Monkey Island. A series that has famously only had one art style.
So, in fairness, I do generally associate Monkey Island with Steve Purcell, and I love Steve Purcell as much as anyone, I have multiple framed and signed art prints from him hanging around my apartment.

The guy said he slept under his desk ~when crunch still existed~, and now does not since it's been eliminated (to his knowledge). I was pointing out that there was an article literally this month about crunch at Bethesda, the very company he's whitewashing.
He never says crunch doesn't exist anymore period, he's says it's not a thing at Microsoft, and that the crunch mentioned in that Kotaku article is a thing of the past from prior to the Bethesda aquistion.
Obviously he could be full of shit, but I don't think anything he said was contradictory.

Geneforge is quite good. Nice little spiderweb software rpg, if you've played any of their other ones.
I'll definitely need to grab that. I remember finding the demo of that when I was home from college on spring break and downloading it over dialup on my parents computer.
They also had a pretty fun puzzle game that I can't remember the name of and seems to be completely gone from their web page. It's all just RPGs now.

yeah I think I like Curse the most, followed by 1 and 2
and really I feel like Return's style is somewhere between Curse and 2 SE, like it's nicely playing up some of the cartoony exaggeration with nice 2D art
Curse straight up looks like (my memory of) a Saturday morning Cartoon, and as a child of the 80's and 90's, I can appreciate that.

Tales might rank higher if I was basing it just off Purcell's art for it, but it doesn't quite stand up to the transition to 3D and loses quite a bit in the process

yeah I feel like the modeling tech just wasn't there at the time, particularly for the budget/systems they were targeting
if they were going back to making a full 3D monkey island now I feel like they could do a much better job, with way more tools to support them

I'd totally play a game that looks like the grayboxing and with that level of fidelity to the animations.
Both Curse of Monkey Island and King’s Quest 7 did a great job of pulling off the “play a cartoon” thing, or at least I remember it that way. It’s me, the guy who was really in to cel-shading.
As much as I love Destiny, and Bungie asa company (their cms have been dunking on people over Roe v Wade, especially the keep politics or of games idiots) they still get stuff wrong.
So not gonna link the tweets cause kinda not safe for work but apparently people are sending unsolicited dick pics and begging for the release date of God of War Ragnarok to a female dev on the team.

I’m glad someone made a mod that took the voice audio from the secret of Monkey Island remaster and put it into the scumm original version. I love the audio but I prefer the original graphics, something the remaster of 2 let you do but not in 1.

90% of guy's profiles is pictures of their dick. Most guys on the site also have pictures of their dick as their avatar. They think, somehow, some way, that on a site about fetish content and sexuality outside the standard hetronormative, somehow, a picture of their dick is the best, most representative thing they can do.

That is clearly the later VGA version and not the earlier (by about three whole months) and prettier EGA version!
Everything else is already perfect.
The game also supported the Hercules video card.
