So after you hit an enemy with the seeking arrows, hit them with a fully drawn arrow to make them explode. That's the magic of Ticcu's. I, too, was underwhelmed until I realized this.
Edit: Really, I prioritise "unique and fun" over "omg so broken insert streamer headline here"; otherwise I'd just grab a Witherhoard with that cipher. Symmetry looks cool, seems reasonably effective, and I have hopes for arc seekers next season. And full-auto SRs are probably one of my favorite archetypes, besides.
I'm with you on this and it is a strong portion of my evaluation of Symmetry. It wasn't fun and it isn't especially powerful. Using it to get the catalyst was a drag. Ticcu's at least has a fun gimmick that delivers on what it promises.
So Mr. Fruit, a youtuber who does Destiny content sometimes (used to be super into it then branched out) started doing a fun new series: Him vs. another Destiny streamer/YouTuber, 15 minutes to get any loot they can from any drops or rewards, then using only that gear (and whites for any missing slots) they 1v1 in Crucible. It's fun, seeing all these old and never-used weapons and armor is cool, plus it's interesting to see the loot strategies. It is very youtuber-y, lots of screaming and clickbait thumbnails, and stuff like that if you don't like that stuff.

Okay so if DMT didn't hit for "holy shit what" even on a body shot, I'd be so annoyed with it. (Okay. Not that annoyed. A little annoyed. It is definitely not angering me except for maybe those sights.)
Is 2x targeting mods overkill? Second one is giving 50%, I know that much about the stacking, but TBH I have no idea what the hell they're actually doing other than in theory "me shoot head better".
Edit: Okay I got 30% through the catalyst just idly popping heads off Scourge on the throneworld. I may be overstating my potential annoyance.
I finished the second Sever mission last night and I am once again impressed with just how on-point the writing is for this storyline! I'm really looking forward to seeing the next installment which features (I think) Zavala. I am also impressed by how the Containment event ending voice-over changes to reflect where you are in the storyline, rather than just all jumbled up into a giant random grab-bag as they have been in prior seasons. It really helps with the continuity of the seasonal storyline for people coming in later!! It looks like the audio messages and environmental changes in the H.E.L.M are being fed out relative to where I am in the story as well, rather than just all auto-unlocked (since the season is already mostly over and the story is "done" for the vast majority of players).
The second week's challenges, however, seem to have been designed by a child. Opening 150 location chests on the Leviathan!? Considering that only two chests spawn per Containment completion, this is a ridiculous ask, IMO. Granted it was one of the first couple of weeks of the season, so maybe they are expecting people to work on it over a long time period and not try to blast it out in a single night, but c'mon!! Even the most hardened Destiny player is going to get tired of running that silly event (which isn't great in my opinion) if you're asking them to do it more than a half dozen times a day for two straight weeks. I'm sitting at 23% done with this task after three days of dedicated play in the Leviathan. Mind boggling!!

Pretty sure the random chests in the other two areas also count. Equip a treasure finder ghost mod and just wander around a bit and you'll fill it fairly quickly while also hitting a bunch of other weekly challenges for Leviathan stuff.
Yah it's "chests", not those hidden chests. Just wander around a while, it's not a big deal. They're not as ubiquitous as in some of the other patrol zones, but they're there.

Yes but have you considered e n g a g e m e n t.
Pretty much every pve pain point in destiny is designed to get you to play a bad event way more than you want to.

Also, if you do nightmare containment III, that’s 50 full nightmare runs (150 tier whatever completions), and grab the 2 chests every time you’ll be at 100/150 without an exploration. The other 50 are easy to get if you do all the other triumphs for the names nightmares in the other two areas.

Still too many containments though
It's only about 4 a week just for this season. And technically all this should still be doable for another like 6 months after that too. Still a lot but not terrible. IMO it's like a lot of the requirements in these seals where it's a lot if you try and rush it but it's not near as bad if you just don't pay attention to it and let it come when it does.
If Haunted Energy becomes less usable or less generous next season though, it's gonna feel more annoying to do.
Speaking of "unique and fun" weapons - this weekend I was blessed with a Krait roll with sustenance and headstone, with smallbore and flared mag. Yeah, it's a 720 AR so not exactly meta, but with the barrel choice it's super stable and is a bullet laser beam; between sustenance and the built-in Viest perk it feels like it has a clip size of about 150 rounds; and headstone unleashes so much AE damage and CC! If I had access to this gun when I was playing my Stasis Warlock I probably wouldn't have taken a break when I did.
I've only got 11 or so more completions of the Containment to finish up the seasonal challenges, plus a few more story beats and all the miscellaneous non-seasonal stuff they tossed in at the end. Probably less fun than it could have been since I'm basically banging out the entire season in about a week and a half, but I was able to leverage a lot of efficiencies that wouldn't have been possible originally. Like, for example, completing specific missions using limited elements. Those challenges would have showed up weeks later so you would have to repeat the missions to hit them. Sicne I already can see the whole thing, I just did them once and called it a day. I'm not sure if that is better.
I finally gilded myself unbroken. Was almost as painful as getting legendary to begin with
Finally though I went back to the build that got me my first d2 trials of Osiris fkawless. Suros + getaway artist. I’m honestly surprised no streamer has made this combo popular. Especially in the heal meta. Folks don’t expect how quickly that spun up suros plus a burst of enhanced arc buddy will kill them.
Plus arc buddy helps you know where to aim despite the visual difficulty of finding targets while shooting allowing to to slide around a corner pre firing then melt a face

