War came to my head as a possible second word on first look, and it coming up with two instances at least confirmed that wasn't totally incorrect. Gas in case they were talking about a fuel. He if they were talking about a rank. The lone instance of He brought me down to the "During the ____ ___" section and the answer popped in right away.

My first guess was "spring" since it seemed like a period of time in certain places that has an opposite period of time to compare it to. I of course forgot that spring is six letters.
