If you go back to strategies regarding the Kiryu Coco era, there's a specific protocol when there's chaos and malignancy:
Subscriber only chat for a while
Observe, block, report
Just support the streamer
Some amount of harassment is just part of the streamer package. So is tip-toing through difficult situations. I bet there will be differences in how streamers and vtubers generally approach this, whether they'll dodge the topic or just bring it up head on. There may even be methods to provide meaningful feedback in a respectful manner, though such a thing is difficult to do in the medium.
The problem with "just support the streamer" is that it presumes what they're doing is completely cool and non-objectionable, and I would disagree this is. In this case, I would shift to "do not attempt to do harm to the streamer."

There are ways to do support without validating specific actions, but that doesn't mean everyone has to do all of it or really any of it. The reason it is part of the protocol is 1) silence amplifies the harassers by ratio which is rough and 2) trying to engage in more complex ways can make things worse or get you lumped in with the harassers if the streamer / mod has to make a lot of snap decisions really quickly. Of course, if you are aware of these factors, you may interact in the most appropriate way you see fit.
It's a survival mechanism for when things get really, really toxic, like unceasing doxxing and death threats toxic which hasn't happened in years, but has happened. It's for people who would otherwise panic in the moment. I doubt it will get that bad.
Marty: The future, it's where you're going? Doc: That's right, twenty five years into the future. I've always dreamed on seeing the future, looking beyond my years, seeing the progress of mankind. I'll also be able to see who wins the next twenty-five world series.
Yeah, this is one of the cases where I do think people have a right to not watch those streams because this is an area where they feel they can give any support to a specific individual and unfortunately, streaming content featuring IP by J.K. Rowling, means that even watching it would be giving J.K. Rowling support in the form of free advertising for the game.
The further any viewer should go on this matter though, is maybe find a thread discord and politely lay out the concerns. I want to say J,K. Rowling's transphobia is widely known, but I have to remind myself that I'm in an online space that makes me more aware of certain things, while also being less aware of other things. So possibly a well meaning streamer might have been unaware of what a shitbag J.K. Rowling is. Also get a few that might not realize that by financially supporting someone like J.K. Rowling, they are indirectly funding transphobic activity because of how Rowling donates some of her money to shitty causes.
Of course, you can get situations where unless you state the reason, not many are going to be aware of the issue either. I'm sure there are a number of transphobic content creators (streamers, artists, writers and actors) that haven't popped onto my radar because they low enough profile. That awareness of their fuckery hasn't made the rounds.
By polite, I mean something along the lines of
"Dear, [insert streamer's handle here].
I've noticed you are streaming content created by [insert shitty person's name here], how has the following issues [insert issues here]. I'm aware that there are a number of things to track and it's easy for someone to completely miss how problematic a certain content creator is if they aren't looking for it or directly impacted by the problematic pattern of behavior. So I wished to inform you of why certain communities and individuals such as myself might be upset with the content being featured in your stream on x date and many of us, if not all, will not watch future streams featuring that content. It is my hope that this is more an issue of you being aware and not intended malice.
I always want to make it clear to others reading this message, that while I and others, find the featured content upsetting, it's also not to be used as an excuse to harass [insert streamer's handle here]. If you want to support the individuals and community that have been negatively impacted, that's not done through harassing people. It's done by not financially supporting [insert name of shitty individual here] and spreading awareness."
Avoids causing issues and let's people better gauge if a content creator deserves continued support. Like I said, honest people will clue in and try to avoid featuring content from shitty bigots. If the content creator is a bigot themselves, they'll out their true nature and you'll know because they won't have the fall back of "well people we're being dicks and turnabout is fair play" or "since people we're being such dicks, I didn't feel it was worth investigating further because god they were being such dicks about it and wanted drama. So I figured it was a nothingburger."
Also avoid the much more likely scenario, given from what I've seen with most of the vtubers, where it drives them out of the industry altogether or for a significant amount of time, when they likely didn't mean anything ill. Just being hit by a little vitriol is unpleasant and I can only imagine that someone with a huge following and sizable public presence would get hit with a suffocating amount of vitriol; especially, since the asshole bigots like to act in bad faith. You know you'll get a couple transphobic bigots that will happily lead a brigade on a talent they don't like for supporting J.K. Rowling and that they'll have no qualms briefly pretending they aren't a transphobic asshole because they really get off trying to destroy people they don't like.
Moona is up and with subs only mode, like everybody streaming this game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2sx-TSo26c
After a million hours on character creation, as expected, she's on Slytherin.
Rowling's TERF-ness and how she actively funds shitty causes is absolutely not well known, especially when you bring Japan and Indonesia into the equation. I've seen a lot of people going "oh what, really? gross" in response to being shown what she's done when trying to understand what the fuck is going on and why everything is on fire.

