So if I fuck up a jump in the current end of season mission, the internal logic that people jerk off to is that someone teleports my body back to a platform, where my ghost is waiting to resurrect me?
Why does anyone need "lore" for a shooter video game that mainly delivers its story through text dumps, and features strikes that make no sense if you want them to fit into current "cannon"?
It's fine, relax and shoot some space dudes with your space guns.
(Yes, that's needlesly shitty, but you can't be super tight with your "lore" and run a pseudo game-as-a-service, which always includes prior content, because that's just how it works if it's going to be at all feasible)
Lol, imagine missing a jump outside the space station, and rezzing in the Cosmodrome, because that's where your body went splat.

Maybe Guardians can vaporize themselves with Solar or whatever in the situation that they’re floating in space ?
XBL - Foreverender | 3DS FC - 1418 6696 1012 | Steam ID | LoL
Well the rule is that if you don't have a body (vaporized) then you can review them anywhere.
Which is a bit silly that vaporizing is, in effect, a preferred outcome to, say, choking to death or being shot in the face for these purposes. Traveler must find it hilarious.
But it has the benefit of dissuading someone from just carpet bombing an area to kill a guardian (cabal tried, and found it hard to get the ghosts in the collateral anyways, so it was moot (whether this is satisfying is up to the individual))
Ghost res works on Word Document Logic (a terrifying alternative to Sword Logic). If the file is closed and in a known location you can do whatever you want. If the file is deleted and missing you can do whatever you want. If the file is open? Then you're gonna get a whole bunch of error messages when you try to copy paste shit.
The biggest news is that Devrim is back and he's part of the seasonal story lol (The season is about defending Earth from invading Calus forces)
Also it looks like the seasonal exotic will be a bow, Verglas Curve (Verglas is a thin layer of ice, so it's probably the stasis bow shooting an icicle shown earlier in the video) according to the Guardian Ranks screen. Some Guardian Ranks will reset every season, so it looks like a new version of seasonal challenges almost?
We’re also seeing some conversations around crafting, and we wanted to confirm that for Lightfall’s release, the number of crafted weapons will be similar to what was released in The Witch Queen.
What you can craft in Season 20:
Seasonal weapons.
Neomuna weapons.
Base raid weapons
Plus, a handful of other weapons that don't have direct comparisons to TWQ sources.
In Season 21 going forward, the following will be craftable:
Seasonal weapons.
Raid reprise weapons.
Seasonal weapon for Season 20 is a void glaive, Ecliptic Distaff, it's all purple and got the Queen's seal on it, it's neat
2 new character boosters: Lightfall Character Booster which gives you a set of high power gear but does not skip Lightfall (requires 1 character that has hit soft cap but hasn't completed Lightfall), and the Lightfall Campaign Skip Booster which skips the Lightfall campaign and unlocks Strand for that character (requires you to have finished Lightfall and unlocked Strand on another character)
no talk at all of fixing stasis unlock and requiring you to complete the entire campaign again just to unlock strand on alts unless you want to pay them actual dollars is so predatory.
Looks like I'm dumping Titan for Warlock yet again.
The main takeaway from the ViDoc for me was that Hunters now look amazing in PvE and I might actually be compelled to play mine that has literally been untouched as anything other than a place to store exotic weapons.
yeah this will be the first time I've played something other than my Titan in about 2 and a half years, dang. I played a Hunter for a bit when a friend of mine started playing, but literally everything else has only been on my Titan.
Gonna play Hunter, the rope dart seems way too cool to pass up on.
"Letting" you pay them to skip the unlock is the closest Bungie's ever come to an account-wide unlock for a new class. You had to do the whole quest for Arc, you had to do the whole quest for Stasis, and now you've gotta do the whole thing for Strand.

Guess my Hunter and Titan will never get Stasis and possibly Strand then.
"do the campaign" is at least less bad (i assume, if it's like the twq campaign) than "go to riis-reborn rise 9 trillion times because we didn't really create an actual campaign for this expansion"

In a game where you run the same strikes, raids, etc. a million times, I’m totally fine with running the campaign on each character to unlock Strand, especially if the campaign is the same quality as WQ

Now that we’re in the era of consoles finally doing fast updates and often have the updates ready before you even turn on your game, it’s a real bummer that Destiny is doing big in-game updates that crawl at the speed of a high impact auto’s firing rate.
I understand that it skips certification time which is a plus, but it would pretty awful if this is something that we’re gonna experience every single week.
Cert also feels like way less of a hurdle than it used to be. And yeah, that slow ass in game update made me wonder if my internet was dead but nope, just Destiny things.

I was getting less than a MB per second until 45%, then it rushed to 100%. It’s was the same on Tuesday, too. Hope it’s not like that on the 27th…
My preparations for Lightfall are pretty much done. I have about 15 levels of bounties saved up, and I’m now just running high level Lost Sectors for missing armour, and finally completing a load of catalysts I’ve had for ages, but not started.
Is they new in-game LFG coming this season ? Or is it delayed to the next one ?

