my apologies if this is in the wrong thread, i'm not aware of another "general games" thread, but does anyone know of a one stop solution to all these goddamned launchers that plague PC gaming?
specifically, i'm looking for something that will remember credentials and log into whatever launcher that whatever game seems to need.
i have playnite which seems to aggregate my various libraries, but it wont log into, say, origin to launch whatever garbage EA thing i want to try and then uninstall.
thanks in advance to anyone who can point me towards a solution to my stupid first world problem.

GoG Galaxy did a pretty good job of it, if I remember correctly. Still gotta have the other launchers installed, but you can run everything from them out of GoG Galaxy (or rather, you use GoG Galaxy to launch them with their host clients). EGS, Steam, Origin, Uplay, Xbox app, probably others.
Edit: Tho I guess GoG Galaxy basically just does what Playnite does, so idk if you're gonna get anything closer to what you want.
For $250, I'll have a database that contains a link to your post on Imgur, your name, a text file that records transactions, and the lowest cost server in Estonia that can run a database and Python script.
I think that the internet has been for years on the path to creating what is essentially an electronic Necronomicon: A collection of blasphemous unrealities so perverse that to even glimpse at its contents, if but for a moment, is to irrevocably forfeit a portion of your sanity.

Retro Gadget from NextFest seems neat, but 30 min Youtube videos of the dev awkwardly narrating his play is not the best "tutorial" I've come across https://youtu.be/2l8h04BnLKU
The block chain isn't public but I'll make you a wallet and add the token for your post. Once the gofundme hits the price of the 512 gig Steam Deck I'll release the wallet interface and start work on the opensea bridge and totally not rugpull on you guys.

Damn, I have everything but Neverwinter Nights (I have the cds, would be nice on steam), Pathfinder: Wrath and the original Baldur's Gate, which I've come around from never wanting to play it again to deciding to suffer through it one more time to take a character from absolute nothing to the end of BG2's expansion (which I never finished despite trying three times).
(PSN: Morninglord) (Steam: Morninglord) (WiiU: Morninglord22) I like to record and toss up a lot of random gaming videos here.

Another cool thing I know is in that Deck update.
People had found a way to customize the opening animation when you turn the Deck on. Its just a video, so they started creating their own custom startup videos and had a way to play them on the deck itself.
So Valve just implemented this into the OS and made it way easier.
I just think is is a very, very cool thing.

Can files still be changed around, i.e. the replacement I did for Disgaea 2's OP to have subtitles?
(Was as simple as swapping a video file in the game folder.)

Yes, but doing stuff like file operations is more of a pain in the ass if you don't have a dock or hub for a mouse and keyboard.
AAA update. There's less than a month left before retirement, and we're out of flashpoints. Only one thing of note has happened.
During a particularly brutal Target Acquisition mission, @Elvenshae almost bought the farm when a demolisher spawned and landed a headshot on Elvenshae's Marauder. Luckily, he didn't get any other hits to the cockpit, but the rest of the mission was quite tense.
I think I must be old enough that my eyes are getting terrible because I play these games on my Deck that are supposed to be "ugly" and they look great to me. I think Monster Hunter Rise came up in the last thread.
Bought it on sale, played it on my Deck. Looks great.
So I guess my oldmaness is now a blessing?
Rise doesn't look bad per se, just not as detailed as World did. This is mostly in the environment with things like grass textures. There is a more defined art style though which goes a long way to making me not care though. Plus it's easy to not focus on the level of detail when there's an angry Diablos taking up 2/3 of the screen.
I blame all of you for my starting a Skyrim SE playthrough. I don't know how it's your fault, but I'm sure it is.
It's probably me and my starting a Skyrim SE playthrough after finishing Oblivion after deciding to put down Morrowwind after dropping Daggerfall. Well, restarting one because I got bored of my first character.
Played quite a bit of Immortal. At first I thought wtf is this supposed to be, this is banal. But it slowly unravels, and while I am pretty sure I know where it's going/what's up, the way it is presented is unlike anything I've seen before.
I don't like Sam Barlowe as a dude, but he makes some pretty interesting, great games
It's ImmortalITY and if you just played a bit you have no idea where it is going. Probably. Or you do.
Curious to hear what you've thought about what's what so far. I don't think 4 hours is enough, but maybe you got the right bits to do it.
Well from what I gather
it's some sort of Faustian tale, basically. There is literally a video with the lady entity that "possessed" Marcella and the guy entity that possessed whatshername, Amy, arguing about movies/human art being worthwile or worthless, so that strongly reminds me of the betting between Mephisto and God (I think? It's been a while). Marcella is basically just a plaything I assume
There could be more to it, but that's what I think is up. If there isn't, that's fine, because I love the *how* of it all a lot
I'll continue this weekend and see

I'm also on my first playthrough of Mass Effect 3. There's been a few places where I've died over and over.
Escaping Grissom Academy in particular, was brutal. We had hostiles dropping in all around, and I kept dying trying to get to the shuttles.
Still, the game is pretty awesome so far.
I think I remember having a few issues there too on my first playthrough. The number and difficulty of enemies seemed to really ramp up there or maybe I got to it earlier in the game than I was supposed to.
As established in my last ME3 post, I'm not exactly what you'd call a pro-gamer. That said, with experience with the game systems, normal difficulty has been a bit of a joke. Every possible improvement into harder hitting powers and faster recharge makes guns a bit of an afterthought most of the time. I had the odd death or two early in the game, but prior to my repeated slaughter on the ledge, 95% of the times I died were planet scanning in the Normandy and getting dogpiled by Reapers.
One of the things I've really noticed this playthrough was all the conversations by NPCs that each tell a small story in several parts that Shepard overhears when walking by. One doesn't interact with the characters at all, but stopping to listen reveals stories bit by bit each time a location is reentered. It's not a big part of the game by any means, but it's such wonderful world building to hear about the lives of people affected by, but not involved in the main plot. It's a really nice touch that makes the world feel more real and lived in that most games.

Speaking of Deck boot videos, there's a cottage industry of tv show openings modified to say steam deck on the subreddit. My friend's deck shows the outside of Jerry's apartment and does the Seinfeld bass sting when booting up.

Unless your wife ordered it for herself, knows it's coming, and you're going to hide it from her anyway. Then that's not cool.
