Chrome's 90% zoom is more like what 100% should be, as far as the new site goes

IMO, at least (using a 24" 1080P display). Title says it all anyways. The comic itself looks noticeably kind of bad at the default 100% (as it really seems to be getting rendered in a way that's stretching it unnecessarily at least a bit in terms of resolution).

Also on a 24" 1080p, same issue. I've zoomed Firefox down to 67% to keep the images "sharp".

I just noticed that each panel of each comic seems to be uploaded as a separate image now, for whatever reason. Said images if opened directly in their own tabs do look good / as expected seen at exactly their native resolution, much better than how they look side-by-side on a given comic page.

I think that's so they can be arranged vertically on the mobile version of the site.

That might be the case. Definitely something weird going on with how it's implemented on desktop browsers, regardless.

Alright, so here's two directly captured "window snips" to give a better idea of what I'm talking about (open them at full size in a separate tab for best viewing results). The first is today's comic page as displayed by default in Chrome, on a 24" 1080P display. The second is the same comic, downloaded as a single image file and opened in Irfanview with the default zoom level in that on the same display.

Does not seem like the browser version should look the way it does, considering how high-res the source material actually is.
