While they're getting rid of pointless currencies they could probably ditch ascendant shards, enhancement prisms, exotic cyphers, spoils of conquest, enhancement cores, whatever that bullshit transmog currency is called, and probably some others I'm forgetting.
Most of those have hard caps so don't have the same issue. Enhancement cores though are a real head scratcher with this announcement.

At least they didnt go for Bright Dust instead (this time), I bet they’d really like to delete that currency, they already keep making BD less useful with more silver only things.

Enhancement Cores are gonna be the new legendary shards I think. But rarer and less used. I suspect there's much smaller hordes there.
Also all the currencies listed there have a specific place and purpose. The thing with legendary shards is they were basically just "the other glimmer".

That cores take up actual inventory space is a big limiter, at least psychologically. I know I've deleted full stacks of those things.
Though they've got the burn rate at a reasonable place now where I don't have to do that very often.
Oh, with no light level raises the uses for them go way down. They might have a looming issue there once everything in the vault is 1810.
a heavy grenade launcher merged with an aggressive shotgun is like launching a missile volley
we just cleared a GM in 14 minutes lmfao, this is the best weekend ever
Gonna try Crota tomorrow, gonna feel like D1 Crota all over again
Aggressive frame + mulligan + chain reaction on the Planck's Stride machine gun is absolutely the most busted weapon. It's an infinite ammo bullet hose that melts everything. Even unstunned unstoppable champions in the GM are nothing to it.
I ran the master lost sector a couple times for fun. Even on a Moon lost sector at -18 power I was getting sub 4 minute clears. Just casually walking around hipfiring my machine gun.
that people are doing cheap solo flawless with incredibly broken guns oneshotting bosses might be the thing that makes me uninstall destiny. solo flawless on dungeons isn’t that hard really but it’s an endurance test and makes you think and learn the encounters and how to do them safely while finishing them in a reasonable amount of time and being able to lmao instablap things and get the emblem feels hella bad if you spent the better part of a week doing attempts.
I got some sherpas done on Crota, got my dungeon done, did a legendary exotic mission for my last mission Vexcaliber catalyst, did a tier 7 deepdive, went flawless. Farmed alot of golf balls but sadly no good rolls of anything. Productive weekend

FWIW this is hardly the first time that in-game glitches, or even the game working as designed like the boosted ability uptimes during the old Revelry event, have cheapened accomplishments in the game. All that ultimately matters is whether you yourself feel proud about what you've accomplished. And you always can look back at the date of the clear to "prove it".
I did all the other solo flawless runs in the game normally, with whatever OP shit that season gave us.
Except GOTD which is just stupid and after some attempts last season I gave up in disgust. The combination of very long pre-DPS phases and giant health pools with regenerating shields and extremely dangerous damage phases is too much bullshit.

Does it? I can't really tell what the Super actually does. Looks like you throw a fireball that's shaped like a bird? And you can throw a couple of them. The player seems more excited about the Solar Soul.

watch the ability cooldowns. It gives you super strong melee and grenades and super quick recharge, like Radiance in D1
Okay, new Titan super is just trolling the whole "Not another roaming super" crowd.
We made another roaming Titan super that lets you also get your friends to lock into roaming super style!
Edit: Also there's going to be like .5 seconds until they make a "Only 1 big axe" exotic that becomes mandatory for DPS.
They didn't even make the axes look cool in their own promotional preview. In the first clip the player dies trying to use it, and in the last clip the group fails to kill the boss using it. Hopefully there's more to it. The axes look like traps as-is.
Maybe one day, titan will get a ranged, one-and-done damage super.

They just did that with the big hammer super, didn't they? There's a new-ish exotic that turns it into a slam that makes a big fire tornado or something.
They have a real problem with super identity. I wouldn't mind if Titans were pushed towards ad control supers if they didn't keep crippling ad control supers because of PvP. The damage on roaming supers is weird. They all mostly instantly kill in PvP but barely tickle hard content PvE enemies. Because of that they can't go on too long because that's horrible in PvP and become vaguely useless in PvE. They should probably do some sort of diminishing returns on repeated supers strikes so Fist of Havoc could one shot some yellow bars in GMs but wouldn't be the best boss damage super. They've kind of painted themselves into a corner with Thundercrash capping the upper limit. Arc probably needs to have the light attack send out a blinding burst as well as just doing way more damage.
That's kind of where I'd want them to push them. Ad clear supers should actually have a strong CC component if they aren't going to do the damage of DPS supers. To bring it back to the axe-Armageddon new super it should be really really hard to die when wielding those axes. Big old overshields that all refresh when any axe gets a kill with a helping of DR on top. The damage can be only okayish if you aren't going to die while using it.
Without that it's just gonna be another Nova Warp that's even harder to use because you need your teammates to get on the plan as well.
Supers are where the attempt to have an integrated PvP and PvE sandbox most shows it's limitations. On multiple levels. Trying to make one-off supers and roaming supers balanced in terms of power in two different modes where supers play out completely differently is basically impossible.
Huh, I actually tried out the Checkmate "modifier" they're testing in Crucible Labs... and I think I like it?
The general gist, from what I understand it:
You have something around +30 HP
Abilities and supers charge VASTLY slower.
Guardians don't drop special ammo on death, you don't start with any, and you don't lose any you're carrying on death. Instead, you have a Transmat meter in your buff bar that fills while you are actually participating in combat. When it's full, you get a brick.
So it seems to make PvP more gunplay focused (with the occasional ability for spice), and fights seem to play out a bit more interesting.

I can't get any of the really fun stuff to work though. I've only been able to slap an aggressive frame on a few weapons.

Almost one phasing as a solo dungeon's probably a tad past reasonable :P But yeah I get what you mean
Because fuck that fight.
