They were a separate alien threat from Tyranids, originally, IIRC, a kind of classic bodysnatcher paranoia horror thing
But they got integrated, and now the all-consuming overwhelming bestial horror of the hive mind also includes these... sapient, intelligent infiltrators who make intricate plans to sabotage societies from within
There is a bit of a contradiction there but in a way that's interesting; the idea that the genestealer (or their host/identity) are taken over by a kind of mindless genetic algorithm that can process complex social information like, say, an incredibly sophisticated AI, is compelling
Or the idea that the hive mind isn't a classic sapient mind but it can extrude such a mind as a tool to use for delicate work (like in that recent episode of Love Death and Robots)

Scarlett Johansson, Emma Stone, and J Law can rock paper scissors for Kerillian
I love that the 40k universe is so big and sprawling that I’ve read three eisenhorn books and still when y’all talk about warhammer it’s like cricket to me
If I were to explain 40K to an outsider, I’d start with the fact that it began life as a broad-strokes satire of Thacherite Britain using a bunch of tropes and ideas from other properties thrown into a soup so that a bunch of nerds could have their wargaming games set in SPAAACE! but then the property gained a life of its own and became popular with other nerds.

Zack Snyder is a great director of photography. His shit is impeccable.
He is maybe the worst story teller I have ever seen given hundreds of millions of dollars
Thousands of hot, local singles are waiting to play at bubbulon.com.
Also I just realized that Cavill 40k is supposed to be live action. Which I guess makes sense but seems like it'll be super expensive to do well. I just assumed it'd be an Arcane thing.

I was gonna say "So was Judge Dredd" but it started in 1977 so it didn't start as one
I think if they’re pulling from any material for series type stuff it needs to be from Dan Abnett’s body of work
He’s the best Black Library author imo
Abnett and ABD are my two favorites. Abnett's stuff is better for a show though, ABD writes fun but terrible characters since he does a lot of Chaos stuff.

ADB did Helsreach though and that was p good.
Matthew Farrer’s Enforcer series is really good and on par with Abnett’s work. CL Werner does good stuff too but I’ve only read his stuff for Fantasy.

I'm not really a bullet hell fan but I've really been digging on Brotato, so I got to looking at the wiki and uh no I'm okay thanks
Issac rules. It's more roguelike than Brotato though. Not really the same type of game.
Only the major Issac bosses are bullet hell.
No I mean plot-wise
Brotato: You are a potato with a Rambo bandana, little blob baddies try to eat you
Isaac:
WOMB SATAN DEATH MOM, our child hero suffocates in a chest, the end
I was checking the wiki and was not ready for that
That's like... 1 of 20 endings. There are more. But yeah, theme a little heavy.
oh, I thought they were all building to that and each "ending" was like a little more of it spooled it
Not really. In fact there is a strong implication that all of the endings and most everything that happens is imaginary. The twisted thoughts of a child trying to deal with his parents divorce and living through being left with an abusive TelevangelMom.
Everything is warped through the perspective of living with the mom. For example, it's implied that Dad is Mega Satan.
If you play Legend of Bumbo, a spinoff game, you can see everything is a cardboard cutout. And Edmund McMillian has talked before about being a weird kid that imagined grotesque things.
and I wonder about my neighbors even though I don't have them
but they're listening to every word I say

Classic mom!
but they're listening to every word I say
really pretty gauche of them to rip off Starcraft like that
you heard it here first

Kristen Stewart tho
He is maybe the worst story teller I have ever seen given hundreds of millions of dollars
Jude Law is pretty enough to do it, however
No, he'd end up making it too grimdark.
I was gonna say "So was Judge Dredd" but it started in 1977 so it didn't start as one
Both her and Kristen Stewart are actually great ideas.
Damn, he got Omar'd
I've been drinking water as my primary hydration source for so long it's all I really crave anymore. It tastes great.
Oh no
T’was cheesecake and a beef empanada
This is the twin eagle of the Imperium of Man. Not fantasy.

I enjoy Cavill fucking things
So same thing basically
You're probably fine
Have you picked up toilet paper recently? Oh no, nothing to worry about, was just curious.

Also lots of the use of Throne as a cuss word.
