I think at some point the Astros shifted to a strategy of "don't put the ball in a place where they can hit a home run" and the Phillies couldn't adjust

Yeah
The Phillies reliance on power hitters is definitely a weakness

Yeah Swanson and a guy in triple A. I guess this confirms they definitely aren't dealing with Haniger, but I can't fault that considering his age and how long he was out last season.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
I know athletes play to the wheels fall off, but man alive if I was verlander I would have retired on a high and not like gone on to dissapoint in new york
The mariners also got off the jesse winker experience and traded him to the brewers for Kolton Wong. Which feels terrible for ages involved but Winker just was such a non factor last year anyone taking him would be a benefit.

You lose one World Series and you completely abandon your 4 RF/4 DH/1 C strategy sheesh
Scherzer and Verlander, if healthy, are the 40%.
The third player? Bobby Bonilla.
Last time the M's picked up a yankee for a lot of money it didn't work out so well...
But they do need an outfielder to play with teoscar and julio.

Will the Mets complete their collection of the Tigers' 2010 starting pitchers?

Well… that Cano contract wasn’t great but that wasn’t the major problem in that era — it was terrible player development/drafting.
Some of those teams were almost good, too. They won more games than last year’s playoff team.
Nevermind, it’s a false alarm
