The double reveal of that hidden path behind Mohg and how you can fuckin cheese Milena blew my fucking mind
I also had no idea you can summon Alexander in the fight or that he does that much damage.
Pot is the answer to everything!

i respecced from a technically a wizard moonveil person to an actually a wizard with a glintstone pebble magic weapon and carian slicer and piercer and the big magic mallet spell and it actually rules
Oh god... if the Vulgar Militant ever unlock this technology they'd be fucking unstoppable.

I'm sure I just suck, but I am really not understanding how magic is "easy mode" in this game. There are so many relentlessly aggressive enemies that force me to be extremely careful in every engagement. Also the AI on the spirit summons is shit and they are really only useful on singular bosses as meat shields.

Because of the kamehameha and the mimic tear that copies it
Edit: if you think spirit summons are shit, then you are either using some of bad ones or unupgraded good ones. Omenkiller could solo bosses. I only beat the twin virgin abductors because my mario brothers kept one stunlocked.
Munkus Beaver on
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
I would not recommend magic to a beginner.
Strength build + Tower Shield. It's simple, it's effective and durable. You get to play through the game, and learn all it's nuances without being panicked that an enemy will just one shot you.
You can even do crazy busted version of this with a bleed or Frenzy.

I'm a DS3 and Bloodborne veteran. I went with a Magus build because I kept coming across so much buzz about it being fun for the first time in From's history. So far, sorcery is definitely cooler in Elden Ring but I don't think it's amazing.

One hundred percent this. I used the Imp Brothers from day one until a week or so ago I leveled up mind so I could use Lhutel and she does as much damage as I do at +6 and that's including her random teleportations.
I am in the business of saving lives.

Wait till you get comet azur, terra magicka, and the physick effect where skills cost no FP.
Holy shit is that satisfying

I'm in the mid 60s level wise and just started Ranni's questline so maybe I'm close to that kind of stuff?
Though at least part of the questline is broken because I didn't know Blaidd was imprisoned until after I defeated Radahn.

I felt that un- or little-upgraded Spirit Ashes were weak even in the beginning of the game. Now at +7/+8 they're at the point where they are extremely useful. They just start off too weak in my opinion.

I don't know about 'fun', it's mainly drinking a bunch of drugs and shooting mah lazor.
Incantations on the other hand are fucking bananas.

Yeah I kind of wish I went incantations but somehow the "battle mage" stuff caught my attention first. I didn't realize all fire magic was faith-based which is different from DS3.
My faith build did very very well across basically all of the game, especially the dragon spells and especially Blood Flies, but the last bosses are status immune and I just found in general very anti-incantation builds.
Blood Flies, though, it's a fucking boss killer. Killed Malenia in three tries with that strategy after I got re-acquainted with her attack patterns. You can send swarm after swarm and they also do pretty good stagger/poise break as well as taking chunks off of health.

is that still true after the patch though?
Also heard that Pest Threads are still crazy good.
I just wanted some smithing stones and now there's this giant fire dragon with a fire sword and I'm in a totally new area north of where I was (Altus?)! I was just trying to upgrade a weapon or two. This game is ridiculous.

Yeah, they're definitely mimic/tear related
There's also the one that seems to be possibly producing additional tears, which has me considering that they might be like the queens of the species or something along those lines
Those are a bunch of mimics, right? They’re the same color and are specifically killable, while the trap versions are not.
there are a couple that can chase after you in the world that give XP when killed as well.
Silver Tears seem to be trying to become reborn in to normal creatures, at least that's what I gather from some of the lore items, and along the way some of them decided that the ball life chose them and became balls.

I tell my wolves they are good girls after every fight. (They were useful from the jump! Still good now with some upgrades.)
I oopsied into the Godskin Noble fight with half a level of runes, glad I opened that shortcut first, whoops!
Do higher upgrades greatly increase their poise or something? I think mine are level 4 and whenever I summon them I hear the poise break stun thunk nearly every time they are hit.

You can only summon Alexander if you've done Radahn first IIRC
I'm a wizard
I'm glad you made a choice that's good for you but I can't in good conscience condone the choice in question
i might do an NG+ with it

I'd say it's routinely impossible to do any quest "correctly" or "in order" without a step by step guide.
Just kind of roll with it.
I finished Caelid (after doing Altus Plateau completely out of order).
Should I do the Mountain top of the Giants now that I have the Dectus Medallion or finally head I to Leyndell?
I felt that un- or little-upgraded Spirit Ashes were weak even in the beginning of the game. Now at +7/+8 they're at the point where they are extremely useful. They just start off too weak in my opinion.
Steam ID: 76561198021298113

For Mountaintop you need a separate medallion. Dectus is just an alternate method to get to Altus.
Oh, fuck, well okay then to Leyndell finally.
