too bad r-rated horror films with unhappy endings are financially successful otherwise universal and legendary would look like the biggest sacks of shit ever!
now I'll just sip this coffee while I look at prometheus' box office earnings
I saw Black Panther! Martin Freeman felt more shoehorned into this one than ever, and I can't believe the MCU has conditioned me to dread seeing Julia Louis-Dreyfuss

Like, I've heard whatever beast gallumphing around before and suspect it's a possum, but fucking goblin mode timing. ... Guess it could be a small raccoon.

I have seen the new Black Panther movie. The most important thing is that the Alamo drafthouse had the same Ethiopian seasoned popcorn as they did in 2018 and it is still fucking incredible, holy shit.
Also fyi for people. There is no post credit scene. Just the mid credit scene.
Downloaded the app that no one here ever talks about, Tubi, and came up with a theory. Maybe the lack of commercials is for the version on the FireTV/Amazon eco-system? Like Amazon signed a check so that Prime users don't get ads compared to everyone else that downloads it.

Tubi being ad supported is fine with me. It’s usually just a few short ads and it gives me a break to pee or whatever
Today in 'films I've somehow never seen in 37 years' is The Crow.
It's making really nostalgic for 90's era VFX
I have a sincere love for The Crow, helped largely I'm sure by me seeing at the perfect time and it really speaking to the romantic goth in 16 year old me. That aside I think it's a damn fine movie helped out by a good ensemble cast.

It feels weird to watch, knowing what happened to Lee. And also because of the makeup. I keep thinking of KISS.
Disney+ supposedly lost $1.5 billion last quarter, how
How the fuck does Disney lose any money?
You produce several wildly expensive shows for their streaming platforms that probably has slowed down in terms of drawing in new subscribers??
Yeah but it still takes a second mortgage to go to one of their themeparks. HOW ARE THEY NOT PRINTING MONEY!?
How many folks do you think are do that in our current economic season? Especially after they basically lost two years of usual revenue from their parks because of the lockdown period of the pandemic?
Marty: The future, it's where you're going? Doc: That's right, twenty five years into the future. I've always dreamed on seeing the future, looking beyond my years, seeing the progress of mankind. I'll also be able to see who wins the next twenty-five world series.

But they've got to be looking at an upcoming tsunami of revenue from their Avatar park with the sequel coming out, right?
Disney not making a profit seems so unlikely it has to be a scheme. Like is it better to not have a profit for tax purposes or some shit?
It is better to lie about not having profits (while definitely actually having them), yes. This is more likely them having overspent on things and not having the usual "several movies cracking $1 billion at theaters" to offset.

world and land are essentially constantly operating at capacity, and they also own functionally all the land and resources within a 10 mile radius of both parks too, which area also all frequently at capacity

Disney has lost a LOT of money investing in Disney+

Even if it's been a few years, let me assure you it still bangs.
Everything can be a porno if you try hard enough.
Good movie! I liked how humorous it was at times without being goofy.
Oh they tried. That movie was edited down from NC-17.
