After defeating an important V blood and leveling up my gear the other bosses have become much more manageable. Helps that Mal has a bunch of 100% rogue blood but it didn't feels as bad in general.
Thanks!
I actually managed to kill him this afternoon, changed up my spells and had a blood moon.
Still took a lot of tries so I’m glad I built the temporary castle coffin next to him.

I keep forgetting that I have a 100% Brute imprisoned with a blood potion ready to go. That said, I don't know if it's the best choice for how I tend to fight V Bloods now. I did come across a 99% Rogue but decided to make a minion of him instead of a blood supply. Guess he's lucky he was missing that 1%.
I was hitting a wall with some of the 60ish ones. Whereas with most of the past ones, I'd often outlevel them, it wasn't an option for the Spider or the Engineer. I barely downed the Spider on my third attempt though I was also using Creature blood which is not ideal (though not bad either given the movement speed).
The unholy spell that summons skeletons on hit has been a godsend since I saw some youtubers use it on bosses the other day. They can actually do significant damage over time but they'll eat some single target attacks for you.
With the Silk + Pristine Leather set, I should have an easier time clearing the rest of the V Bloods for a bit at least.

I'd forgotten how much heavy lifting a high quality brute blood does, though some of those nerds still took a few tries to overcome. Got the rest of the gear upgrade unlocks unlocked, now I guess I have to beat up act III bosses to try and get busted weapons to drop so I can fix them.
It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing... And take away its pain.

Unlocked my throne of domination, and can now send my Minions out to collect materials.
Also defeated the first of my Act 2 blood hunts, the Seamstress... she spent the entire fight running away looking for help, I almost felt bad when she died.
But now I have a loom, and could craft enough wool to build the tailoring station, which now lets me craft the armor that the Bandit Chieftain unlocked.
Next up is spending a lot of time farming Wool to actually craft the armor. (and farm a ton of unsullied hearts to get more minions)
I actually can't remember for sure, because I haven't gotten that far on my new game yet.
But some things have to be scavenged from bandit camps. I don't want to send you on a wild goose chase, but there are several crafting materials and things that you get just from raiding various bandit camps and killing lots of dudes.

That's what I vaguely remember from my first play and it's enough to give me a direction, thanks!

Yeah, just as a general tip, you can hover over the highlighted regions on the map and it will show you what kind of drops you can expect there. There's also a general loot pool in the zones, I don't know if there's a way to tell what's in that

Apparently I need to wait for blood moons for bosses now.
Was having trouble with Tristan the Vampire Slayer, then pulled a 70% rogue blood during a blood moon and used some buff potions and managed to clinch the battle.

Tristan can be rough. Depending where you fight him, there can be so very, very much fire. And then if some bandits or militia join in, it gets out of hand fast. I was unlucky with research and couldn't get the fire resist brew before tackling Tristan, but one thing that ended up helping me was something I realized about most outdoor bosses: a lot of them have ranged attacks that can be avoided by running behind some trees and then popping a healing item and playing keep away for a bit as you heal.
Woo! Had a lucky morning and knocked out the next bunch of V Bloods.
Actually ran into another person in the Haunted Iron Mine, who after seeing me fail my first attempt, took care of the boss for me so it was an easy drain when I came back to collect my stuff much appreciated.
Managed to unlock the Study, so cleared out a bunch of inventory space researching books that I had collected.
Also, found out that I can do a bunch of different crafting tiles, and just need to seperate them with doorways without doors to make dedicated crafting rooms.
Nearing the end of the game myself. Server should be good for another 13 days. If folks still playing I'll renew for another month, otherwise gonna see if I can get the server backup near the end to give to those interested if that's possible.
Tristan is one of those early game menaces that I just adore.
Minding your own business when he shows up and it's just run run run!
Not sure if they ever fixed this, but my biggest problem with Tristan is due to how he paths you’re likely to encounter him in places where you’ll eventually get third partied by other patrols. Also, I’d be moving around so much fighting him that he’d end up leashing and resetting like 80% of the time which was intensely frustrating.

Definitely not fixed, seems a feature.
Which makes his fight super chaotic but like a lot of things the fire DOT he does just obscene damage in general without a cleanse.
Barely beat him while helping @Zavian due to that.

The flipside I've read about is that some players deal with wandering bosses by building trap castles along the route where they can dogpile V Bloods with minions and terrain to hide behind. Definitely an idea I want to explore the next big update.
Finally buckled down and killed the last boss. Had to do it twice cause I was trying not to use my broken blood fountain (seriously, healing x2 + leech + remove negative effects + recast is so busted) but he be down now.
Tried a shard boss but don't think I can really do it on my own. Will be up for it if others are but I think I can wrap up my game time. Very nice additions though some of the supply chains for late game items get kinda tricky and some items are now kinda redundant (Ex: Twilight Snapper no longer needed to summon Putrid Rat).

Overall still awesome and was glad to return.
The Winged Horror is the easiest of the shard bosses. I was able to one shot him a few days ago.
Gorecrusher is quite a bit tougher. Part of me thinks that it would be smart to unlock the Witch potion before another attempt, but I actually was doing pretty well until I misread one of his attacks and ran face first into a bunch of damaging wisps.
Adam . . . Adam is clearly designed for a group given the terrain objects meant to be busted up while someone focuses on the boss. I may end up just ignoring him as a result.
Yeah had all my buffs up and 100% brute for the winged horror, might have just been fighting wrong or too braindead after I kind of face rolled Solarus.
I beat winged and Gore before, no Adam. Probably watch a vid.
Gonna leave the server running another month, figure best to let folks take their time if they're still going through the game unless I really get no one playing.
So I spun up my own server since I thought I would probably be slow grow crawling the progress tree and had no idea how long that would take.
I cranked up how much material could fit in a stack to 5x and also buffed my Vamp weapon damage by 10% and spell damage by 25%
I ended up actually speed running most of the game, and have completed my first set of silk armor with a couple of the reforged sharpened iron weapons that have bonus elemental effects on the Q ability. So level 67
I just defeated the Spider Queen and you guys were right about how annoying her summons were. Actually got a simultaneous KO on her killing me so ran back asap to drain the V blood before it disappeared.
My server has 30 days left on it. Hopefully can download a copy to hand out to interested folks but that should be it.
Edit: also interesting Gnome how the tweeks makes the game super fast. I think it is a testament with how well most of the game is balanced on default difficulty except the shard holders.
The biggest thing for me was increasing the stack size so I could carry a lot more before returning to base. It also allows much more material to fit in storage. (Ie blood essense stacks to 250 so my castle heart has 54 days on it at level 5)
Though I definitely felt the decrease in material drop rates compared to your server, where I had to intentionally go out and harvest lumber and stone more in the early stages.
Killed another 3 bosses last night, the horsehead killer, werewolf chief and the frog king. (Killed all 3 in 1 night with the same potions running even)

The Shard Holders were always designed for groups from my understanding. It's just that many of us are stubborn enough to find ways to take them down solo. Solarus being downgraded from Shard Holder to normal boss severely nerfed him, especially combined with other changes that boosted character power and recovery. Adam however is very, very clearly designed for a group with his mechanics. It's possible to solo him, but it looks like an incredibly unfun fight that way; without other players to disable the emitters, the fight has to be done on 1/9th of the battlefield.
Yeah I think winged horror or behemoth should have been downgraded to a regular boss and Solarus kept as a shard keeper or another holy aligned boss cause other than the overall danger of silverlight it hits more as a dud now.
It's silly to create bosses that are designed for multiplayer and for group play in a game that has a dedicated offline solo mode.
I think that's honestly my biggest criticism of the game in general. The overall economical balance of the game, resource balance, building and crafting balance, boss balance, combat balance, all of it feels like it is tuned and designed to be played on multiplayer servers and no effort at all was invested into balancing the solo experience, even though that's a legitimate way to play and is a big enough staple of the game that it is literally a main menu item.
+3

it's the same problem as ARK survival evolved, where the balancing is centered around their official PvP servers.

Watched a couple videos and have managed to defeat the Baron Somalier, Harpy Queen, Elementalist, and Dr Blackpowder
Incredibly surprising how much of a difference it makes not having to guess at which abilities can be dodged, destroyed or required invulnerable frames
My server is coming up on the end, dunno if anyone is interested in a copy of the server if I can figure out how to download it. But as long as one is interested I will attempt to do so.

He has some mechanics that aren't intuitive. Specifically one of his special attacks can be avoided by using the ice blocks as cover but others can't.
