The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These - Season 4
(remake)

The Free Planets Alliance, a representative democracy led by a corrupt High Council, degenerates as its elected leaders use war and conflict as a way to win popular support.
But this long-standing stalemate between the Empire and the Alliance ends with the rise of two opposing military geniuses. Reinhard von Lohengramm, a minor noble and High Admiral of the Empire through his strategic brilliance and his sister's position as the favored concubine of the Kaiser, dreams of conquering the galaxy and uniting mankind under his iron fist. Meanwhile, Yang Wen-li of the Alliance, an avid historian and reluctant commodore hailed as the Hero of El Facil, uses his tactical prowess to navigate around his leaders' incompetence—and to carve the path to lasting peace. As the war rages on, Reinhard and Yang each strive for their ideals and to secure their place among the stars as the leaders of a new era of galactic heroes.

Ah, nice, I didn't see that.
Also added Cyberpunk and Uzumaki, which might be coming out next month!
so Muv-Luv was a basic-ass (probably pornographic? not sure) early 00s visual novel that had one big gimmick: after you finished the story, you unlock a second route, where the main character from the first route wakes up in an alternate universe with alternate versions of all the characters from the first route, where the earth has been invaded by aliens and are fought with giant robots, shifting the tone of the story dramatically from a vanilla rom-com VN to a dramatic sci-fi war story.
The theme of tonight seemed to be rich girls who are so bored they decide to commit crimes.
I actually have started confusing them in my head now, there's too many that are too similar.
Someone help me
Congrats to Reigen

good for her!
Reincarnated as a minor NPC but is unknowingly the demon lord.
Reincarnated as a god sword used by a slave cat girl.
Reincarnated into a dating sim as the villainess and have to seduce the last boss.
Grinded farming until all stats were maxed, is now a demigod.
Beast tamer is kicked out of the party and then tames beast girls demigods.
Something titled "Guild of Depravity" about animal girls being serially molested that I may have overlooked when deciding what appeared to be the worst.
Totally copyright friendly Atelier Rorona.
Literally Legend of Mana.
I think that's all the flat out "in an RPG world" shows for next season. Only three involving reincarnation! That's less than usual!
this is approximately 8 too many
Guy is summoned to another world with several other people who all have amazing combat classes and powers but he has nothing, so he gets some money from the king as consolation and leaves as the others get called heroes. Only the guy does have a power: he can access Totally Not Amazon online shopping. Amazing. He still didn't reveal this to the king because he got bad vibes from the guy's speech about fighting invaders and decided to beat feet out of the country.
And that's it. That's the extent of his power. When he gets "stronger" he unlocks more shops and the most dangerous he gets would be killing someone's diet with a specialty cake.
Well technically you're never done with it
Dub only apparently
Anyway, Iruma-kun's back this season; low effort fun. Not surprised to see that BHA has been missed, since it seems like opinion of it has been steadily trending downwards.
MHA is fine the anime is just in a weird spot where they didn't adapt an arc or something iirc
They changed the order of some arcs, mostly because of the movie they did at the same time and it just ended up really weird/hurt the pacing

Just sort of lost interest as it kept going into the final arc here
Ginka and Gluna looks Gorgeous and has an interesting premise. What if Micheal Keaton from that Snowman movie was wizard Jedi and also a digimon for his apprentice?
It's definitely hit the shonen messy end point, and resultingly losing the thematic and more slice of life content that I think made MHA tick so well. Arguably also it's pacing is just too fast, the class isn't even second years? I've lost track
Tokyo Demon Bride is incredibly generic, and while I like what Ginka and Gluna is doing that first chapter was all over the place

Looking at this list, I'm only familiar with less than half of this.
First one, I guess that could be interesting, not ringing a bell, but that has potential for good comedy. Then again, given the track record for most of this stuff, could be horrible shit, where the MC does horrible shit because reasons.
I'm actually reading the second one, at least I think I'm reading, but might be another series out there with a very similar premise. If it's the one I think it is, a minor point of correction, the cat girl ceases to be a slave almost as quickly as she is introduced. It's an interesting story, but I wouldn't say it's above average. Cat girl decides she wants to be adventurer and MC ends up being the weapon she uses. MC also has some weak points. Thus far, it hasn't gone the terrible route that most isekai hit. A notable point, which is damning a fair chunk of the anime industry, is that this one doesn't seem to try to apologize for slavery, but then again, then again I think it's really only shown up at the start of the series to explain the cat girls background. This might be worth giving a shot, but I could see this easily being adapted into absolute trash.
Third one, I have no idea. I might have read this one, but the premise is something I think multiple stories have done. If it's the one I read, it doesn't go into pervert territory and the MC isn't that powerful. The last boss though, he is OP. It wasn't bad. IIRC the last boss is essentially the ostracized prince that has rule over the demons that literally live right next door to the kingdom. If it is based on what I read, it's probably worth giving a shot.
Fifth one, is disappointing. Nearly didn't bother with the manga. Like the premise of being able to make contracts with powerful individuals and gain benefits from that isn't terrible. It's just that this becomes your typical bland ass harem where the MC is OP, but no one really realized it, while all the girls inexplicable see him as a romance partner. I guess I'll give it some points for not being another reincarnation isekai for not also trying to pretend slavery has anything redeeming. I'm going to dock it more points for I want to say the second villain because it's the typical horrible noble, does really gross shit to women plot. I'd say skip this.
I've got no comments on the other four because they really aren't ringing a bell for me. Well, I'd say that the sixth one on that list can fuck right off because that sounds like fucking awful trash that should have been shit canned.
I will say I get disappointed that most of the "I'm pegged as the weakest class, but I'm secretly OP!" things, miss the more interesting and relatable plot idea of "What I do for the party/society, isn't super flashy, but is extremely helpful or vital." I'm sure we've all dealt with the asshole in a super visible position within school, work or society that completely looks down upon people that are doing background shit and failing to get that their position is absolutely reliant on that mundane stuff getting done. It's a damn shame because a good author could tell a really good story about that where someone gets booted because their party or leaders are too fucking arrogant to grasp how vital that role is and do it without it being an isekai or the MC being OP.
The Hero Got a Magic Sword So They Fired Me, The Smith.
Honestly, I'd read it

