I remember the first time my wife and I watched The Wire, there's a scene in season 2 or 3 where Reddick is taking a late night phone call and happens to be shirtless, and both my wife and I were like "Jesus Christ!"
you wouldn't know it because he's always wearing a suit but the man's torso could cut glass

It’s like the first time Chidi took his shirt off on The Good Place and a million people collectively swooned

Today I got to Colin Sweeney's third appearance in The Good Wife, where he is presented in his newest mode: what if Hannibal Lecter was a pathetic little goblin freako?

That bit where she talks about the statue of David and concludes that it doesn’t have an anus “because Michelangelo ran out of time or maybe the model didn’t have an anus” just ruins me every time I see it.

I can't draft up a top five list of Columbo episodes, as I haven't seen all of them yet.
But "Suitable for Framing" is the front-runner for being in that top five, as Ross Martin plays such an incredible asshole in the episode.
S2E6 - "A Stitch in Time" with Leonard Nimoy
S2E8 - "Double Shock" with Martin Landau
S3E7 - "Swan Song" with Johnny Cash
S6E1 - "Fade Into Murder" with William Shatner
S7E2 - "Murder Under Glass" with Louis Jordan

He was the murder four different times and each one slapped.
In one he was just Number 6 from The Prisoner. He even does the “be seeing you,” several times.
It has an uncanny ability to plow past things that other shows would have dragged out for an entire season, leading to what's effectively a season of season finales.
And it also managed to stick the landing which felt fucking impossible in the lead-up.
The Good Place is quite good but the ending still sucks out loud
I initially hated the ending but have turned around on it.
Given everything that happened beforehand it felt kind of weird for the characters to just give up on making eternity something people would want to experience, but I can see how the creators of the show would rather make the final episode of their show about dead people be about death than about them fixing the Good Place.
Started my Colombo watch based on the Rex list youse gave me. First impression is that it’s very engaging. Unfortunately, I watched the guest actor walk under a suspended load in a flagrant disregard for OHS regulation. I’m not sure I can in good faith continue!!!
I am tragically forced to bump Charlie Cale down exactly one point from a 0 to a -1 on the Cop scale for association with a member of the FBI. She can still redeem that point hy the end of the season.

Bummer. I had just gotten into and binged both seasons lasts month.

In isolation, episode 4 was a little weak (especially compared to how amazing Episode 3 was).
When you look at 4 and 5 together, I think they're very strong and tell a full story. 4 felt a lot like setup but the payoff was spectacular.

It's a remarkably good sitcom
It has an uncanny ability to plow past things that other shows would have dragged out for an entire season, leading to what's effectively a season of season finales.