Delayed until season 23, the last season of the year.
Is gonna be semi-daily or something? I got an update yesterday and another one today.
Edit: apparently this is a bug and I’m gonna get to experience this every time I launch the game. The speed isn’t the bug, but having to update every time you launch is. Greaaaat.
I'm really glad there's a channel dedicated to clipping all these seasonal interactions. Some of said activities, I just can't deal with doing more then I have to.
Honestly, the challenges/triumphs that Bungie asks for are far too high of a bar for most people. I mean, honestly, this season's main quest track required the player to do the seasonal event three times to progress the storyline, and then an additional three times... just because, I guess? A quest step that is "go do the thing (again) and come back" doesn't add to the storyline progression - it's just filler.
I wound up running a dozen Wellspring activities last night because I realized I never got a second exotic glaive pattern. While I was in the middle of it, I remembered why. I was so bloody SICK of doing Wellspring from when it was released I vowed never to do it again. Nine months later I'd forgotten that and ran it enough to get my glaive. But I was pretty close to calling it quits again when it dropped!
There's some really great lore in the game, but it sometimes is tucked away behind unreasonable grind - and only appears randomly (or is time gated based on where the season is). They really need to work on the lore presentation!!!
The dialogue changing over the course of the season to reflect the story moving forward is really cool. But it's not meant to be the point of doing the activity, it's just extra lore delivered while you do the thing you were (probably) going to be doing anyway.
There's actually a ton of lore and unique dialogue in those interactions every season. I swear at least half of the new recorded dialogue each season is there.

Like the very important lore tidbit of Zavala teaching Caiatl how to knit!
Give me a Warlock class item ornament that's just a crewmate stuck to an armband
Give me a Titan armor set that's only a single flat color and makes your arms invisible and gives you a backpack
Give me the Crewmate Ghost Shell
(a friend's suggestion) Give me The Skeld as a ship
Tons and tons of changes to most PVE activities. There is way too much to go into just highlights here, go read it. Here's a few though:
STRIKE SCORING IS BACK BAYBEEEEEEE. The higher your score in a Nightfall or Vanguard Op, the higher your Vanguard rep multiplier goes. (1x at 0-30,000, multiplier increases every 5k points, highest is 7x at 250,000)
"Adept" difficulty is being removed from all activities that had it. Hero difficulty will now be available at 1750 (soft cap) and Legend/Master will be at 1800 (Power cap)
All high-end activities with difficulty now have Power disadvantages: Hero is -5, Legend -15, Master -20, Grandmaster Nightfall -25
Burns being split into three mechanics: Threats, which is +25% incoming damage of an element, and Surges which is +25% outgoing damage of one element (Surges available are both seasonal and weekly, for season 20 the seasonal one is Strand with Void and Solar rotating weekly). There's also Overcharge, which gives one weapon type a +25% damage bonus (Kinetic weapons will be Overcharged if you're using a Surging subclass), does not stack the bonus with Surge, the Overcharge selection will either be preset or come from the season's anti-Champion weapons
Enemies in nearly every activity with difficulty settings have had their health increased and are more resistant to stagger (this does not apply to Raids and Dungeons, which are getting their own changes, and Seasonal Battlegrounds where it's actually reduced)
Seasonal Battlegrounds will continue to have a -5 Power disadvantage
I'm not sure how I feel about the pinnacle challenge for Strikes being raised from 3 pw to 5 pw. Maybe they will be "more fun" with increased difficulty. Currently, they're like sleepwalking through the encounters and they finish in ~10 minutes / 30 minutes for a pinnacle.
I do like that the Nightfall challenge is going to be 200,000 points across multiple runs!
Lost Sector changes seem misguided. I'm not skipping them because they're "too easy", I'm skipping them because I already have all of the exotics I want/need.

My read of that was that nightfalls count towards the 5. It will probably come out to about the same for the two powerfuls of vanguard/adept nightfall. Gonna be real easy to accidentally hit 200k over multiple runs if you use nightfalls though.
I am not sure I understand why making enemies, especially red bars, damage sponges is a good idea. I’ve never found buffing enemy health to be a compelling game mechanic. It feels like filler.
red bars having more hp can be threatening, it’s why gladiators are so scary at high difficulty. they’re beefy as fuck and can oneshot you as a red bar.
the real place where health is stupid is like, bosses having gigantic health pools when they don’t really do anything and you just have to plink them down. the lightblade and glassway are big offenders of this, the hard and fun part is the add waves but then you just have to plink the boss down to the next demark and it’s not really dangerous but just annoying.

How does vaporizing help with the situation of "need a body to rezz" though?
