Alright, got all the shrines, really happy with the reward you get
I like that the botw version of the classic Link outfit has short shorts. And, because I'm me, I have to upgrade it to the max before I venture into the castle proper. Dragon part farming is annoying, but what can you do!

You'll also want to grab an external hard drive and cable that has 2 USB-A connectors (1 for data, 1 for power) for your Wii U. So you can do what Nintendont.
The theory behind how animal crossing works is sound. It's a collaborative game where everyone shares one island. So I may play for an hour, pick fruits, go fishing, etc, then someone else goes and does the same later in the day on the same island.
I actually like the concept of people sharing an island, like you share a living space, I think that's the best way to play the game. But I do agree that there should have been an option to separate things.
What I would want is the ability to have an 'island code' kind of like a friend code that you can share with your friends to all share an island together, but not needing to share the same switch and to be able to play at the same time.
Essentially, Nintendo is too damn cheap to use the new sticks that don't wear out.
You mean the sticks that didn't exist in the JoyCon form factor until last year, I believe?
They new this was they way to do the sticks when they made the Switch. They cut corners.
They could've designed their own, instead they did what most companies do and bought common off the shelf components which helps control costs. At small volumes what the hall effect sticks cost is at least five what the existing solution is.
Maybe Switch 2: Electric Boogaloo will be using optical sticks.

I feel like 6 years on and sales are only now declining isn't really something to be upset about. I mean who exists at this point who wants a Switch but doesn't have one (or several)?
I only got my Switch last year. So yes, I’ve got one *now*, but late adopters like me are still out there!
I got an old N64 joystick that I need to put an optical stick in.

the original joysticks afair are easy to replace, no soldering, just a connector hookup. Are there sweet, modern, reliable joystick replacements for it now?
e: not that I have a tv that I could hook my n64 up to. But I think there are adapters for the controllers?

I don't necessarily blame them for the initial failure. They're making obscenely small yet complicated controllers. They used an analog module that would fit in the case. It probably passed basic stress testing. It's only later on with extensive use that the flaw finally presented itself.
What I do blame them for is not doing anything about it since. Now you know how and why they fail. So change the design. At the very least later joycons should have had an updated design. But they never did, and that sucks.

Sorry for the depayed response but yeah, it is where I purchased the Wii U controller itself from. Ordered it this last Saturday and got it today so fast turnaround time as well. With the console, biggest thing I saw was to check and make sure it is functional as several were being sold for parts.
Here are some tips to get an original N64 controller to work with Retroarch.
The A button is the B button. The B button in the Y button. The C buttons are the right analog stick.
Also,
Input Button Axis Threshold - 0.000
Analog Deadzone - 0.1 (0.0 works for me too, but a little too touchy and causes drifting in my case)
Analog Sensitivity - 2.0+ (Less than 2.0 causes the stick to act like it isn't moved all the way over even when it is, less than 0.2 seems to disable the stick all together)

Kinda sucks when the person who was first on the island and made the chief muckity-muck moves on, and now everyone else is left unable to do certain things on the island without either dragging them back in or hijacking their account/file.

Yeah. They got optical ones you can swap in.
Oh man! Are there preferable manufacturers?
e: sorry, missed your other post
e2: okay found some reddit posts talking about the two sticks I found online, seems so-so, but probably still better than the original ones
In more fun news, I managed to reserve a copy (I *think*) of the Zeldas. Needs one more e-mail confirmation that it's ready for pickup on Friday, but I *should* be good in case I don't get one just walking in
Also I don't want to fight a pack of frothing nerds, lest I become one
With the N64 controller there was a huge amount of a white power build up in the base of the stick . I was playing Mario Cart and goldeneye a lot then
I got a canabalized controller to fix it and it was a vast improvement

Thanks to a sale, I played Pac-Man Vs. for the first time while waiting for that thing we aren't talking about in this thread.
Pac-Man Vs. is weird. Pac-Man and ghosts alike are fumbling through a tiny view of the much bigger maze, and every time something happens, Mario says something, but his volume is just a hair too low and you can only understand every other word he says.
I'm glad Namco let Miyamoto experiment and the asymmetric gameplay is ahead of its time, but I'd say Pac-Man Battle Royale is a much, much better take on multiplayer competitive Pac-Man.

Got this in the mail today. Really good condition too!
My brother! Did the exact same thing in 2017.
What's your dealer charge for that copium you're huffing?

Right?! There are rules!
Uh

you...just reminded me that I bought a used WiiU to, uhm, tinker with, and that I moved it into a closet during cleaning and...
shit

Can fully endorse these kits. Really easy to swap out, even with my big dumb hands, and the sticks work wonderfully.

I remember it being obnoxiously difficult.

I ordered a couple pairs of the replacement sticks as backup.

Oh no Time Lord is fucking awesome aesthetically but gameplay wise it's a sadistically difficult Fuck You to anyone who plays it.

I guess the rumble on the N64 controller works. I have not tried it out. I will have to charge the batteries.
I had one of those third party ones that rumbled and saved games. It was pretty cool.
Here is a link for an optical N64 stick.

You're right. I haven't bought a Wii U yet. That would probably do it.

I didn't even know controllers could be racist.
