Fresh from a nice run of resources, we start upgrades on the augurium.
We can now hunt the five reapers. This takes 7 seeds per color, right now we can start yellow and purple. Yellow first because... I don't know?
Augurium upgrades complete, we gain our last (?) two Prognosticars, and assign one of them to a critical system on east end of the map, bringing the bloom down to 1-2 dots sector wide.
A day before our phone call from Big Daddy Kai, we get a phone call from Big Daddy Kai. He wants us to commit to *all* heroic deeds for 60 days. Because some of these are bullshit, I commit to one and he accepts this. The phone call proper comes, and Kai has been having members of the team spy on me (DAMNIT PIXIE!) and they gave good reports (Oh, ok, good job Pixie!). His prognosticars have detected an unprecedented and unpredicted boom in Nurgle activity in my sector, so of course he's going to demand I give him stuff. I give him two Grimoires and Vakir is outraged, saying the books are hers. But they aren't hers so she can go shut up.
Our missions pop and we have two choices: One system at risk (2 corruption, about to gain 2 more), or two less at risk (0 gaining 1 and 2 gaining 1). *If* I read right, we'll be able to remove yellow corruption when we destroy the yellow Reaper, so both of these systems should be back under 2 soon anyway, while the critical system is 2 red 2 blue, both seed colors I can't search for the reaper from yet.
My logic is probably wrong, but we set off anyway!
As we arrive, several things happen: The yellow reaper is revealed (this locks research into the Codex Toxicus so we have to kill it to find the next), and a warp storm drops right on us. This corrupts several of our servitors, and we're forced to cull them. And lastly, whatever assignment I had Thawmus, Betsunni, and Elvenshae on completes and they all gain nothing.
Mission 26
Team will be Thawmus, sporting a new hammer, Betsunni, CB557, and Jazz.
And of course it's a Dreadnought.
Thawmus hasn't seen one of these before, and is used to being the tallest guy on the map.
Betsunni makes him shorter, by exploding him.
We reach the first bloom spawn, and it's one of those rituals. Remember when we dealt with regular garden variety heresy and not giant man eating vagina trees? Those were the days.
We also get plaguebearers on our flank.
CB557 teleport strikes right up to the priest while we deal with the rapidly scattering cultists.
Thawmus goes with him and Rend the Unclean clears the area.
Betsunni and Jazz blow up torches to lay down a huge fire hazard. The enemy just walks through it and mauls Betsunni, necessitating a session of intensive chainsaw therapy.
Worse, the warp surge is going to spawn a bunch more of these guys, but luckily we can prevent it this time, Thawmus and Betsunni get all but one.
And Thawmus gets the last one after getting chewed on slightly.
POV: You're an orc at Minas Tirith and Theoden is giving a speech.
We arrive at the front gates, and are greeted by the door man and his four plague marine buddies. Betsunni bids them a warp hello.
Supporting fire can do amazing things, as literally everyone shoots this terminator at once, doing embarrassingly little damage.
More games should take "disarm" this literally.
On today's episode of Worst Killcam Ever we show you what the back of the terrain polygons look like.
We use our free AP reloading and passing around Jazz's healing skull before CB557 demonstrates yet again that doorknobs are heresy.
This room is FULL of destroyable hazards and melee attackers, so we light everything on fire.
This random dude just walks out of the shadow from behind us, but he won't be an issue. I hope.
Betsunni clears out the giant eyball things.
Thawmus nabs the seed off the plague marine.
"+1 stun" apparently means "just fucking kill him," because all that green health bar means nothing as the marine's body just falls apart.
Jazz throws another grenade at the priest.
And the game finally makes up for all those shitty killcams with the best killcam ever as Jazz guns down the priest through a haze of destruction. We better get a healing chainsaw option in loot because Jazz just earned a present for this screenshot.
This was a high threat mission, by the way. It was easier than the medium mission from yesterday and a LOT easier than the low threat mission from the same three pack. I'm starting to think Prognosticars are less "advanced mutant psykers" and more "carnival side show fortune tellers" and they just suck at intelligence gathering.
We bring home 4 requisition, 1 grimoire, 3 blue seed, and 13! red seeds. Sadly no toys for Jazz, but we pick up a rank 3 psilencer named Doom's End for Betsunni and rank 3 frag grenades, which automatically replace everyone's rank 2s.
Promotions for everyone. Thawmus is promoted to rank 7 and improves Rend the Unclean. Betsunni is promoted to rank 7 and starts working towards that second grenade slot. CB557 is promoted to rank 7 and learns Ruthless Precision, letting him recover AP from melee crits. Jazz is promoted to rank 8 and gains the ability to yoink seeds off enemies without needing to crit.
Injuries for everyone as well. Jazz for 5 days, Thawmus for 6, Betsunni for 11, and CB557 for 14.
Next time we'll be hunting the first of the five reapers, moving into the next phase of the game! As we head into that phase, while I feel like the team is nice and sized out, we did get a rank 7 librarian a while back. This guy is basically a space wizard, with a bunch of offensive warp powers. He wears terminator armor and has a podium on his head for some reason. He's available to any intrepid volunteer who wants to join the Grey Knights on their holy quest!
My dream is coming true. I'll be able to play video games while handling my big Deck with both hands!
Bonus joke after completing my purchase.
Sadly, the 13 year old in me now can't check my messages until the counter changes.
Oh I don't know what happened. Maybe I had some bad tuna fish last night or something. But at approximately 10:35 AM I started to feel really sick. I might have to cut out of work early today and spend the next day or two in bed.
Look, the best way to stun someone is to end their life.
This is my approach to stealth in Cyberpunk 2077. Fixers always complaining that I don't use discretion and I'm like, "Hey, nobody survived to say they saw me. How is that NOT flawless stealth."

