Noivern once.

Veluza is the first one in thinking of putting on the chopping block honestly.
Still too early to have a list of who is giving me trouble yet but I think I'm still trying to get into the groove of how opponents are running their teams.

You can find it in a raid if you're lucky, but I can trade you one if you need it.
Funny you say that, because this afternoon I managed to find a raid in my game for a Slowking. I'm inclined to wonder if it is weighted based on Pokémon you haven't yet caught, since I also got a Scizor and a Hattrem today, neither of which I had before.
What does it mean when a Tera raid icon has a white shine to it (as opposed to the black shine for 6-star raids)? I’ve found 3 such raids today and all of them were Tyranitar.

White Shine is whatever the current raid event is. Tyranitar/Salamence are the current raid event Pokemon.
after 12 sandwich buffs the Blaze Breed Tauros shiny has been claimed.
I did Encounter fire 3/Sparkle 3 sandwich for hunting it but the way Blaze breed Tauros works is that a pack of normal tauros will spawn with a SINGLE blaze breed in the pack.

This one guy with a Dudunsparce keeps spamming Glare at a mon who has the barrier up. IT’S NOT GOING TO WORK, JUST ATTACK
And speaking of snow, I got me a Tera fire Baxcalibur in a raid. Fun
Turned the Iron hands i sent to myself into a raid breaker and now i just need to hunt the paradox shiny and send them back to violet.
That makes it a pretty terrifying tank tbh
I've seen online Armarouge raids in my Violet game
Never been quick enough to get into one though
Well, with Drought engaged it's now gonna really not want to go up against a Solarbeam. But maybe with a different ability?
Sun teams have interesting potential for type variety too, now, with Protosynthesis being a thing.
But the first thing I thought about was Gastrodon with any type that resists Grass

It gets white smoke so it can boost with curse or whatever fairly easy
Though, Gastrodon has Water and Ground STAB to kill ground and rock types. But those moves are very common anyway.

Combined with another guy with Miraidon giving it Electric Terrain, it wiped us without us doing any damage

…so. Do I use this first one to make my Tera Fighting Scizor able to have Technician, or do I make my Skeledirge have Unaware?

I'd like to get my shiny charm before this Varoom outbreak disappears at midnight