I have a similar roll (overflow rather than subsistence), it's an absolute blast to use. A non stop bullet hose that leaves crystals in it's wake
27 more waves of Containment to go (seven complete events). I'm really having trouble being excited about this mode now. I am pretty sure I'm not the only one too. I load into empty lobbies about a third of the time.
On the other hand, banging out the Europa requirement (week 10) took all of 20 minutes. There was a group that was just jumping from Public Event to Public Event, making them heroic and completing them as quickly as possible. Efficiency for the win!

Containment is reeeeeaal good for "I have to kill 400 things for this catalyst..." situations. For when you want to do something more productive feeling than just bouncing yourself around the throneworld shooting things.
This season is the first time I am not getting the seasonal title. Something about the activities this season just didn't grab men Containment being the main example. The grind just seemed too long compared to other seasons, and a bit of fatigue is creeping in for non PVP.
Also finally completing Unbroken this season took foreeeeever, so PVE wasn't on the menu anyway.
But it feels weird to basically ignore both the seasonal title and the event title compared to every other time since Forsaken.
I didn't even notice the grind for this seasonal title. Maybe it was just nostalgia for the Leviathan but I don't think I worked for any of the requirements except maybe the scythe kills one.
I got burnt out hunting glaive red borders which I still haven't even gotten... One. Terrible drop rate.
I feel like it was way more generous the first week or two. Obviously zero proof of that but it sure feels like I was swimming in red borders the first week and haven't seen many since then.

On the topic of titles, I'm glad you don't have to max out the Solstice seal to earn it's achievement for the holiday seal. Just sixteen of the twenty-four needed.

That was remarkably kind of them. I'm kind of curious if they already have the other three titles achievements figured out or their just hedging themselves in.
On solstice news: Isn't this like the third year in a row where they've failed to put in the multiple character bonus thing until at least a week after launch? At a certain point I suspect that it is intentional and not overlooked.
i just discovered you can swap the loadout in the leviathan from castellum to containment on the "difficulty" selector and it (at least tries to?) puts you into an active containment event. I assume there's a fail chance but i haven't missed yet and even just reloaded immediately after a final containment to test if that worked and yeah it seemed to.
Also I got my first lubrae's on the rhulk challenge tonight!
Now I need to grind the Vangard rotator for a couple of days for the weapon skin, followed by either banging my head against Trials for 20 round wins (which could take multiple weekends at my skill level), or a single GM Nightfall (more likely, but I have trouble with non-matchmade events).

you missed out on the GM last week, Inverted Spire is super easy, the boss is killable in phase 1 or 2 which skips most of the fight, and the rest of the strike has multiple skips to skip fights, me and the randos I was finding were finishing runs in 10-13 minutes
I did a bunch of inverted spires last week. Got the merciless catalyst finally, now I need one more from nightfalls (hard light) and I'll have every randomly obtainable one in the game done. Glad it's arms dealer, these should be super quick too since you can kill the boss before the elevator hits the top.

I mean, it's the last 2 weeks of the season that started in May? It's pretty normal to see dropoff because pretty much everyone has been grinding the same content for three months.
I've still been piddling around in containment for red weapon drops a couple times a week and I haven't had any trouble getting successful runs still.

Yeah, there's no one doing it because people are done with the season. I have all my seasonal patterns done already so the only reason I've gone to the Leviathan for the past few weeks is because I needed to finish that Week 10 challenge.
All this stuff is calibrated assuming you log in every week with the new season and do The Thing. Do that and by the end of the season you should be basically done.
Also the seasonal titles should be doable till the next expansion so you've got loads of time.
I do hope arc is more like void and less like solar. Each void class felt like they brought something different you had to look out for. Each solar class is, like... healing and ignites.
So can someone who uses glaives in pvp explain how to hit someone with them? I swear I aim it at a dude in melee range pull the trigger but if they strafe at all it’s a 50/50 whiff
Am I doing something wrong or do they just suck if anyone moves at all?

I'm real worried for my boy the Striker. It has 2 and a half distinct classes in it right now and I just don't think that all three are going to survive. I expect bottom tree to lose basically all of the unique stuff that makes you want to use it. How the hell they're going to keep top tree and middle trees things without simply reducing them to fragments makes me think it is going to wind up like Dawnblade. Where you basically have a single subtree surviving, a pale shadow of one of the others that may or may not still work.
Warlock is in a similar place I'd guess. Hunter is...well somebody has got to be happy and it'd be hard for them to be worse off.

And besides learning that I need to have my champion stuff sorted in advance because they will launch immediately, it was actually stress free.
I’m intimidated to do it for stuff that requires communication though. I do not want to be on a mic with the wild internet.
I’ll do my dungeons with the clan thank you much
