Anatomically, the whale's throat is much too small to do anything but choke to death on something the size of a person, much less a kayak, given that their entire diet is baleen filtered small organisms and schooling fish. Anything that it scoops up that size will get spat out (a few years back, I think a diver had a go pro going or something when they were swimming near a school of small fish, and got snatched up then spat out).

This said a surprising number of divers and kayakers have still been killed in the process. Their jaws are strong enough to crush a person and once somethings in their mouth (an enclosed water filled space highly conducive to drowning) they squeeze it with a tongue the size of a small car.

Even more people get crushed under them or have their backs broken by their tails. They're amazingly gentle animals but have you ever seen a St. Bernard play "gently" with a pomeranian? Give them their space and then some.

I initially thought that video was fake because this part:

Looks just like when R2D2 was swallowed by the water creature on Dagobah in Empire Strikes Back.

I'm assuming most whales are about the same. But roughly speaking they can't swallow anything larger than a grapefruit.

Sperm whales apparently can, just about. But they're the only ones.

    Bad News:

Trump's EO on DEI shut down a concert the Marine Band was supposed to hold with teenagers that won performance competitions, due to them being black, brown, and Asian.

    Gone right:

In response, one of the groups in charge of the original concert got retired members of various military bands together with the kids and had an impromptu performance anyway:

    And here's the whole performance:

    1. That's incredible, and
    2. I wonder how much lead time they had. Facial muscle endurance goes away fast once you're not playing a wind instrument regularly anymore. Then again, I suppose a lot of them probably were!

Gone wrong: A teenager in Utah gets lost in a park and ends up stuck on a ledge.
Gone wrong 2: Although he is rescued, he drops his backpack onto a lower ledge and can't retrieve it.
Gone wrong 3: A month later, a father and his son get lost in the same park.
Gone right: The father and son end up stuck on the same ledge that the teenager dropped his backpack on and it's still there, complete with a first aid kit and emergency blankets, which keep them alive overnight until rescuers can retrieve them the next morning.

But I don't mind, as long as there's a bed beneath the stars that shine,
I'll be fine, just give me a minute, a man's got a limit, I can't get a life if my heart's not in it.
