So Jeopardy tournament of champions is going on right now, and is great because there's a ton of great players this year.
But they didn't record all the quarterfinals in a single day, so there was one left and they wanted to have a "warm up" game before their recording, do they're having an exhibition match.
Between the three super champions who got a first round bye in the tournament:
Mattea Roach - 23 game streak (5th longest)
Matthew Amodio - 38 game streak (3rd longest)
Amy Schneider - 40 game streak (2nd longest)
I am so excited for Jeopardy tonight and while that's in my personal list of "10 things I've said most likely to result in bullying" I'm almost 40 and I feel like I've earned it.
Also I want to like Dave Foley, I do, but between his work in Postal and his pretty tone deaf defense of other comedians he's on my "just say less and fade away so I can preserve at least some good memories" list, but maybe he'll be good in Fargo because I hear it's a good show so what do I know.
Edit: yes I have a lot of internal lists, it's a way I've been poisoned by the internet, and if you'd like to know what else is on my "top 10 ways my brain has been poisoned by the internet" list please hammer that like button and sub for future updates...

I finished the bear and that was a roller coaster of quality. The first three episodes were fire then there were a whole bunch of middling episodes then the next few episodes after the review were great again and then the last episode was just a big ol wet fart.
So Micheal was in massive debt but hid it all in tomato tins? To what end? I guess it’s something they can address in the next season but it feels like they just ended the season with, have some money! And that’s it.

Yeah that was super weird because most of it probably came from that loan he took out from the organized crime guy. And it's not like that loan went away when he died.

The Bear spoilers.
My theory has become, both the brother and the main character are kinda stupid. The brother thought the loan WOULD disappear when he died. The main character knows the loan didn't disappear but is gonna try and use this money as seed money to make a really successful restaurant that can make enough money to pay off the loan and then some.

I'm very very late to the party, but is it possible Shoresy is better than Letterkenny?
Shoresy is a serialized version of a sports movie and it’s incredibly good at being that. It’s honestly hard to compare it directly to Letterkenny because it’s so different.
It’s definitely tighter and better paced, with a stronger character arc, and the lighting and camera work are all a step up, but that’s kind of by design since Letterkenny is the laid back, barely connected weird comedy you can throw on any random 5 minute segment of and have a good time with.
Everything looks beautiful when you're young and pretty
Honestly though, it's really worth watching the episode. The whole thing is incredibly relaxed, surprisingly funny, and full of some very smart people just fucking around.
e: In case anyone watches, Matt's first response was in part because his run was during the guest host rotation and he never got Ken as his host and he had always wanted that.
I legit like the energy on that episode a whole lot, is the thing, it being an exhibition gives it a low-stakes vibe that is admittedly very fun to watch
It was also fun for me to formulate a theory that Amy was quietly fuming because Mattea was consistently beating her to the buzzer and I hope we get to see that play out in a game with real stakes so I can see if I was right or if she was just having a quiet game.
Also I was very glad to see the older gentleman who looks too much like Steve Martin do really well in his game and make it through to the next round, I liked him in his first run.

further on this, i am now realizing that "game show where nothing is really on the line" (Um, Actually; Game Changer; this episode of Jeopardy; Whose Line; Taskmaster) is actually my favorite genre of game show

Certain things, you just can't get people to do for money. Put $10k at the end of every Taskmaster task for the winner, and most contestants would balk at half the zany shit they pull ("This ain't worth the money"). But offer five points, and suddenly throwing a javelin through the side of a caravan and potentially killing the creator of the show is on the table.

I think it has an energy about it that can only come from a new project. I adore Letterkenny but I feel like they are holding back the plot to extend things since it has been found by so many relatively late in its run. By comparison Shoresy feel kinetic, things happen fast because it is new and there is no weight of expectations. Both are still some of the funniest tv for me, but Letterkenny has really treaded water on some big plot points going back to before Covid.

Jeopardy's just the best, one of my favorite champions (the old man who looks a lot like Steve Martin) just upset Matt Amodio (a very capable but annoying to watch) mega-champion in the tournament of champions, what a great show.

Satans..... hints.....
I think it’s different. I definitely cannot say it’s better though.

Shoresy constantly interrupting people with, 'Huh?'
I wonder what the Star Wars equivalent of a molotov cocktail would be.
But, like, a janky one made from old droid parts.
A combination of death sticks and blue milk, mixed into that ice cream machine from Cloud City in ESB.
Coran Attack!
Demi Adejuyigbe is very funny, and the show's created by Shea Serrano, who's also very funny
We also found it amusing that the ensemble includes the ill-fated Mr. Pamuk from Downton Abbey and Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite.
Ken Jennings got bleeped for cussing on national tv
Like “monkeyboner”
Because there was such a high chance of election pre-empting, whole episode is on youtube.
Happens at about 9:30.

to see that play out in a similar fashion was pretty great

It's basically a live action Australian Beavis and Butt-Head
Anyway, y'all should check it out, but be aware it is very dumb

love this show, glad to see that Hulu is still on the old "renew good shows" business model
