[Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness] OPEN SPOILERS Things just got outta hand.
Directed by Spider-Man, Evil Dead, Drag Me to Hell and Army of Darkness director Sam "Bonesaw" Raimi is ready to direct his MCU debut about his other favorit Ditko created hero. Starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Xochitl Gomez, Elizabeth Olsen and many more, this is the latest mind bending entry in both the Dr Strange and Marvel storyline. Picking up after the events of Spider-Man No Way Home, Dr Strange comes face to face with the consequences of his time meddling actions!
That looks more like Spidey to me. But I do see why people think it might be Deadpool.
Could be but the eyes are too small

There's a rather sinister detail hidden in the trailers...
Wanda's creepy "I don't think that's fair" line takes place in the same scene as Strange innocuously approaching her in the orchard. She does a costume change and the sky turns evil red, while Strange remains in his civvie clothes. So Wanda's nice little cabin stuff is a fuckin' illusion, I guess? Oof.

This was another thing leaks called
that the orchard was fake and the actual house was in a haunted looking forest

Yea same, and in general looking forward to more magic and wizardry. I love the Tony Stark era the first ten years of MCU have been, but it felt like hand-waved super technology did a lot of background heavy lifting which both strained suspension of disbelief and also put a cap on how wild things could get.
"Magic gone wild" could lead to some really cool things, I'm not a comics guy so not sure what's in store or have anything I'm hoping for, but for me this movie and the Loki series has me the most optimistic about the future of the MCU, I thought multiverse stuff would be a bit dumb but after No Way Home I'm all in.

I was watching this last night and it pointed out quite a few things I didn't notice:
(edit: I'll put the video under the spoiler tag since the thumbnail might be a spoiler to someone if they don't wanna watch the trailer)
I like their theory with the Captain Marvel-looking character being Superior Iron Man. They point out it looks like a guy with a goatee and perhaps this version of Iron Man had fully integrated the Tesseract with his suit which gave him Captain Marvel-like abilities (since that's how she got her powers).
I'm also super super curious about that tiny glimpse of a cartoon world.
I think I also like their theory that Defender Strange dies at some point and that's why there's that scene with a big statue of him in that one scene. And so the Zombie Strange might be Defender Strange. But we'll see I guess.
Interesting ideas also about Chthon being a major antagonist. Does make some sense with all the Wanda stuff. I do personally find it weird there's a few mentions of "nightmares" which got me thinking of the character Nightmare, but who knows.
I'm excited for What If? cameos tho. Friggin' Captain Carter will be amazing (she always made sense to me as the more significant cameo, both being the first one in What If? and also one of the more different scenarios... like, outside of Star Lord T'Challa which flat out can't happen now, most of the others are more-or-less their same characters with maybe a different personality or different events in their universes... and you don't wanna spend a ton of time explaining why THIS Thor is not the same as other Thor, etc. Seeing Peggy in a Captain America uniform kind of explains itself). Also Baba YagaZombie Wanda is back ftw!
Yet more speculation and leaks, no click for real if you wanna go in fresh.
for real spoilers potentially
"One example of the impact of those deviations is having Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch) become Captain Marvel in the reality where the Illuminati imprison Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). Randolph makes it clear that it’s Captain Marvel fighting Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) in the trailer. Maria is the superhero in the scene above, rather than Carol Danvers (Brie Larson).
Similarly, the YouTuber suggests there might be a reality out there where Obadiah Stane got rid of Tony Stark. In that reality, Stane would become Iron Monger, replacing Iron Man.
Jeff Bridges played Stane in the MCU’s main reality, where RDJ’s Tony Stark prevailed. But Tom Cruise might be the Obadiah Stane variant to become Iron Monger in the reality where Stane defeats Stark."

I thought someone enhanced that image and it was actually Jonathan Majors as presumably Iron Lad or something? It at least really looked like a guy.

It sounds like he's screwed and he fully realizes it, but maybe it'll mean newer creators will be more careful about who they sign up with or get better terms.
Marvel has always operated in this shitty fashion; it sucks because there's a large list of people who created iconic characters for them who went on to hate or otherwise dislike Marvel and how they would go on to use their characters. It's particularly silly though when these characters are like Deadpool, where the original creator has very little to do with what made the character popular in the first place. Still, I think fighting for better compensation is a valuable fight... Just probably an insurmountable one against Disney...
Stan Lee got to die a hero but irl he burned quite a few people and slapped his name on characters he had little to do with
America Chavez' co-creator, Joe Casey, said he's turned down Marvel's standard low ball compensation for Dr. Strange 2 (it's usually $5K)
Casey has not received payment for America Chavez, outside of the page rates he got when working for Marvel as a writer, when he and artist Nick Dragotta introduced the character in 2011. (Casey rejected what he describes as a “pittance” of an offer ahead of her Multiverse of Madness appearance.)
Now, as Casey speaks out for the first time about his compensation, he is cautious not to sound aggrieved. The writer says he hopes going public will help other creators receive better terms when their work is turned into films, streaming series and action figures.
“The fact is Marvel owns America Chavez. That’s not in dispute on any level, but there are still systemic flaws in the way that creators are neither respected nor rewarded,” Casey tells The Hollywood Reporter.
Marvel publishing declined to comment, noting it does not speak out on individual creator agreements. During his time at Marvel, Casey never signed any paperwork regarding the character, though he understood Marvel owned anything he created there.
Personally, while I generally side with the original creators, Casey knew full well he was doing work for hire when he created the character and that he was giving up all creative rights to Marvel. Like, thats specifically what he was being paid for. He could have kept America Chavez to himself and done an Image series or his own creator-owned series and retained full rights, but he didn't, he knowingly gave away full rights to Marvel in exchange for upfront money. Like, that was the whole gig. It would be nice if Marvel gave creators like him more money and recognition when they use their created characters in movies, but like he knowingly gave up all those rights in exchange for money, so I can't really say I feel too sorry for him. It's better for creators, IMO, to make a name at Marvel using established characters, then go to Image with their own original ideas so they can keep all those rights. Seems to be working for Mark Millar
Image isn't even neccesarily all it's cracked up to be with creator rights; Just look at what happened with Gaiman.
I don’t think Casey is wrong to complain at all. I mean sure he knew the terms going in but he also didn’t know how much money Marvel would be making eventually. And also what options did he have? It’s not like there are many Mark Millars or a whole host of Mark Millar shaped holes to fill.
It wouldn’t kill Marvel or harm them by more than a rounding error to give creators substantially more, and they absolutely should. The fact that they don’t legally have to isn’t morally compelling. $5 grand to the people who wrote or drew the stories or created the characters is obscene, considering how much money is being made.

It is like most companies. The want to own the I.P.. That almost happened to Penny Arcade.
Deadpool was one of those cases were the character evolved with different creators. Sometimes, you get better iterations on I.P.s when it is not tied to the same creator. It is like how Zelda has turned into this whole new thing with Breath of the Wild.
Marvel can certainly afford an extra zero or two for these payments to the creators.
Yeah, I feel like 50k is the bare minimum to not be insulting and even 250k would be nothing in the great scheme. Considering America Chavez is in the trailers more than Scarlet Witch she's probably more than a cameo but a major sidekick tier character who we're likely seeing more of.
When they fart out some half-ass movie so people stop asking who the blond guy is it makes half a billion dollars and for a few years now even the solo films have had a good shot at hitting that tenth digit.
