During my last FF stream, I had someone from my chat, a name I didn't recognize, send me a Twitter message saying they'd never played a FF game before and only knew about it from my stream.
WTF?! Now I have pressure to finish the series for this poor, young soul.

Well this fucking sucks. . .DARKTIDE got delayed?! I saw it in "upcoming games" on STEAM and was furiously refreshing OpenCritic and wondering why there were no reviews whatsoever - then clicked the actual STEAM storepage and now the wind has just been knocked out of me (though this just might be an excuse to drink).
. . .seriously though this stinks.
Looks like November 30th now according to Steam page.
Hey everyone, do you like the original Resident Evil games? Well, you'll love The Hotel! It's finally shown up on Steam and is releasing soon™ on September 27th. I did all of the male voice characters in the game. It's been in production for over 3 years as it was developed by a single guy in his spare time. Check it out:
12 years ago I was explaining to my very African father about about how record breaking APB's shutdown was. How does this compare?
It's much less impactful because nobody has ever played Babylon's Fall.
What actually happened here? Bad marketing, or the game wasn't good, or...?
The game was bad and it looked bad, so nobody played it and nothing of value was lost.
Basically this. I played the beta and was ever so slightly interested and then it launched and I couldn't find a single person saying it was remotely fun.
I completely forgot to mention that I've played and completed Norco. And I highly recommend it! It's got deliciously good writing, the setting is weird and unique, and I just love the mood and unsettling undercurrent in it
Messing around on steam after completing New Vegas and realized I never played through the wasteland games despite owning them for literal years. Started Wasteland 2 and how the hell did I not play this 10 years ago? Its oldschool as hell but I’m having a ton of fun. (I’m also remembering that I don’t think I ever really played through fallout 2 despite beating fallout 1 twice and all the 3d fallouts multiple times)

I mean with all seriousness, Dark Alliance was all I knew Baldur's Gate to be about, I didn't know of any of the other games for a long time.
People have, do, and will always have different points of reference than everyone else.
I love the extra linux/etc development that the Steam Deck has facilitated.
https://github.com/89luca89/distrobox
Distrobox has been updated with support, and instructions for immutable file systems like the Steam Deck. This allows you to run linux distributions inside your terminal containerized but also fully integrating with your host system. What does this mean for the Steam Deck? It means you can install Arch/Fedora/whatever inside of your Steam Deck and use your normal package managers and repositories for programs and applications and are no longer limited to just flatpacks and/or appimages. And this will survive SteamOS updates as it'll live on your Home partition.
Basically, the Steam Deck now has access to literally nearly every linux program now.
Oh, and hey, the programmer of Bottles has a GUI application that interfaces with it (and other docker/podman containers too) if you want to do more GUI and less command line for setup and maintenance.

They're also remaking Yakuza Ishin but they're renaming the series "Like a Dragon", a la retroactively naming the Phoenix Wright games "Ace Attorney". It only took them like a dozen games.
I walked past my wife playing disney princess simulator and burst out laughing because she was on a quest called "Burying the eel"
nothing will convince me someone on the writing team isn't sneaking double entendres into this childrens game to fuck with people now; nothing But she claims i just have a dirty mind

As much as you wanna believe this is tailored towards kids, adults have the money and make the spending decisions. Like, if you go to Disneyland or Disney World, there are wayyyyy more adults who are into this more than any kid you'll ever meet.

I assumed the game was targeted more towards adults and I still would not have assumed that quest name was anything other than actually burying an actual eel.

I've never heard "burying the eel" used as any kind of euphemism before, so I'm with your wife on this one.
As much as Disney likes to include jokes that go over kids' heads, I don't think this is one. :P
Freedom Planet 2 is a much bigger upgrade over the original than I expected. Movement feels so much more fluid, you can ground attack while running, you have like fifty different moves to keep yourself up in the air, and the level design catapults you forward like its Sonic 2. The sharp graphics clock in at a whopping 360p (evenly scaling to 720p on Deck and all common monitor/TV resolutions), and the soundtrack features some great remixes of original tunes. And so far while it sounds like the same questionable voice actors and writing, the cutscenes are short and to the point, and the speed/combat levels are instead broken up with a mario-style world map and small sidescrolling hubs full of NPC chat and shopping like Zelda 2 towns. The default button assignments on Deck are a little wonky but nothing a little remapping can't fix and the game otherwise runs great. Strong recommend if you even halfway enjoyed the original or are otherwise missing those Sega Genesis/Mega Drive days.
For fans of Splinter Cell's Spy vs Merc multiplayer, the upcoming game Spectre is a spiritual sequel to it. I got to play some of it at PAX West. Check it out:
The summers of 2004 and 2005 for me were pretty much nothing but spies vs mercs in PT and then CT. I still have friends on my XBL list that I made in that game. The multi was so fun and there has been nothing like it since so I'm really hopeful this can bring back some of that magic.

I miss the green steam. The real OGs were playing built in chess. I remember being pissed though when all I wanted to do was install HL2 and it made me install some damn program called steam.

I just realized dead island 2 doesn't make sense as a title anymore.
You also get the DLC free if you get the bundle of the two games.
edit: I for one am glad they finally are putting all the Yakuzas/Like A Dragons and Yakuza/LAD-likes on Steam/PC, finally. There was a kerfuffle over the likeness/image rights of the actor who plays the main guy in Judgment, as his talent agency in Japan is apparently very strict about where he appears. They didn't want people doing nude-y mods with him and his PC body.

Do this guy a solid and add it to your wishlist, even if you don't want to buy it. The metrics help out a lot. Thanks!

Also there's a psychic(?) plush monkey
Where was the fucking hype cycle and previews?
Need to find a full review ASAP, I'm ready to dump cash as long as there weren't any massive blunders like Trine 3 ran into.

Isn't that the most Disney thing anyway?

Just doesn't feel worth it at that price after playing the demo. Will cross my fingers for a sale with the new one coming out.
Judgment and Lost Judgment are just out? No announcement nothin? That's crazy!
