Woof, I haven't seen the 1997 version in a while and I forgot just how bad it looked.
I was going to put how the 97 version has been canon longer than the 77 version was, to make a "Damn I'm old" joke.. but then I remembered the 2011 and 2019 edits technically overwrite that so the 77 version is still technically the longest standing canon. 77-97 (20 yrs), 97-2011(14 years), 2011-2019 (8 years), 2019-present..
Did you know that someone is making a fan edit of the Kenobi series as one film? And they're, like, hiring actors to dress as stormtroopers to shoot new scenes in front of green screen?
My own attempt at mangling Ep1 basically involved cutting out the Gungan and making Jar Jar a silent Chewbacca like character.
*edit for justification*
Basic beats were that is starts with the invasion of Naboo, communications shutting off and no one knows what's happening, meanwhile the jedi show up silently via a watercraft to rescue the princess now that negotiations have deteriorated. From there you get the dramatic escape, tattoonine plays out mostly verbatem, cutting most of the anakin and jar jar lines. I think the anakin performance works pretty well as a largely brooding very curious but silent child, the kid knew how to act, Lucas just doesn't know how to direct children...
In the back half you get the secret rendezvous with the gungans to team up with them to take back the capital. It makes it seem more like they were forced to retreat with the invasion instead of being some second class native life on the planet and the end plays out about the same.
If I could get separate video and sound files I could go back and refinish it so the music and everything sill works.

I've been on a coaster with manual brakes but a different setup, the brake is a lever at the loading platform that stops the train at the end of its run and then releases the train for its next run.

This website is adblock hell but inlining everything is too much work: a woman on TikTok accused Andrew Callaghan of raping her and others have anonymously accused him. As far as I know the anonymous postings haven't been subject to any kind of journalistic scrutiny but...yeah

My local park has a few of these. I guess it just comes with rides that are 100+ years old.
The Blue Flyer / Little Dipper / Zipper Dipper (depending on your era) has one directly on the station platform. You can see the guy operating them at the end of this POV video and see the result of it going down right at the start:
I grew up with these rides and it was a big shock when they put in the Big One and you just had to trust that the ride would be able to stop itself without someone manually initiating the process.
The one about the fucking space hairdresser and the cowboy. He's got a tinfoil pal and a pedal bin

I'm going to go ahead an be the asshole with tinfoil on but the guy has spent the last month bull in a china shopping his way through the main stream media and maybe some powerful people want him to go away?
Yes I'm implying these anonymous sources are in fact Terry Gross.
Sadly, there's rarely any need to fake these kind of things. Andrew Cuomo (ex gov of New York) really did have a history of harassing women. But while he was the golden child and everyone loved him it wasn't talked about. He then pisses off the wrong person? His (real) history of harassing women becomes a talking point.

Not sure what's "anonymous" about women showing their faces in videos where they directly accuse him of these things, and honestly I'm going to go ahead and guess "powerful people" don't really give much of a shit if he goes and has an awkward NPR interview.
It's not just two women, either. We don't have to ride hard for people because they ostensibly share the same politics we do.
It warms my heart that he could ditch Twitch, switch his streaming to a random-ass video platform that doesn't even offer a free tier and still got 2500 subscribers to come over.

I have their 5.1 set sitting in a box. Need to check (and likely replace) the cables, though.

kinda looks like someone's reaching out with a opossum puppet at first
So I found that video as a response to this more interesting look at fan edits in general
Which led me down a rabbit hole on r/fanedits

Also in that same park the Big Dipper has the same system but it's hidden away in the little box on the right at 3:45
At the end of the Grand National they put the levers inside the building in the middle of the tracks at 2:26:
