Whether or not they're relevant to your interests smof, they're at least not on your list, so my current rotation is:
- the Bugle, a weekly international news podcast that used to feature Andy Zaltzman and John Oliver until John got too employed in the US and it became a rotating cast of comedians from around the globe; they most often feature UK and US politics but also dip out to handle Australian, Indian, and other news
- the Gargle, an offshoot of the Bugle by an extremely funny lady named Alice Fraser, which is about mostly non-politics-related news, described as the "audio glossy magazine" companion to the original show
- Maintenance Phase, which has a similar style to your standard Dollop/BtB/whatever shows where someone explains the history of something to another person, but it is entirely focused on diet and nutrition stuff, and both hosts will alternate the storytelling duties. I find it muchhhhh more listenable than the other stuff like it because it isn't outright depressing and actually can be great for teaching you valuable things about nutrition and critical thinking, while also making me scream in my car about how some guy thinks paleo diets are good for babies
- the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia podcast remains extremely good as I work through it
- I still need to catch up on Rude Tales
- I've got the standard Bombcast, Gerstcast, and Waypoint podcasts on my phone but have been real bad at actually listening to 'em and they're honestly kinda last resort for me these days, if I need background noise and don't have an alternative
- and also some probably not super relevant Canadian podcasts that are news-related from the CBC like Front Burner, which gives an in-depth report on one topic each day that's been in the news for a bit
Jeff Gerstmann is starting another podcast tomorrow, Game Boyz II Men with Glenn Rubenstein. It will cover his history with games, starting back in his childhood with the start of the SNES. Patreon exclusive for folks at the $10 tier or higher.
I subscribed to a certain podcast's patreon and I guess I have it connected to my Discord, because I was added to podcast's group and one of the hosts is asking me what's up

Waypoint this week talks about the WWE game and then shortly after do a little bit of wrestling discussion and it was very exciting for me, personally. I also really liked their guest on this ep, I will definitely be seeking out his writing and other podcast appearances

Anyone have good tabletop play podcasts to recommend?
Got tired of High Rollers Aerois (it's just so full throttle all the time) and not really getting into Black Dice Society (not fan of some of the characters, which kinda dampens the mood on otherwise excellent game).
Will start to listen to critical roll at some point i guess, but looking around for other podcasts to check first.

A few that I listen to and enjoy
Eidolon Playtest: A series of actual play playtests of EIDOLON: Become Your Best Self, a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure-inspired RPG, a wide range of wonderful, weird stories that really tap into that "anything can happen here" vibe you get from JoJo
Protean City Comics: Primarily a MASKS actual play pod, that replicates the feel of following a fictional comic company's line of comics. It's my favorite MASKS ap, it hits great superhero vibes, teenage angst, and really leans into the vibe of "you're picking up comics off a rack, and they intersect in cool, interesting ways"
Heart Points: A husband and wife play longform two-player games together; they have a really wonderful chemistry and if you like listening to two people bounce ideas off of one another, you'll enjoy it
Dice Comics: A longform fanfiction Actual Play set in an alternate DC Universe, following a team of teenage heroes including a new Blue Beetle, Flash, and Lex Luthor's daughter
Campaign: Originally a Star Wars: Edge of the Empire podcast about a group of mercenaries who ended up with the plans for the first Death Star, which is my favorite Actual Play campaign and frankly anything else is a distant second; that campaign ended and it shifted to Campaign: Skyjacks, which is a sky pirates setting inspired by the Decemberists
Neoscum: A goofy Shadowrun podcast that just ended, very funny with good characters and a strong sense of drama
In the latest episode of Swindled... If I had a dollar everytime some funeral home/cremation company repurposed bodies to make an extra buck.... I'd be much richer than I would expect, and just as appalled.
Went to that there Comedy Bang Bang World live show in LA
Bonanas for Bonanza, Hey Randy, Entree P. Neuer's Entrepreneur Tour as openers, full episodes of each.
What a very fun, very, very, very, very long show
Are those episodes only like 20 minutes each or were you there for like 5 hours
The latter! It was entirely too much! Still a lot of fun, though.
I went to the show with one of my best friends, whom I met in a UCB improv 101 class like a decade ago. The first time we hung out outside of class, we went and saw Harris Wittels do standup with some other folks, because we liked him on CBB. Made me feel hella wistful, it was a good night.
In genuinely shocking news, TAZ is returning to Dust for a few episodes guest starring Erika Ishii, but even more surprising than letting Travis stink up the joint again, after that Justin is running Blades in the Dark. Flailing for listeners or hitting their stride? Either way at least it's something
The bell scene in Dust is still probably the funniest thing to come out of TAZ, but that ain't necessarily worth much