This is also my group's approach to Shadowrun campaigns.
Also we false flag everything we do as Halloweener activity (but very badly and very obviously not aping their motif well at all).
Then An_Alt unleashes a fiery blaze of destruction known as Scissorz. But Calescant takes cover behind an ancient magical shield uncovered by the earlier flurry of rocks. The Scissorz are deflected consuming An_Alt in the blaze.
I need to take a long boring bus ride somewhere now to justify my Steam deck buy.
Just arrived. Looks intact. Nothing obviously broken. Need to try and remember what good sized microsd cards I have that I can plunder from elsewhere.
Thanks @Iolo (and @Jazz ) for Teardown! This looked super cool, with all the voxel destruction and the point a to point b heist stuff. Can't wait to play it!
Like Kai_San, I, too, am pleased by the artistic images that are being produced for this tournament. To give akajaybay more to work with next round (if it's useful), my avatar comes from the Lookouts logo:
When joining the forums, I wanted a sun-based avatar to go with my username (which means "growing warmer" and includes "cent" like "Penny") that was based on an image from the main comic, but couldn't find anything that worked. Then I hit the jackpot when I looked at side projects.
So question about pathfinder. Do you need to play kingmaker before path of the righteous?
No.
They are 99% unlinked, a few references aside.
Both are very long games and building strong characters in PF1 can be very complicated. Though the games do have respecs. (And mods for free respecs)
Playing Owlcat games is like playing a tabletop session with a GM who really, really likes combat and has a sadistic streak. It has a very tunable difficulty for a reason, do not be afraid to set your own level.

Oh man, if I had the skills, I would totally create a game where you teardown largely pointless structures/areas in order to promote a healthier world. For example, destroying a golf course to create low-cost housing. This increases your scarce water supply and gives struggling people homes. Go for the high score!

Friendship with Benefits is legit very good for a smut game. Lots of different characters and stories with them and tons of different scenes and scenarios all with an overarching story. I supremely enjoyed it and have found myself coming back to it on occasion even after finishing it.

Stray looks so promising. I hope it lives up to it.
I remember when it was just some concept art a game about a cat hanging out in a walled city. And then when they revealed the actual gameplay trailer at that event, suddenly there were robots and stuff walking around.
I hope it lives up to what I had in my mind all those years ago. Seems pretty cool so far. That cat sure is a cat.
