central time zone thursday advice since I don't see any pet threads
the vet told us they want to do a dental cleaning for one of our cats.
they sent an estimate and it includes the possibility of multiple extractions which is not something the vet mentioned in the visit so maybe it's just a covering of bases since they won't know until in there.
but anyway. I'm freaking out. Anesthesia on a pet terrifies me. Moreso than if it were me or my partner even though i'm sure logically there are the same risks. but like... it i have to burn down the vet because something happened over a case of gingivitis it's going to be really bad here.
I don't know. I just need to freak out here maybe.

absolutely get your cat that dental cleaning if it has any tooth problems, our cat had fucked up teeth when we got him and he felt better after the extraction even after the pain meds wore off, which just made us feel bad for not doing it earlier
if its teeth are fine and it has a weak heart maybe no
i wouldn’t do it regularly but a few times over the course of a cat’s life it’s probably a net good
