Andor gets into how obnoxious Imperial rule was.

Disagree. I feel like if at least
the conclusion to the prison and the uprising at home
don't hit you like a truck then you are either a lizard-person, a robot imposter, or some sort of robot imposter being driven by a very small lizard person inside.

Plus it's just a really dang good series and I genuinely feel binging damages the experience of any really good series because you're not giving yourself a chance to process anything, just watch it.

They also do an amazing job of having 2 or 3 episodes then a payoff so it never feels like it wallows padding time. It is tightly written the whole time everything holds together as a cohesive whole but each of the chapters is setup, escalates then pays it off. The cinematography is off the freaking chart it holds its own against full on movies quality wise I don't think I ever saw any janky CGI or anything that jarred me in it.

Man i should not have watched Gotg 3. it solidly soured me on the whole franchise.

What a fucking piece of thrash. Didn't finish it because it didn't even have the decency to be short.

And for some reason, the feeling that they tried to make it as cheap as possible by licensing these shitty ass songs irks me the most. Like that was one of "cool" things about the franchise.

What didn't you like about it? It was certainly the MOST Guardians if not the best.

I liked it but also would have been ok if they stopped after the first as a cool single story.

The constant yelling at each other for no particular reason, Didn't care for the rehash of rockets background, the toy story freak ripoffs or the bad guy or his CGI army.

What the fuck is a sovereign and why should i care? That fucking peeing scene.

The shitty music, so much bad CGI, contrived action scenes, "jokes" (i could almost hear the laughtrack).

I can keep going for way longer then i care to. It lacked everything that made the first two good by either shoving too much of into the movie or not doing it naturally so it came off forced as hell.

The sovereign were the gold people who featured prominently in the previous movie. We even found out in GotG3 that they were the creation of the main badguy of that film.

They're pissed off about the Guardians stealing thier batteries and then destroying the Sovereign's remote fleet when they tried to kill the Guardians.

see i remembered the Creator and him making Rocket but that whole battery thing and the sovereigns being in Pt2 i kinda blanked on. It's been a long time and i only watched it once, but i do remember liking it a lot better.

Ok that makes a bit more sense then, but the rest of my point still stands.

Having seen Rogue One I feel like I have a pretty good idea of what the tone of Andor is and yeah no thanks if I need to feel any sadder I'll just read a world news article. Performs the job instantly.

I didn't like rogue one, I thought it was a waste of time. Andors tone is serious, but its a much different kind of story.

    It's basically about
how you radicalize a population and how a rebellion forms
    with political intrigue occurring nebulously.

Andor is probably the only thing worth watching out of the star wars shows, and its got a planned ending at the end of this next season. The first episode is pretty slow, but I stuck with it from a recomendation and I did not regret it.

Man I still haven't watched Andor because while I'm expecting it to be good, it has been a shit year so far and I just don't need my entertainment to tap into those emotions. Those emotions are tapped.

This is reasonable because Andor is intense and it will wreck you. I would advise watching maybe no more than a couple episodes at a time rather than binging it because it hits like a goddamn truck at least three different times.

But by the end you will be pumped to fight the Empire.

Nah, binge it. It's slow AF and only really gets going in the back half.

I wouldn't say Andor is slow: Rather, it's deliberate. When I think of something being "slow" I think of shows and movies that feel that way, because they have stretches of time where nothing important happens, and I can't think of much from Andor that qualifies for that. Not only did everything from the pacing to the story feel carefully considered, but it all feeds into the tone and plot. There's very little chaff in that show, IMO.

Thanks. Was curious if it was more the technical or plot/story you didn't like Sounds like some of both.

They did certainly dialed everything up to 11 for that one.

Well yeah that's fan service for a limited subset of the audience.
