Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs asked county employees to work at his home while they were on the clock, pressured a department head to lie to state investigators and cursed at him when he wouldn’t do it, according to a federal lawsuit the county settled by agreeing to pay $150,000 to former parks and recreation director Paul White.
Deputy law directors Houston Havasy and David Wigler denied any laws were broken in their response to the lawsuit that was settled last week. A county spokesperson told Knox News the work done at Jacobs' house - removing a snake from the home - wasn't done on county time because the workers were on their lunch break.
The suit was filled with claims about Jacobs' conduct during a scandal over the personal use of county resources.
The 134-page document details a tumultuous period in late 2020 when Jacobs' chief of staff, Bryan Hair, was accused of using a county golf cart at his home. Hair resigned, but the fallout led to an investigation by the state of Tennessee.
The suit lays out the internal efforts Jacobs and his aides made to hide the misconduct from reporters. The allegations include:
Jacobs encouraged White, the Parks and Recreation director, to lie to state investigators about Hair's illegal personal use of a county-owned golf cart.
Jacobs, a former WWE wrestler with an imposing build, pounded a desk and cursed at White when he refused to lie to cover for Hair after it was revealed he and his wife were using a county-owned golf cart that was delivered to their home.
Hair eventually returned the golf cart to the county, but Hair planned to tell investigators he had given it up months earlier, White said. Hair pressured White to lie and say he had the golf cart for only a few weeks. White said Hair threatened to fire him if he didn’t.
County spokesperson Abbey Harris denied the allegations in the suit, saying Jacobs never pressured White to lie. She showed a reporter lengthy text messages between Hair and White, including a photo from Hair thanking White for the golf cart the day it was purchased and delivered to Hair's home.
White says he was fired for trying to report Hair's equipment misuse. The county maintains he was fired because he created a hostile work environment in the parks and recreation department.

In classic DDT/Gatoh Move fashion there is a lot of weird and goofy comedy and intergender wrestling, and the last two matches are incredibly emotional bouts that draw on years of history between the wrestlers involved.

I do agree that there should be a balance cause those "cut scenes" can help establish stakes, provide a reason for the contests, or even introduce an angle people weren't expecting. Just 1 or 2 a show would be enough to give some complexion to the proceedings. Plus it gives Manager characters a chance to show that they're in a wrestler's entourage for more than just interference wins.

AR Fox is a 15 year veteran and damn good wrestler who's also the head trainer at a school with the best website in all of pro wrestling. He's a great guy to have around for coaching rookie wrestlers before even getting into his own in-ring talents.
And seriously, his Hell of War Match with Killshot (Swerve under a mask) is one of the best Lucha Underground matches in series history. It's one of those deathmatches that even people who can't stand deathmatches love.

Definitely this, and also a good portion of fans will take any opportunity to side with something that opposes wrestlers that they hate just because. In this case that's the Young Bucks and Kenny.
I'd still happily watch Punk wrestle again. And I'm sure there are a bunch of young guys in AEW with good things to say about him, because he's always helped other wrestlers, but he's always been a dickhead so there's people he rubs the wrong way.
Ultimately he delivers great promos and matches that I want to watch.

But he's also the type of dog that was absolutely going to require tooth surgery with a jaw like that, it was whether or not it was part of The Incident that caused it that was questioned
