I don't know anyone who would be pissed off at that question. Like Endless_Serpents said, it's more a matter of how much time do you have and what do they want to talk about. And if you're asking something as wide-open as "why are things the way they are?" you deserve whatever answer you get because that's so incredibly broad, you're giving the other person a blank check to dissemble about whatever the hell they want.
I just watched a YouTube video about flatpicking because I'm interested in learning to play bluegrass guitar and it seems way too difficult when I try it

I think it's extremely important to note here that most jews, early christians, many catholics, various smaller sects of christianity, and liberal protestants aren't actually scriptural literalists RE: the torah
the notion that religion is completely intractable and incompatable with science is predominantly influenced by a very specific time and place with the catholic church and modern very vocal extremists who have absolutely fucked homiletics for generations
I am immediately and intensely suspicious of any and all "science can't explain literally everything, therefor god did it" framing
What I got from the video is that he suspects something else is at work. He is jumping to God because he is baffled.
In actual scientific research, we do not accept lack of evidence as proof that something is happening. Quite the opposite, really.
I guess that's the whole point though, scientific research almost always reaches a limit, a wall in every field where the answer tends to be "we don't know and can't explain it". Now, you can respond to this by saying we will eventually figure it out because the scientific method and its progression encompass everything because the things the scientific method encompasses ARE everything (that pesky cyclical logic again). Or, alternatively, entertain the possibility that some things, abstract or "spiritual", cannot and might never be scientifically accounted for.
The response more often tends to be, "we don't know and we can't explain it yet, but we've got some ideas on how to try"
Often at the same time as there's a handoff to the applied science folks and engineers of "see what you can make out of what we've already found"
I think we're broadly in agreement here, but the "yet" contains an implicit statement that in the end we will, because it is unimaginable we might not be able to
asserting God is the answer isn't any more correct, but I don't think anyone here is saying that. I feel like even the scientist in the video is using capital G God as a shorthand for this exact discussion we're having
Oh hey I did a joke post before seeing @Indie Winter post. They’re not in sequence.
My final word on the God business is even if we call the unknown God, this God that exists must still be a quantity, a thing that is part of the universe (perhaps expanding our idea of its limits), which must then be understood to get a better grasp of things. It doesn’t get us anywhere by leaving difficult questions unanswered.
Asserting God is the answer isn't not correct. The unknown itself is not an answer. Which brings us back to science.
the DHMIS show turned out to be really great, which is a relief because "take viral internet thing and make a way longer version" isn't usually a recipe for success

I'm not a historian but I think every religion in every era has had absolutists?

I don't know what this is meant to accomplish, but yes?
The Internet Discourse surrounding specifically christianity almost always takes the assumption that all christians are literalists and that's a very large problem/misconception
How many legs goes God have? I think if we can get that down we can work back from there.
six seems like a pretty safe assumption, I think. either that or zero (assuming flagella aren't legs)
like, if you were shown a random living creature and guess one of those two then your odds are pretty good
Perhaps God as no legs but everts its organs? Forever ejecting it's infinite stomach to lurch horrifically across the cosmos, absorbing hapless planets to be dissolved into God Nutrients.
I mean I'm sure he'll recover, but like he yeeted from the try guys real hard
Achievement hunter had a similar but possibly worse situation with one of their guys, who turned out to have been fucking women across the globe, at least one of whom was underage, and some which were absolutely sexual assault/rape.
He too was yeeted the fuck out, and when said guy tried to make a comeback to his twitch channel, the remaining members of AH launched a full out campaign with followers, youtube reps, and twitch reps to get that stopped.
He was perma banned before he even had another stream.
I could see the Try Guys exercising their force to try to lock Ned out of YT, and they might have enough clout to make it happen - especially if some other big names make a stink about it, but probably not
Regardless SNL has such a wider reach than try guys or YT in general. In the niche that is internet video, most people will probably know Ned was an asshole and abuser, but to the general non-online world, because of this, he'll always be the innocent dude whose friends just fucked him over.
I think they'd be hands off from any attempts Ned made to rebrand away from them. There's a big difference between a guy fucking around and assaulting, and a guy who cheated on his wife with a subordinate. They wouldn't come out looking good if they tried to take a hand in there.
That said, a big problem Ned is going to face with any content he made going forward is that his primary identity was Guy Who Loves His Wife. Almost all of his non-Try Guys content was done in collaboration with her, or centered on their children. He doesn't have anything to fall back into that doesn't have a connection to his controversy.

Unless his wife forgives him, which actually seems most likely to happen.
Then he'll have a whole line about the cheating and reconciliation and how strong their real love is now.

Oh, this reminds me!
Thanks to said unbelievably skeevy asshole, I can't go back and watch a lot of AH videos from their heyday. So many funny bits just ruined by his presence.
Luckily, the new AH crew seems to be recognizing that, and every now and then they'll restore one of those.
Like the Uno Movie - a nearly 3 hour game of Uno on the night Trump was elected where they all bullied each other into staying under crazy rules.
... So they decided to use the chance to "Redo" it to hype up their subscription service. I'd say it worked.
I may have linked it before, but here's the official VOD. No where near as many views as the old video (300k to 10M), but still.
Horatio Sanz is currently facing a lawsuit for grooming and sexual assault of a minor for things he allegedly did while he was at SNL, and that lawsuit implicated people like Jimmy Fallon as helping him, so I'm not exactly stunned that SNL has bad takes on workplace sex pest problems even if this guy's buddies didn't work there.
There's a point to be made about people having parasocial relationships with actors and youtube people and whoever.

Anyway,
God has a defined nature that he can both violate and cannot, thus he functionally cannot
he cannot compel a human to sin and also cannot revoke Grace, for instance
nothing say he can't be a bad bitch
Boom.
The pumps on God's heels are actually the eponymous "Pillars of the Earth" that Ken Follet's novel is referencing.

Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.
It's pretty crazy that this channel is SIX MONTHS old and contains several animated shorts and song parodies.

Long video but worth it for one of the most incredible third acts I've ever seen in a board game session.

37 hours. 32 minutes. 46 seconds. 1 round.
It's happening (probably not)
