I think my favorite place to find them was down deep under the city, in the place where he is, sitting in the roots of the tree, corrupting it and spreading slowly. Mainly because with their breath weapon and its effects, it suddenly drew a line between them and him.

The thing i noticed was dogs and wolves weren’t so bad with the teleportation they used to have
Of course Imps and Vulgar Militia more than make up the difference

They are.
Until you run into an underground cave forest where they're breeding like rabbits and you can't walk two feet without tripping over them or running straight into a large cluster of them.
I'm surprised by how bloated my old DS3 characters' play times ended up being. I'm like 8 hours in and getting close to the end of vanilla DS3. Maybe two hours left for peak+castle+library? First DLC is maybe an hour, Ringed City might be a few, but that's still way, way short of the 30 my other characters sitting deep in TRC have. I must have left them sitting around a lot.
It's fun how back to back are one of my least favorite bosses (though not one I struggle with usually) and one of my favorites (though it's a shame he's become a meme since you can parry him).
He moves around just enough and has just finicky enough hitboxes that I was afraid I was going to get too tilted to beat him after like the 10th missed swing.
Anyway, almost back to Elden Ring. I kinda want to do something completely different, like fast power stance weapons or an estoc, but I'm going to try to finish out this run with a colossal weapon run--not quite the same as the horizontal moveset run through I've done in the other games, but a colossal sword run is the last run I finished in Elden Ring so a repeat so soon seems silly.
do they still have that bug where the rot dogs can insta kill you with one bite?
No they fixed that within a few months I think, shortly after I saw a zullie video explaining the glitch (the damage/status script wasn't set to only activate once per animation, so it fired every frame you were in the bite hitbox and built up bleed)

Ugh, I've missed Piercing Fang on two of my characters and I would like to try it for both of them.

I ran into those dogs again in Caelid while finishing up side stuff and I missed the old bugged ones.
Was it completely over the top stupid? Yes, of course it was, but it turned every encounter into this very tense moment.
I am in the business of saving lives.

Wait...wut.
*Ranni quest spoilers*
Why is Ranni suddenly pissed at me for talking to her cool little action figure?
Is she just embarrassed that I caught her in this form?
Don't remember. Maybe the merchant in the upper burg?
Yup. When you get to the Burg where the dragon swoops down and away (not the bridge after meeting Solaire, before that), to your right are two shield guys and a staircase down, and outside that room is a merchant who sells firebombs and throwing knives
Who sells firebombs? Im gonna go cheese this fucker, i do not care.
The guy in the sewer, behind the metal bars, at the start of the game sells poop you can fling at the Capra demon. A fitting end for him. https://youtu.be/E1WQ_BMaJjg

Kind of disappointed in the dark moon great sword, not as powerful as I was hoping it would be on my build at +9 with about 65 int.
Its not bad damage at all but most of my spells output far more reliably and FP has never been much of an issue. Think I'll just stick with the carian knight sword and avoid the weight penalty.

For what it's worth, the weapon skill buffs its damage and it's got a solid chunk of frost status effect on it, so it's not too bad. Though probably undertuned.
the dark moon greatsword has gotten a buff in like every patch and is actually just nuts now
it's not comet azur but undertuned is certainly not how i would describe it
I knew they buffed its tracking but I didn't ever notice it getting a number bump, so I assumed it was still a decent chunk behind the heavy hitters in the class.

the raw numbers haven't been adjusted because it's always hit hard.

it also benefits from magic scorpion, godfrey's icon, alexander shard, axe talisman, spellsword set, terra magica, and any damage boosting body buffs.
i run like half of that and it's good
I suppose. It always feels just short of the best weapons in the class. It was my goal for my first GS run and eventually I moved on to strength/faith and had a much easier time. It needs to be self-buffed to be close to what you'd get from unbuffed strength or strength/faith greatsword builds, and maintaining the buff was enough of a pain and the projectile wasn't useful enough to me to be worth it.
I only used it before it got improvements to the projectile so maybe I'd appreciate it more with those, since it was just another source of frustration alongside the rebuffing.

Wolves aren't that bad but the rabid dog hit and collision boxes are awful.

Yeah, pretty much.
Zullie the Witch did an interesting video on those fake eyes
The same fake eyes appear all over the place wherever deathroot can be found and suggests that it's the manifestation of the dead god Godwyn.
Yes! I love that their fake eyes in Elden Ring have potential lore impact.
I made a game, it has penguins in it. It's pay what you like on Gumroad.

Time to take Ranni for all shes worth in the cosmic divorce proceedings. Sucker.

it's gotten:
cheaper buff
faster buff cast
tracking buff
increased frost
stamina consumption reduction
added weapon hitbox on buffed charged R2s
general greatsword speed + poise buffs
it also benefits from magic scorpion, godfrey's icon, alexander shard, axe talisman, spellsword set, terra magica, and any damage boosting body buffs.
