Damn @UncleSporky, that's a long time to hold onto a quote.
Also @ED!, you should contact Claire Forlani. I know she's married with a kid, but you never know!
Sometimes when I see predictions I toss in a Google Calendar notification to ping me once a year.
There was also one for NeoGAF predicting the end of physical media by the end of the PS4 generation. "Stores will only stock the 3 most popular games physically and that's it." But I ain't goin' back to that site.
I swear I've seen it in writing somewhere official of it saying "Use the included cable, or the cable powering your Switch dock to charge the controller". That said, for some reason, I thought the Switch's power brick was actually nothing more than a USB C cable connected to a USB power brick. I double checked though and it's actually just an AC plug with a C plug at the end of it. ...It'll still charge the controller and anything else with a C hole.
My whole power and cable management thing is kind of a hodgepodge. I have a Nintendo USB C cable plugged into the front slot of my PS5 to charge the Dualsense, and also the Pro controller when needed. Meanwhile I have a Nintendo power brick (from the SNES Classic I think) plugged into the wall with a micro USB cable plugged into that, and that's used to charge the occasional micro device. Which at the moment is a set of Gold Wireless Headphones. When it comes to charging and cables, there is true equality going on here.
A lot of that is just legalese that way if by some chance you do charge an [insert company device name here] with a $2 cable from china and it burns your house down the company can say that they put it on the box to only use their provided charger.
Also a way for them to try and deny repair claims in the future. I remember way way back with my PSX Sony tried to deny warranty service on the CD drive because I had a third party RF adapter.

Alright , triangle strategy done. Save file says it took me about 20 hrs. I recommend it .
Wow. That's... a lot shorter than I'd have expected.
I'm barely halfway through and have about 20 hours, though this is because I kept grinding in the demo for lot longer than any normal person should.
I think you're intended to play through multiple times because there are major split points that change the story drastically. There are multiple endings and New Game+.
Depending on your definition of "proper", there was that one minigame in one of the 3DS Kirby games where you ran around in 3D using the inhale-and-barf-stars mechanic to fight waves of enemies. But if you're talking about the whole "go from point A to point B, either shooting enemies into one another or eating them for their powers" core gameplay loop, this is the first one in 3D.
They made that Planet Robobot minigame into a full length eShop game, Kirby's Blowout Blast. Still no absorbing powers, but it has proper point A to point B levels, and playing swiftly and skillfully enough to meet the requirements for unlocking hard mode in each set of levels is surprisingly difficult. It's a really fun speed running game.
If you're expecting high difficulty in a Kirby game, maybe the series isn't for you.
Edit: At least for the main game. There's always bonus modes for difficulty, or at least a slightly higher one.
Yep, the core of Kirby has always been as an easy game anyone can play; it's why, for example, he's almost always had limitless flight, in early games simply by pushing Up on the Control Pad. But even the first the game had a much harder mode activated with a button combination revealed after beating the normal mode, where max health was halved, enemy positions and/or behaviors were altered to be harder to deal with, and bosses were much more aggressive.
Kirby's Adventure on NES I feel like is one of the few games I could see a kid actually completing. The series definitely has been more about fun than difficulty.

