Yyyeaaah. I get the idea of earning your keep in a new frontier but the villagers are giant assholes to you from minute one and the onus is on you to earn the right for them to not be assholes to you. Suffice to say I still resent that cast.
Then you give them alphas to help around the town and it all evens out.
One of these villagers wants to look at a graceful poke with a curly tail, so he's getting this alpha Purugly when I get back.

Stuff leaks a lot more than you think it just usually leaks to friends/family members of developers who value their friendship more than internet points. It appears whoever did this attempted to straddle the line.
Its interesting to me that they chose the Gen IV region for all this.
Would have went with Kanto (would feel approriate going back to the start here while going back in time) and samurai top knot Professor Oak myself.
I suspect they were just on the "gen 4 remake" bandwagon at the time. Legends Arceus is kind of the real gen 4 remake and then they outsourced the actual one to the company that made Pokemon Home :P
Also I mean, if you're gonna do a story like this, might as well center it around actual God. Deus ex machimon.

I would legit not be surprised if that person was someone who worked on the actual Direct video in some capacity (or a friend of someone who worked on it). I feel like the social team is one of the more ripe avenues for leaks. Less stake in the project

Hardcore is last drinks? as I loved playing with the Koopa troopa in Mario Cart
As we played last drinks [while on tour doing VBSS it was last buys drinks {Fist fights were uncommon but happened a lot}
1) I didn't like the "A Yankee in King Arthur's Court" story angle. So right from literally the first minute of the game I already did not approve of the story. A kid out of time teaching the ancients how to work and live with Pokemon was not the right story to tell in an ancient-times setting. Just give me a main character who is from that time period and figures out how to work and live with Pokemon on their own. What I want is a more organic story, not one with a weird "kid from the future" contrivance. They over complicated something that could have been very simple.
2) I didn't like the basic gameplay loop. The game was exceptionally grindy, having to capture tons of the same Pokemon. The quests were grindy. Combat was grindy. Everything was exceedingly grindy. It sapped the fun right out of the game for me. I didn't make it out of the first big area because after the Nth Pokemon that I caught of the same type, I was pretty bored.

That's funny, given that the game revolves around
the Pokemon Gods all fighting and tearing spacetime apart, having Arceus essentially kidnap someone from the future to sort out the mess they caused was kind of a fantastic story and better than anything else we've gotten from Pokemon before.
I quite loved the story.
Spoiler'd it since you haven't gotten that far in case you ever decide to give it another go.
Got to say, battles really suffer in Pokemon Legends from the lack of any cinematic camera focus.
I don't know.
There's something to be said about:
- running up to your opponent and annoying them,
- running away from the battle by physically running away,
- placing orders from on top of a rock and
- destroying a spawned Pokemon in battle before they've been able to edge backwards and get their personal space back.

I LOVE SUIKODEN! My favorite PS1 RPG, just ahead of the Lunar games. I still have the music on my playlists.

Will literally take any re-releases they will give us. I still want Castlevania DS collection and SOTN & Harmony of Despair on Steam. MGS 1-4 remasters or collection on Steam.