This seems to have been the intent of Goblin Slayer, but it was written extremely incompetently so that the Goblins were an extremely powerful, growing threat right from the beginning. The idea of "the underappreciated warrior who takes on the supposedly weak prey (that hurts the weak)," goes out the window when everyone in the setting seems to have been personally savaged by the Goblins, they're taking over entire cities, killing leadership and heroic figures, etc. (And this complaint is besides the author's uh... gross fetish preferences).

Like they could have picked a level where the goblin could still fuck up anyone that got careless, but not having them taking out cities, not unless you had a very rare situation where their numbers were allowed to get high enough, that they posed an actual threat to cities. Then the dirt cheap price for killing them would make sense, they're still a threat that could kill any adventure but the pay and fame from killing them wouldn't justify the risk. At the same time the need to population control, would ensure that the people in charge would conduct like a routine mandated extermination quest. Where all the adventurers are told to suck it the fuck up because they don't want the goblin numbers to get too high.
Then of course, there is all the gross shit that completely kills it.
All spoilers here are just official promos.
The promos for the sword reincarnation thing don't look half bad either.
The Depravity Guild promo has at least one shot that would get you banned here. When I looked at the wikipedia page, I got to I think the third paragraph before it was talking about how monsters need to molest girls for mana, and then the next paragraph was entirely about its censorship. So... yeah.
Not Atelier Rorona is just literally an Atelier game that's not Atelier. It just looks... like generic Atelier.
I assume that the high profile stuff (Spy Family, Mob, Chainsaw Man, Gundam) will suck up most of the air regardless. Megaton Musashi's second season is definitely going to be the most batshit insane show if it's anything like the first season, though that's not an endorsement of it. There's also a couple really bizarre looking originals. Akiba Maid War is some PA Works thing about animal-themed maids uh... doing something, with the protagonists representing the pig-maid faction, but at least one of them has a gun.
And then there's Shinobi Moment, apparently about a dude who is told he's the secret ninja heir and has to go to ninja high school. One promo is all about how this is totally a fanservice harem gag comedy. The other is about how it's low budget Metal Gear Solid Revengeance with cyber ninjas and no levity whatsoever.

Yeah, seeing some of what is being released this season. It's going to be a rough season for anything that is low profile because Gundam, Spy Family, Mob and Chainsaw Man. I'd hate to be any low profile franchise or brand spanking new franchise that is trying to get some headway into the anime market as a series attempt and not a cash grab or promo of the source material because those four franchises are probably going to suck down most of the attention and time that many viewers have. If you don't get much notice during your premier season and don't do well enough to get a sequel during a more friendly season, you're running how high risk of being passed over forever and that is going to suck if you're actually good.
Hell, I'd say new seasons for Iruma and Legend of the Galactic Heroes are going to further complicate things for such franchises. Sure they aren't the heavy hitters like the first four, but they are established franchises that are actually good. So they are going to keep the attention of people that are already watching them and that gives them a chance to pick up any free eyeballs to be had because if anyone find times for something else because either one or more of the four big ones don't end up appealing to them or ends up flopping and people general ask for recommendations. Both those series already have a few seasons, so any new viewers they get are going to have plenty of time filled in by them.
Fake edit: Also who am I kidding, Bleach is going to be another big hitter this season. It fell off for me when Ichigo became a Sue Mary, but I know that series still has a huge following. Also there are probably some other established franchises that I haven't spotted yet. So yeah, this season is going to probably suck for a number of franchises because they are competing with a number of well known and popular franchises and some of those are pretty damn big hitters. Don't know if Bleach will be up there in the top four, but I'd wager it's going to get mire eyes than either Iruma or LotGH.
