Also, while I believe this clip is more specifically from Cartoon Planet which was on TBS or whatever, SGC2C is still directly responsible for the creation of this glorious duet.

EDIT: Nope, silly me, didn't even catch the AS watermark when I first loaded the video.

The cooking episode of SGC2C cracks me up every time

from Space Ghost getting grossed out by the chicken, Zorak asking for the bones, to Space Ghost going on the defensive every time Emeril says BAM that whole episode is solid gold

The one where space ghost interviews a bunch of super models and is just silent the entire time until the models start to talk and he immediately interrupts, then goes silent again

My first exposure to SGC2C was bonus content after the credits on my copy of The Mask on VHS.

Seeing Space Ghost for the first time pre social media was a real experience. Just constant feeling of, "What the hell is this? Is this for real? He's interviewing Bea Arthur?"

Once upon a time, on a cold Christmas Eve in the late 90s, my three brothers and I were settled around the TV watching Cartoon Network, when my mother comes into the room, telling us it's time for us all to get dressed and leave for Christmas Eve Dinner.

"But mommm," we pleaded, "we need to watch the entire Cartoon Planet block, because they're airing an exclusive Space Ghost Christmas special over the course of the evening!"

"It's a Christmas special, if you don't catch all of it this year, you'll catch the rest when they re-run it next year," my mother replied.

So, we all got dressed and left for Christmas Eve Dinner.

Lo and behold, we arrived at next Christmas, to find that, in fact, A Space Ghost Christmas would not be re-aired, nor would it be collected on any DVDs. It was lost to us, dear reader. It remains a point of great contention in our household to this day, my mother's great betrayal (Despite the special existing online nowadays).

That is my Space Ghost story.

I take issue with this response. Yeah sure there is technically time but 1) He ain't going to jail and 2) would that really be justice? All that damage done and he gets a year or two in prison? That's justice? You do damage that people while be repairing for centuries and you got to live a life of power and privilege for 99% of your life?

Then again I also derive to satisfaction from suffering. It wouldn't pleasure me to know that he spent years in prison either.

Yeah, and also, as much as I love King of the Hill, I'm not exactly in a rush to find out what Mike Judge has been thinking about politics and culture lately. Based on what some of the later seasons of the show had to say about "political correctness," I can just see them doing an episode on "cancel culture" or whatever and I honestly do not foresee anything good coming from that.

Precisely, Scott Adams is the other main case that comes to mind for me. I used to love reading Dilbert as a kid.

I consider the fact that I used to love the Dilbert comic strip when I was in middle school probably my most embarrassing "I used to like this" thing.

Like I'd probably never admit to this around people who know my name or what I look like.

I think I liked Dilbert as a kid because it was a comic strip that I could read and facially understand, like Garfield. Unlike fucking Doonesbury or whatever.

Dilbert used to have pretty clever satire of how stupid corporate jobs and management are, I don't blame anyone for liking it in the old days before Adams got dementia or whatever.

Early Dilbert came from experiencing corporate culture and it had something to say (that it was very dumb and wasteful). That strip was successful enough that Adams was able to quickly exit cubicle culture. Without any more new experiences to fuel the work with, Adams quickly fell prey to huffing his own farts and the "keen observations" of a white guy with very limited experience in various aspects of life.

For a very long time he would just reprint slightly altered stories people sent him of workplace hell in his comic.

I don't think that happened. Jones interviewed Judge once back in 2013, but I can't find anything about Judge sitting in for him.

damn, I was just gonna post this lol
I was like 7 or 8 at the time when I got The Mask on VHS, I HATED this space ghost thing, I thought it was weird and stupid and creepy

Then later on, in either the end of elementary school, or the beginning of middle school, my dad went on a trip to LA to meet up with one of his old friends, who was now a big shot in the recording industry. He brought back a bunch of new CDs and collections that his friend gave him, including a copy of this: (there's like 40 tracks, the uploader has them all)

I adored this CD, me and my sister listened to it for YEARS. I can still recite some of this shit from memory. I wouldn't actually watch SGC2C for a long time after that, I never actually watched any Adult Swim until high school when I caught one of the blocks at my grandma's house.

When I was twelve years old we got satellite TV, which was a hell of an upgrade from the three channels we could get on antenna when the weather was nice. It was also the year I convinced my parents to leave me home alone while the rest of the family went to the New Years Eve dance in the Amistad gymnasium.

I watched a solid six-hour block of Space Ghost Coast to Coast until midnight while eating microwaved Schwan's frozen pizza, and it was basically the best night of my life up to that point and probably a big reason why I'm this way.

This. SGC2C was my indoctrination into absurdist humor. It was just so different from everything else, like this perfect encapsulation of the 90's.

I never thought I'd say this, but I really miss the early 2000's.

I did not like SGC2C as a kid. Probably because it's a slow burn for comedy and also because the first episode I saw of it was the one with the gas leak when it was midway through.