Yep, it's easy for all of us to forget that we all live in our own bubbles that makes us more aware of somethings, while being less aware of other things.
I wouldn't be surprised if a ton of Asian VTubers were completely oblivious to how shitty J.K. Rowling is. It's not jut a language barrier for them, but also that their news media probably consider J.K. Rowling bullshit worthy enough to cover, given all the other shit that is going on in Europe. Hell, I'm pretty sure I learned of J.K. Rowling's awfulness from this board first before I even started seeing the US news media barely mention it.
As Moona shows, a lot of streamers would have a fun time playing this relatively normal video game, which makes people disconnected from the issue treat anyone complaining as a fun hating troll. Plus, in the normal course of things, trying to control the streamer's choice of stream is explicitly forbidden and annoying. Trying to thread the needle of "please don't do this thing that would otherwise be normal for you to do for indirect reasons A, B, and C" is basically impossible, especially with the constant refrains of "one guy'd!" and "chat trolling" and "chat stupid!" (which is why I'm against these refrains being so generalized in the first place, it's very bad practice to say that the audience trying to impart ANY kind of information to the streamer is wrong and stupid).
And TryCatcher's linked article shows why so few people understand the issue. They report the story as "Some people say she is a bigot while she says she is not. I guess there's no way to get to the bottom of this at all~~~" (shrug emoji, shrug emoji). They don't, for example, quote the things she's said, point out the extremists she regularly boosts, or show where her money proudly goes. No no, just, "She is bad in the mysterious opinions of people we will quote as being very emotional, who could say." Very unfortunately typical "both sides are equally valid" trash reporting.
Ultimately, this game is a kind of box of pain. Any streamer is free to jam their hands in there, but the results will be predictable. A savvy (if arguably cowardly) maneuver is this:
Yeah, I'm personally of the opinion that non-Anglo streamers playing the game shouldn't be taken as an endorsement of Rowling's politics anymore than an western streamer playing Dragon Quest should be taken as an endorsement of Koichi Sugiyama's* politics (in so far as any westerners play, much less stream Dragon Quest games). I don't expect people on a completely different hemisphere to be tuned in to the nuances of politics here, and I don't think expecting that is reasonable.
Well that sucks. Of the newest Nijisanji EN gen she's by far my favorite and among my favorite vtubers overall. I just love her vibe, attitude, and energy. Her FFXIV stream over the weekend was so much fun and I just narrowly missed out of getting into her raids. Hopefully she's back soon.

Looking in that thread there’s some examples of the shit she’s said and at least a couple of them are straight up vile.

Is not just a few off-color comments.
The main issue is that she keeps doing things like refering to her old online identities on her current account, which is against Niji policy, so her streams have to be privated, edited and then unprivated, most likely by management.
And she refused to stop doing things like that or her edgelord comments, even when she said that she would, so management finally got fed up.
Also, her most recent FFXIV stream went straight into the FFXIV mod issue, when right now there's several huge dramas about it.
Not a big thing, but a bunch of smaller things that keep happening and she doesn't want to improve, so she has to decide whatever she's willing to play ball or what.

I watch her almost entirely through VOD because her streams are at times I can't watch them live so I'm entirely unaware of any of this. Her giving zero fucks attitude is a big part of why I like her but it also looks to be a big part of why she's in trouble.
Does the game force you into one house for the sake of a single storyline

It's odd that existing fans can manage to be surprised by the result of the test, because it's basically one question with four obvious options. Choosing ambition over courage will give you snake-house.

Nice chart to figure out how honest a news source is.

Since is WACTOR, the way we find out is an annoucement against "difamation".
Can catch her new account here:
The only "big" talents they had left was her and Hizuki Miu, so maybe this time they are really done, will have to see.