I've only played through the first two chapters of the Triangle Strategy demo this weekend, but it's gotten me pretty close to considering making a purchase for the full game. I could have probably expected its relatively modest game length from the way that unit abilities and item progression were set up.
In a way, it's kind of refreshing to have a modern major-studio RPG of that length. Kind of harkens back to the days of older games of the 16-bit era and thereabouts. And with the intention of making decisions matter, it's nice for the game to tell its stories in a length that allow players to see alternative paths in a reasonable timeframe. Compare that to a game like Fire Emblem: Three Houses, where I think I put 100 hours into one path and didn't want to invest energy into playing through the others.
The sheer number of people i have seen complaining that Triangle Strategy has a lot of text and story tickles me pink.
It's like buying a dark souls game and complaining that you died.
I think most people are interested in the game because of the comparisons to FFT (the combat and classes and stuff) and not necessarily the story itself.
The comparison to 13 Sentinels is concerning because holy shit I spent a total of 3 or 4 hours playing the game and only 15 seconds of that was actually playing the game and not reading a VN. There is a healthy balance between combat and story. FFT essentially opens with a tutorial battle to teach you the basics. Not hours of dialogue spit at your face.
Also noting that I haven't played the game yet and I absolutely plan to.
I've seen some people arguing against the perception that it's Final Fantasy Tactics, and that really it's in the mold of Shining Force 3. And I completely agree with that.
FFT had a complex job system with every character being able to be fully customized. It also limited the number of field party members to 5 at a time (6 with a guest) and didn't have any "walking around" exploration/talking in towns.
In Shining Force, every character is unique in their abilities; you don't customize individuals as much as you customize the battle team you go with. And to support this design it let you field 12-ish characters at once, battles were bigger. And between battles, you can physically explore towns, buy things and talk to people.
Ah that's kind of a shame. Maybe I'll wait for it to drop in price then.
Definitely play the demo, it gives a good overview of character upgrade systems (there is some customization), and it transfers to the full game. It's the opening hours up to level 5.

Welp, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe went on sale for $40 so screw it, buying the game. I didn't buy it originally since I owned it on Wii U and played the shit out of it there, but now with all the new tracks coming I figure there's value on picking it up again. But I wanted to wait for a sale and this is likely as low as it's gonna get (DekuDeals says this matches the previous low). On the plus side, thanks to getting it on Amazon and my Amazon credit card points it was practically free :P (granted this is in place of getting something else paid for on Amazon with the points :P)
Cross-posting this for some helpful info. This guy tested the burn-in for the OLED Switch... By leaving the same exact image on screen for 3600 hours without stopping and he's finally able to see some burn in.

Was burn-in a problem on the older model? I'd not heard that.
The old one was just LCD, burn-in is specifically a concern with OLED devices. People say it's a mostly solved problem now but others can't forget how initial OLED screens had a measurable, inevitable lifespan.
Many people in the comments say even their 10 year old OLED Vitas don't even have burn-in, but I've previously seen scattered reports that some have gotten it on them.

No. modern LCD's don't generally have burn in issues. OLED panels still do eventually burn in on static images, though the newer ones are drastically better than early OLED panels from 10 years ago.
Mario day sale is live. I picked up New Super Mario Bros U deluxe and might pick up yoshis crafted world. discounts aren't spectacular but they're as good as first party nintendo games ever get so if you're interested in the games on sale and don't own them this is a rare chance at a sale.

It has been a fond wish of mine that Sega would bring over the full game of Shining Force 3 to the US on some system since they just did the first part of the game [It was a 3 part game from three different stories and 3 different characters ] But I know Shining Force has taken a weird path since the days of being a tactical rpg

Yeah this. I ended up grabbing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe from Amazon so I could use my Amazon points on it, but it was also on sale at Best Buy and the eShop (eShop was like $2 more for some reason... maybe it baked the tax into the price?) and probably other places.
I hate how easy it is to turn on tilt controls in Mario kart by accident . I thought my pro controller was fucked just 3 months after I bought it . Anyway three stars in every cup in every category in Mario kart done before the dlc ! May do the time trials but I’ve never been a big time trial guy rather just look at the records whenever they get uploaded to YouTube . 200cc is fun , I know this is an old reference but it makes me feel like 150cc in the original did.

Picked up Mario 3D World on the Mar10 day sale. Maybe now I can retire my Wii U? Well no because there's a bunch of virtual console stuff trapped in there. Sigh.

And if I were to judge by the demo at least 10-15 of that would be dialogue. Does the combat ratio increase substantially later?
It does , it’s really only the first chapters that only have one battle. Later on 2-3 are the norm.
Good. I'm having a real tough time getting into the game because it is so heavy in walls of text in the first couple of hours.