I'm not sure TAZ is ever gonna hit for me the way it did when their first campaign was at its height, but hearing Ethersea was pretty good and that Justin is gonna try and run a game makes me happy
I'll investigate those things at some point, but I'm hearing a lot more exciting things about stuff like Dimension 20 and Rude Tales these days, and based on what I've listened to those take priority
I'm of the opinion that Ethersea was pretty good (way better than Graduation) but ended abruptly for various in universe and meta reasons. I was definitely losing interest by the final arc because of the sudden "the world's ending!" consequences and felt it peaked with the Cambria arc. That said, I stuck around until the end, which is more than two of my friends did.
I'm pretty excited for both new projects. Yes, Travis is DMing again, but it's for a short arc, and he works okay in small doses. I still love the "Bigfoot stole my car" one-off. And Erika Ishii is a pretty cool guest to have!
Justin hosting Blades in the Dark is even more interesting news. I haven't played it yet, but the RPG thread has sung its praise enough for me it to intrigue me.
You know what? Nanowrimo's cancelled on account of the world is stupid.
I like Rude Tales, but sadly I can't really get into Rude Tales anymore. The release schedule is so sporadic that I don't feel excited about the plot. I'm not in a hurry to listen to the episodes because I never know if the next one is going to be two weeks, three weeks, or more away.
I get why they're doing it, I just probably will end up relegating the show to a nice surprise when it comes out and nothing more.
Latest Always Sunny pod is pretty great, but you should definitely watch the video version.
They go through all the dancing on the show.
The Sunny podcast is the one getting the most of my energy as I catch up on it right now
There's a few episodes I have had to shelve halfway so I can join the creeps in watching the video edition (The Gang Browns Out being first on the list for when I have some time)
Sure, why not? Here's my podcast schedule.
Monday: Very Random Encounters. I'm caught up! I'm a Patreon backer, so I better be. Updates almost every week.
Tuesday: Nothing in particular, so usually Writing Excuses, in a desperate attempt to get back to writing regularly. I'm caught up for this year, but I also missed all of last year, so I catch the concurrent episode from last year as well. That way I'll be caught up with both years by the end of this year.
Wednesday: D20 Dames, another Liveplay podcast with all female (and some nonbinary) players and DMs. Just started their second campaign after their first ended a few months back. Updates every other week.
Thursday: Still listening to TAZ, seeing if my friends are going to pick it back up after they lost interest in Ethersea. Juggles between weekly and semi-weekly updates, going back to weekly for now.
Friday: When I remember it Homestuck Made This World, a subseries of a podcast called Ranged Touch. Honestly, I only know it for the Homestuck podcast, so can't comment on their other stuff. Updates every other week. I still have about an hour left of last week's episode.
When I'm caught up on the above, I'm slowly working through the backlog of Rude Tales of Magic or Neoscum. I also sometimes listen to System Mastery, but I pick episodes sporadically out of interest in the games they're reviewing since it's not like they have a serial story arc to worry about.
You know what? Nanowrimo's cancelled on account of the world is stupid.
Every once in a while I will pop on an episode of Homestuck Made This World, having not listened to any past episode 2 and not knowing anything about Homestuck beyond that, to listen to Michael's recap and be buffeted by Nouns and nonsense.
I recently listened through the Game Studies Study Buddies backlog and can now confidently state that I have heard of Deleuze, Guattari, Derrida, and the one who killed his wife.
Mmm, yes. Biopower in World of Warcraft, yes, I have heard of it. It is very interesting. Very Fookcoatiean. Mmm.
Here's a selection of podcasts that I don't think I've seen mentioned here before.
The Dungeoncast - Goes into deep dives on the monsters of Dungeons & Dragons (shout out to Demogorgon!).
Axe of the Blood God - The hosts talk all about video game RPGs, from specific games to discussions on topics such as the best RPG openings.
QAnon Anonymous - Started out focusing on QAnon nutters but talks more about right wing weirdness in general now.
None Dare Call it Ordinary - Where I learned about Breatharianism and about how Taylor Swift is actually a reptilian clone.
Breaking Mayberry - A podcast where people who never watched the Andy Griffith show investigate to see if it broke Boomers' brains.
The Magnus Archives - A horror fiction podcast that starts as mostly standalone "statements" before developing a surprisingly deep mythos.
Wizard & The Bruiser - The hosts extensively detail the history and making of various fixtures of nerd pop culture (they actually managed to make the story behind Funko Pops kind of interesting).
Belief It or Not - Mostly covers fucked up details about Evangelical culture and history, from the well known to the obscure (ever heard of the Bible Riots?).
Hardcore Gaming 101 - Each episode a specific game is discussed before objectively and definitively ranking it on the Top Forty-Seven Thousand, Eight Hundred and Fifty-Eight Games of All Time list.

Oh I watched Homestuck until the end, so my enjoyment is 90% the incredulous reaction from the guy who didn't read it before. Sadly, they sometimes don't give enough time to my favorite bits. Like the time "Megalomania" came up in the comic and they were like "who cares."

Now hang on a second
According to their intro, at least. In practice, it's more like the hosts saying things like "surely this is better than Rock n' Roll Racing" and "hold on, we're not seriously putting this above Stardew Valley, right?"
I've been devouring the Comedy Bang Bang live episodes for the current tour. Even so, I can't keep up with their release pace. Just about done with Vancouver which was like 2 weeks ago now. Normally this would be too much CBB but they've been quite good and I have a huge CBB appetite lately.
