Yes, even fuckin road rage Titan and fuckin GARUDA IFRIT.

Crystal Tower is at least fairly easy and quick. Always pumped to get the new alliance raids in roulette, though. Still need to see how the 3rd one closes things out, but just based on the two released so far, this is probably the best alliance raid series in the entire game. And Euphrosyne is easily #1. I'd probably go EW > ARR > ShB > SB > HW at this point for alliance raids. Shadowbringer's is close to overtaking ARR's, but I think the ShB ones are just enough of a slog sometimes to get through and ARR's are fairly snappy that it pushes ARR ahead. ARR's are basically a good introduction to the concept of an Alliance Raid and thus I think hold up fairly well.

SB is also kind of a slog but the whole Ivalice thing is at least pretty memorable, HW's Mhach stuff is just kind of muddled and uninteresting and other than sky pirates and Cait Sith, I could not tell you a single plot beat of that story.

Pandaemonium actually made the Ivalice raids relevant again. Like, "oh you thought this was just random crossover nonsense but GUESS WHAT"

Somewhat terrified they're going to manage to do that with NEiR...

I feel like we're almost certainly returning to the 1st at some point. Y'shtola is actively working towards that and she's been making progress with the stuff we're doing in the 13th. Probably not anytime soon, though.

Spoiler warning for 6.5 patch preview stuff.
Literally the previews for the next patch show us back on the 1st, and Zero is there with us. Zero's a Voidsent, so she can cheat to a degree, but like. Y'shtola and Urianger blew a giant portal hole into the moon. Also, one of the whole Things about the Void is that you CAN get to the First from there (see: Caster DPS quests in ShB). So. Yeah.

The only problem with having Gaia show up is that they'd have to require the Eden quests. Of course, they probably will have to make those required eventually to advance things on the First, so.

His Ultima Thule speech is the one that really sticks with me as the type of speech that only he could have done and answered in such a convincing manner. He's arguing with an emotionless machine from a position of logic and can speak from personal experience about the points he is raising. None of it is aspirational or hypothetical. It is all practical experience and things that he has been wondering about himself based on his experiences. It's a great character moment because it really summarizes his growth and experiences that have occurred over the game.

All the other scions have similar moments in the zone, but G'raha is special in that he actually answers in a way that the opposing force of despair has no rational answer to, as opposed to just forming a crack in their argument and then overpowering their despair.

I liked him a lot in Shadowbringers, but I've really enjoyed what they've done with him since as well. He acts like his younger self most of the time, tempered by some experience, but there'll be moments where he reveal the full weight of his experiences.

Genuinely one of the best characters in the game. That voiceover he does at the end of 5.3 is still great every time I hear it.

Is it weird that I'm into the job narrative more than the main story? (Black Mage, but still.)

Also, it was kind of(very) awkward that they have a main story quest where you literally
transport corpses. Even funnier to picture my Lala carrying four bodies on her own...

On the bright side, it was rave night in Eorzea yesterday apparently:

  • DelzhandDelzhand Hard to miss. Registered User regular
Yeah I guess I just didn't think they'd commit on the full body glams that hard-code breasts. Or maybe Omega-F doesn't do that? Maybe it's just Alma and Minfilia's dresses?

  • DonnictonDonnicton Registered User regular
There are so many better options to unlock for both genders, but they go with Omega. Most of the complaints with that set are first and foremost that it's a model-replacement and not actual clothing(it gets pretty horror story on Elezen in particular), so this isn't the change that's going to get people using it.

I'm really glad that I decided to check how many gold pack-only cards that I was missing before jumping into spending tomestones on the Warrior of Light. I spent a bit of MGP instead and managed to pull WoL, among other things I needed. That's 100 tomestones that weren't completely wasted.

I managed a big haul with tomestones this time around. And I discovered that PvP in 14 is not the trash talking, horrid dumpster fire that is WoW PvP.

My win rate still sucks but both Frontline and RW are good times. I even got decent at piloting Cruise Chaser!
