On the one hand, Rise really isn't as pretty as World. The biggest beef for me was that the armor models carried over from World look a lot more washed out and "flat" in Rise than the new armor that was built with Rise's graphics in mind.
On the other hand, I was 110% okay with Capcom releasing a top-tier AAA game that ran like a champ on a potato in the middle of a GPU shortage. More of that please, honestly.
Yeah personally it's really only the surface textures that sometimes bug me. Like the monsters and armor still look rad, regardless of they poly count imo. But there's times when I'm parkouring around where like, the entire screen is this flat, low rez rock texture and it just looks bad.
Chipmunks are like nature's nipple clamps, I guess?

Look, I'm a huge graphics snob. I can't live without my RTX, my HDR, 1440p at least. High quality textures, incredible models, etc. I love my shinies. I loved MHWorld and Iceborne and put hundreds of hours into it, almost 1k.
But after playing Rise, World feels slow, clunky, and stiff. I simply cannot go back to it, no matter the fidelity.
I really wish people would give it a chance, but if we see low-res textures as a "problem" that destroys a masterful game then I guess I shouldn't worry about it.

I'm not saying I won't play it, or that I'll go back to World.
I'm just grumpy that it's a sharply noticeable step backwards graphically. I like my pretties as pretty as possible.

You and me both. I am the kind of person who will go to extreme lengths in character creators, in making my screenshots. I feel you, I really do!
And yes, the graphics can be a bit of sandpaper on the eyes a bit. But I think the gameplay will win you over.
We're on PC, why aren't there HD mods to fix this already.
Rise PC already comes with HD textures, and "fixing" it is way more work than most modders would be capable of.
Seriously? Have you not seen what PC modders are capable of?
I have, but.. gah. How to explain. Honestly, I don't think I've got the spoons to explain my issues with this right now, nor why I think wanting modders to fix it is super icky. I get wanting pretty graphics, but there's also more to pretty than just textures.
+Like Frem mentions the bonus of it's less graphical grunt is that it's ultra stable frame rate wise while still looking very good, which is very nice
Anyway. Give it a chance, it's definitely still very visually gorgeous, save a quick look on Nexus mods, there's some visual mods out there
I think that the internet has been for years on the path to creating what is essentially an electronic Necronomicon: A collection of blasphemous unrealities so perverse that to even glimpse at its contents, if but for a moment, is to irrevocably forfeit a portion of your sanity.

The Steam Sale does bad things to me. Am I ever going to play Final Fantasy 13 on PC? Almost certainly not. But it is $9 (canadian). And I *might* one day, far in the future (when it's probably been on sale for $5 since) play it.
The other two Final Fantasy 13 games are also on good sales, but 13 is the only good one.

We got Final Fantasy 7 in 4K. The original one.
I'm not sure how this translates to an incredibly physics-heavy game like MH.

I think XIII-2 is more fun to play than XIII.
@A duck!, @Echo, @Sterica, if one of you could do the honors please? Thank you
