This is devastating, I had no idea he was ill. My go to response in these scenarios is appreciating the impact the person's work had and will continue to have, so thanks for the clips, everyone.
He wrote a very good comic for DC's Pride special this year about his journey with finding the iconic Batman voice - I highly recommend tracking that down if you've not read it
Found it. Content warning for the f-slur, but y'know, highly, highly recommended:
I remember when Batman TAS first came out. We were all crammed into a dorm room, watching that first episode. A whole group of nerdy, geeky types, all watching with a critical eye, as such types are wont to do. When it ended, I remember my friend Chris just stepping back and saying, "Yeah. That was the best Batman I've ever seen or dreamed of." We watched every episode in this fashion until the end of the semester. It was like our soap opera, and he was our Susan Lucci. No other Batman will suffice.

The only problem I have with the Arkham series is that it gives me a slight existential crisis.
Arkham Asylum is great because of Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamil and all the Bruce Timm sensibilities laid over the structure of Super Metroid.
Arkham City is great because the same talent was stretched over the frame of A Link To The Past.
Origins was like a fun if unpolished expansion pack to City.
Arkham Knight still looks great but it's mostly...the same thing?
...and like...is that all there is? Did videogames actually stop on the Super Nintendo and we've just been making bigger better versions of these all time bangers ever since?

Is there a place to watch Batman: TAS these days? I kept passing on getting the DVD/blu-ray sets. I assume, being WB, that it's HBO max... but.. I don't want to make assumptions.
God I'd love to see what a 4K high def transfer of B:TAS would look like on an OLED TV.

It was on Amazon Prime video last I checked, but I think some episodes are missing or in the wrong order or something? There was something weird about it.

If you want to buy it digitally (which considering how shitty the streaming service era is, I recommend either that or physically over it anyday any hour) it's around the same cost on Amazon and Vudu as if you got the DVD/Blu-Rays, so hold off until the Black Friday sales and you should be able to find it for cheaper on at least one of those. The physical media/DVD and BluRay sets also have the complete series of The New Batman Adventures (HBO Max doesn't have this at all) included IIRC; the BluRay set also has Mask of the Phantasm

The New Batman Adventures are on HBO Max, they're just folded into the BTAS listing? I watched the one where Nightwing explains to Tim why him and Batman are at odds last night as I've been picking my way through them with all this misery news and it definitely had the revised art style, etc.
I posted more in-depth over in D&D, my more regular haunt, but suffice to say we lost the best Batman but also just an all around good person. He was super popular at conventions for a reason.
EDIT: I had shared this over in the D&D threads, might as well here too. This is a message he sent to a fan who's grandmother died. Not a Cameo or some damn thing, just a message to try and help a kid trying to process a life event. And by all accounts he did this kind of thing pretty regularly. The world lost a good one here.

Get out of my Sanctum Solarium!
I really cannot recommend reading this enough, it was honestly the highlight of the DC Pride Annual this year, and it has a lot of heart in it.
He actually cant use the wonderboy name anymore he lost the court case.
Every year I play Arkham Knight around Halloween and Arkham Origins around Christmas making a little more progress on that 100%.
The Carol of the Bells arrangement they made for the soundtrack of Origins is impossibly strong.
