I like watching movies. Than recent Dune adaptation was a real barn-burner (plus a few Atreides, as well), but nothing can compare to David Lynch's classic 1984 cinematic masterpiece, Deune:

Let's talk about movies in here.

I watched snake eyes. It was as good as expected. Which is saying it was not that great. What was surprising is the dynamics between storm shadow and snake eyes was actually entertaining. Nothing else in the movie was very good.

Actually that’s not true. I liked the baroness as well. That’s about it though.

I too watched Snake Eyes this past week.

Any movie with giant snakes gets bonus points from me, but yeah; it's not worthless, but... it seems to me like the kind of movie that would have been improved by some scenery chewing.

Speakin of giant snakes remember when Jon Voight got eaten by an anaconda and then puked back up because anacondas always puke their food up so the're always hungry (huh?) and he's all partially digested and winks at Jennifer Lopez

    Danger.

    It's... exciting.

"A new take on the epic fantasy genre... Darkly comic, relatable characters... twisted storyline."
"Readers who prefer tension and romance, Maledictions: The Offering, delivers... As serious YA fiction, I’ll give it five stars out of five. As a novel? Four and a half." - Liz Ellor

Watched The French Dispatch. Buncha Wes Anderson-lookin folks dressed up in Wes Anderson clothes and did Wes Anderson stuff while Wes Anderson music played. 4 Wes Andersons out of 5.

I made my roommate and a couple of our old high school-era buddies watch the Dune Re-Dub a couple nights ago, after he put on the Dune Bad Lip Reads video first and activated my Pavlovian impulse that this forum has sank directly into my brain

I usually just watch up to the "Be Cool, Gurney" bit, and this was my first time watching the whole thing in ages. Had forgotten just how much everything after just kinda drags - for a six minute video it feels twice as long, probably because of how snappy internet comedy got in the Vine era of the early 2010s and has remained since. Hence Auralnauts Star Wars having (mostly) aged better imo

A little annoyed at how good the reviews for The Batman are, because it makes me want to see it but I really don’t want to go to a theater anytime soon.

Ah, it stinks, it sucks, it's anthropologically unjust

wrt Auralnauts Star Wars I'm mostly referring to the prequels there and especially the first two episodes

Plus if I were at a party and playing six or seven minutes' worth I'd just pick a couple highlights, like the Bass Wars clip from Episode 2 and the Mandalorian follow-on

I’d love if it were Malignant, but I’ll be satisfied with anything but Spidey or Army of the Dead (Snyder fans already are enabled too much without needing to say they earned themselves an Oscar)

Yeah, as funny as it would be if Cinderella won what if Amazon takes the wrong message from that and makes more garbage with James Corden, we don't need to bring that evil into the world.

I convinced a colleague to watch Malignant without any actual information and they came back with "I really liked it until <REDACTED> happened"

Not that there’s much sanctity in the fan favorite vote in the first place, but isn’t having it just be a Twitter hashtag vote just make it so easy for someone to have a million bots vote for what they want

Sam Elliot said some shit about Power of the Dog that managed to be condescending, kinda sexist, more than a little homophobic, and also on-its-own stupid.

I would really enjoy it if actors would stop having opinions in public, nothing good comes of it

still sucks about Sam Elliot, but I didn't know anything about him as a person before so it's kinda whatever

If only someone more qualified than a woman from New Zealand would make some Westerns. Someone who would never include any of those icky homosexual allusions.

Like, I don’t know, probably someone Italian. That sounds right.

With Tombstone being the big notable exception, Sam Elliot's career has been portraying low budget TV movie cowboys. Any authority he has on Westerns is pretty sus

I mean it’s also missing the fact that all the interesting westerns were often people not making standard fucking cowboy movies. I mean the genre ducking died because they kept making the same thing (hard stare to Marvel) and to do new things in a genre you often have to look externally for different ideas.
